hey , i've been working on a song for the past 2 days. this is what i've got so-far. tell me what you think of it.

it's very unfinished and shit, but i'd like some input on this because, well, i'm kinda stuck on how to continue with it. i kinda have an idea for the ending. i need to vary the melody a bit, too, but this is just a rough body of it all ATM.

 

I'm still at work, so I'll have to listen to it once I get home and whenever I get my computer.

I like the transitions at 1:00 and 1:40, the outro is pretty good too. 1:40 - 2:10 is the best of it though, I really like that segment.

The only real problem I have with the track is that some of the keys that occur after the 2:10 mark seem to draw attention away from the rest of the track. Almost as if they're too high.

 

That's what you get for quoting someone as they're changing their username, so that username no longer exists. So derp.

high in tone or high in volume? i wanted some sort of melody occur after hearing that acid synth and beat grinding on for that amount of time, and that was all i had. :x i'll probably add in some more acid synths and 303's with a melody to fit in with the rest. as well as a bass-line, since the song is lacking in that department (or is it? i think the beat accompanying the synth is a bit to weak... might just be the samples though. they're not exactly bass-heavy).

Adding a bassline always helps the rhythm, but it would definitely help out the beginning of the song. When the synth hits at 1:00, having a bass there might be too much. As for tone or volume, I think it's mostly the volume but I could be wrong.

I helped my dad deliver Ice to the local Gas Stations/Walgreens/CVS's today and BY GOD thosse Walgreens freezers are FUCKING COLD

 

The minimum temperature is about 12 degrees farenheit in there

i could have the bassline hitting at when the hi-hats come in at the beginning, then make it all go away when the acid synth comes, then kick it in with the rest of it all again at the main-part of the song, i.e. the beat with the synth in it. problem is i dunno how to do-get a bassline that works in it (think like house bassline, that's kinda what i want to get, but i dunno how the sound is produced. oh well, can always look up tutorials i guess).

 

i made the volume for the sound, a preset called Angelic whistle, that high because i could have sworn it got drowned out by everything else in the mix. ugh. need to master that shit right up.

Just a heads up, but it may be his headphones/earphones/earbuds making stuff sound loud.

I know for a fact an old pair of buds I had made higher pitched sounds and snares play crazy loud, but they were decently low in my headphones.

keep that in mind.

i know that feel all too well. my earbuds doesn't really have any good low-level or high-level sound in it, so when i hear a heavy distorted kick, the sound kills my ears, and when i hear a lot of high-pitched singing or cymbal/hi-hat overdose, i just lower the volume on that part. not to mention the fucking wire tangles up into EVERYTHING, and they fall out of my ears all the time because my ears are very hard and boney. i've been meaning to buy a better pair of headphones, but i keep using that money on everything else. T.T

I have a really good pair of headphones, too bad they're only compatible with amps and other musical equipment. It would be nice if they were compatible with me pc. You're making me want to go out and get a new bass and start jamming.
