For April Fool's 1957, they showed people harvesting spaghetti from trees... And people believed it.

I remember seeing that in some watchmojo top 10

The BBC's pretty notorious for this kind of shenanigans...

I remember them reporting of a special species of penguin that can actually fly.

I would consider that downright trolling, like the spaghetti trees. Something that you know is downright sillidiculous but is being reported anyway, I'd call it an average AFD gag.

I never was too fascinated with reading that book in junior high...

^That was due to the fact that people was listening to something else and missed the begging part were they said it was all fictious. It was actually the people's bad and yet they still burned down the radio station that did it.

they didn't burn anything down, they were civilized about it, especially since orson appologized

^To answer you, Spanish. Really it's just English rearranged and pronounced fancy with it's "all powerful" accents and tildes.

As for the other question dialect is anybody saying anything. So dialect is all language but not all language is dialect.

The weird thing about Spanish is that it's basically modified Latin with a hint of Arabic; English is mostly Germanicified Latin with a massive helping of French and a side of Greek. Paradoxically, it means that if you know enough English words, you could understand a lot of the Spanish adjectives and nouns.

And... That's actually right; Spanish is actually among the 25 weirdest languages according to this article: http://idibon.com/the-weirdest-languages/

Mine works perfectly fine.

Is it of any consolation that I don't have a console, or does it just make things worse?

spanish as the weirdest language? are you kidding me? it's a perfectly normal language

So you're saying that Spanish is perpendicular to English? (Normal also means perpendicular.)

Depends. If you're the kind of 'PC master race' guy, then that will make things worse.

Problem: I don't voluntarily choose to be, it's that I never had a console of my own.

That's fine then :P

I just don't like it when people go around saying one thing is superior to another.

I'd need an sdtv to get a decent image quality from a ps2 as it's not an HD console it actually more like 570p rather than 720p or 1080p hence why I wanted to opt for emulation. That and cost, but it looks like it's not happening, which is fine I have more games than I get round to playing as it.

That's why I play with a component cable. Those things are designed for use on HDTV's, and they seriously do an amazing job.

Of course, PS1 games aren't designed with component cables in mind, so if I wanna play PS1, I need to go back down to the plain composite cable.

Mine works fine as well. It also plays games that I legally backed up on copied dvds from my originals. ;););)

I use my PS2 on my HDTV. Sure the quality is s**t but when you're playing a game, it's skills that count. I know the glamor of PS3, Blu-Ray, HD Channels and Digital Media are nice and shiny. But sometimes old school is just easier.

Hooray for working PlayStation Doubles :D

My PS1 had that chip thing where I could play copied games, but my PS2 doesn't have that, so I'm stuck with legal versions... Which can be pretty damn expensive. One PS1 game I've wanted for ages now costs around £75.

I know that why I bought a modified version. That and online sources is why I'm the only person who's probably only had to pay for DVD blanks for his games. XD

Here's a pic of my PS family.

Here's a pic of my PS family.

My PS family was a few posts back. It's actually my second PS2. I had one of the fat silver models, but the disc tray jammed up in 2007, making discs unreadable. I only got this one a few months ago.

I had a PS One as well at some point (the nice rounded white thing). I have absolutely no idea what happened to that or the many games I had for it...

^Well that's sad for the silver one. Would be nice if you found the PS1. I had my PS2 since 2004 I believe. I save up a year of my lunch money to buy it. I only changed the lens on it shortly after. And even though it has it's ups and downs it still works. BTW My fave game is Tomb Raider. I've Played TR1 - TR2012 and found all the secrets and completed the time trails and have played all of them at least twice.

I have a feeling that it's at my brother's house, cos I remember giving my niece all my Harry Potter games (DAMMIT PAST JAY, YOU'RE SO STUPID). I probably won't bother chasing it up anyway; the PS2 can play PS1 games, and that's good enough for me.

In terms of fave series-es: Metal Gear Solid, Kingdom Hearts, Tony Hawks Pro Skater (Only the first 4 games), and WWE.

Tomb Raider is unfortunately one of those games where my brain just doesn't want it.
