But, I don't see a full problem with Spike saving the day since Twilight was stuck and all not sure how long it would take for her to make it out.

It basically implies that Twilight's being disowned by Celestia is much worse than Spike having his ass shunned by Twilie.

 

I'm not seeing how thats even related...

I know Twilight's worse fear was being disowned as a student by Tia and Spikes was having to leave Twilight, but her realizing that she couldn't make it out in time before Sombra reached the town and allowing Spike to be the hero even though she was supposed to or she would fail her "test" doesnt imply anything like that to me. It shows Twilight was able to fail a test on her own accord just to save the lives of others.

Yeah I was never a big fan of Spike, and as I'm re watching the series it's only strengthening my opinion. I don't hate him by any means, but my eyes roll when he gets prolonged screen time.

Agreed. To be honest, it does seem plausible of him getting back...but...you know. That "disappearance" is slightly extreme for him to come back, I think.

Just the thought of her dissapointing Celestia, send her on a frenzy attitude. Imagine if her current worst fear, that of Celestia mocking her and not passing the test...what do you think will happen then?

Sombra apparently made a trap that whoever got caught, was unable to escape because of either an illusion of staying trapped "a la Naruto, Genjutsu type", OR that the magic inside the circle re-teleported whoever was inside back in there, or even countering spells, which might have happened even if she tried to destroy the crystals. So...despite her believing SHE had to complete the test, she understood little time was left, hence delegating the safety of the Crystal Empire in Spike's hands.

Okay, let me start! The spell that got Twilight trapped seemed to be activated only to those that got in the area drawn beneath the Crystal Heart, probably left by our blacky king before he got cast away. And since he was putting every effort in reaching the castle before anything else, I think if he COULD cast the spell, he wouldn't have been able to, or thought of it.

 

Like Trace said, Twilight actually tried to teleport, but got sucked in, which is why I can't decide on what exactly was the spell trap that Sombra had cast before.

 

Sombra was capable of growing dark crystals which could drain energy, or channel dark energy, and was clever enough to leave traps, and strong ones at that like that "worst fear door" and the trap that got Twilight inside with no chance of escaping, it seemed. I think he was quite strong.

 

And finally, if Twilight ever got what she saw as her worst fear, she would lock herself, study EVEN MORE than she already does, and of course, go insane trying to show that she was worthy of Celestia, OR her losing all hope and just remain locked. The first would probably cause damage to Ponyville, bad news, and the second, which could set for great plot development, would cause grief to her friends, and everyone who knew her, Spike included, which is also bad news.
