Maybe. Maybe not. Scootaloo is pretty much the only talking pegasus filly in the entire show, so we don't have anypony else to compare with

well if we were to compare Scootaloo to filly Fluttershy  we'd see that F.S. was flying at Scootaloo's age. Also there have been some background Pega-fillies seen in the show. Can't remember if they were flying or not.

Meh, a time skip would only fly if it were a spinoff and not the main series. Though I could see it working somewhat.

 

I figure if Scootaloo ever gets to fly, the episode will have a cheesy "You can do it if you try" moral at the end. Either that or they'll do the handicap awareness message so many cartoons do.

I can't help but fear there may some shark-jumping in the near future. I won't worry too much until S4 and Equestria Girls roll around, though.

 

I think a time skip would leave too many grim possibilities for the show. What about old characters like Granny Smith, and that funny bald guy? Depending on how long the time skip was, they might have them "disappear" The maturity gap between the mane 6 and the CMC implies there's have to be a long gap to put them at mane 6-ish age, and that's the route they'd probably go with, cliches and all.. Meh, maybe that's just me overanalyzing things.

 

My prediction on the S4 intro: It will have something to do with Sombra, and Twilight Sparkle shooting magicalbeamsoflove at him as an alicorn. It just makes too much sense, with him being a powerful unicorn and the reveal of the black book in the 2-parter that introduced Sombra and all that. I have a feeling they at least intend to reuse him.

Perhaps, but it's rather strange for one to inexplicably lose the ability to fly. Besides, she's at the age when RD, who was able to perform a sonic rainboom, got her cutie mark. The other foals were also able to fly just fine. It's just weird that Scootaloo can't even lift herself from the ground.

I know the whole "Scootaloo is crippled" thing is floating around and all, but eh, that seems a little grim for the show. She HAS hovered a little, as well.

Still have a feeling there'll be a episode where she learns to fly/fails to learn to fly with a cheesy moral someday. It'll have an episode all its own at any rate. I'd say they're gonna play the phobia card, but they already did a fear-based episode. That, or she'll never learn to fly at all.

I agree. although i looked it up and came across a statement ,whether its from the show itself or the writers, that said that Pega-fillies grow into their wings but until then are only able to flap them but not attain lift.
