Time to crack out the old random type creator thing out, Also if they are "hacked", as long as they look real it's fine. But I need to get the Basic Badge first though.

 

As real as anything wild. Random IV's, no EV's, no moves being known outside of its normal move pool. It would just have a random route/area where it was found. Like Finding a shinx in dragonspiral tower.

 

I can breed one just to get rid of that as well, but thats really nothing big.

If you get the badge and ability to trade kinda fast then I may actually be able to trade while she is still asleep.

You do know I once reported like dozens of character minimum violation, right? All of them are dead obvious, very hard to miss them all if you're actually patrolling

 

The problem is that peeps need to stop posting so bloody much. Actually, I'm just kidding. The activity is great! But we are having days where 3,000 new posts are made and we haven't even reached season 3 yet. That is a lot of posts… To be honest, I haven't actually seen this level of activity on very many sites… It's a little bit insane. To put this in perspective, Hacker News is a site with more than 10 times the number of members, but it only gets 1,000 new comments on the weekends.

 

Have you ever played Pac-Man? Every additional 700 members are so represents a ridiculous ramp up in forum activity. Right now, moderating here is rather like playing Pac-Man on insane mode - twice the ghosts, half the space to maneuver, and no special dots that can turn the tables. Oh yeah, and every once in a while you have to enter arbitrage with the ghosts in which you type out walls of text defending yourself against accusations that you are Pac-Man.

 

Ouch... You need to separate tasks between each mod... :x

 

Pretty sure game servers already got their own mods (Ashbad and Jonke?), and Facebook and twitter can't be that hard to maintain, Deviantart only took like few minutes, which left you the blog and something else you forgot

 

Yeah, the tasks are actually separated between each staff member, but there is quite a bit of bleedthrough at some points in time. However, a recent cleanup of the Facebook page took about… 4 or 5 hours at least (we were visited by haters). The thing that I forgot was server administration, which is a world of its own.

 

Pretty damn sure you will have enough staff left behind after all that

 

Well, this would be the case if staff members were not volunteers. However, we are volunteers and we are often distracted. For example, I wasn't very active over the past week due to certain concerns in work and personal life that interfered with my ability to come online and get stuff done while typing a walls of text.

 

Don't get me wrong, we've got this and the staff can handle things. However, we still need users to help out by reporting. See, it's like a bit of a deal between the users and the staff. Without user reports, we would easily need double the staff to cover the same amount of ground. However, if we had double the staff, then, by necessity, the staff would lose its efficiency (too much friction due to the need for communication and coordination amongst a larger team, rather like too many cooks in the kitchen).

 

I often found myself reporting the same shit more than once

 

I want to ask you something. Once a report got filed behind, will it disappears or just lay there for any other mod to see?

 

Actually, it is always there for other moderators to see. If you are reporting things but they are not being dealt with, then this means that the report is being marked as complete without action being taken. Sometimes, it is the case that a report simply does not require moderator action. However… If you are noticing a trend, then this is something worth looking into.

 

You know the truth. Without a certain someone going all crazed, this thread would stay RCT for a while longer

Dude... Everyday I checked the Top Poster thing daily, and from that I could count we have about 700 posts daily, 900 maximum. We don't have even 1500 posts right now...

That's unfortunate about the facebook page...

And you need to recruit some technician to help you on the server. A REAL technician, not someone who can only help on trivial stuff

Kids are allowed to do mostly what the fuck they please as long as it does not go over the very broad lines of conduct.

Moderating is a full time job more or less even on a smaller forum.

300 actives and you got your hands full between two mods and a Admin solving shit.

Unfortunately, the top poster counter does not count activity that occurs in areas where post counts are disabled. In other words, it excludes RP world (except advanced RP games) and Cloudsdale. When you include those numbers… You have a very interesting picture. :3

Well, the thing is… I am the "real technician" that was recruited to help Feld0.

 

It's actually pretty hard to find folks that have extensive experience in server maintenance and are willing to volunteer that experience and time for a pony site. (I'm a little bit weird.)
