its about a kingdom trying to recover after a massive war and the beloved princess is stolen away and the word for knights to save her is sent, (with the reward of land and her hand in marriage) many show up but they all fail and die.

a young woman appears, declaring her intentions to save the princess and marry her (which isn't really seen as strange more the fact she isnt a knight or dame, there are women knights the story refers to one several times, a paladin, though she is at the time guarding a tomb during a ritual, blah blah blah) so it fallows this young woman's adventure to save the princess from an evil necromancer and some shit
