Exactly. The cars are fully covered, and are not very fragile unlike open-wheeled vehicles like in F1 or Indy. Thankfully, those two have been pulling out all the right stops in terms of safety themselves, but as long as the drivers' are exposed, it's a deadly risk sport.

It helps quite a bit. Personal experience, I should know, to be honest. You convince yourself that you're "clearly" the better of your peers and could rub it in constantly, but since that doesn't exactly spread joy, you subconsciously get down on yourself - something of a snowball effect; it keeps piling up until suddenly you get the feeling that you're completely worthless. That tension sets yourself apart from what's fine and dandy. Terrible way to be sociable, at the very least

The more you think about it, the more it makes sense. Trixie must have such a sense of superiority that she thinks she will do everything. The moment she doesn't, she probably becomes her own worst enemy.

Well, as I said before, maybe something in the show itself will change that.

I'd say that the downside of the own personality gets divided in two things. Either it gets you down and become depressed, or you hate your guts and become your own worst enemy. I should know. I had that sensation countless of times. Only the first part of "superiority" never happened...
