What exactly was their reasoning for that?

Using copyrighted music... Which is kinda laughable, considering the music in question is licensed under Creative Commons. To be honest, I think whoever it was on the phone was just trying to scare us, and I have an idea of who it was.

When we did the shoot, there was another guy who wanted to get involved but nobody wanted to work with because he's pretty much an ass, so we phoned him to say there wasn't any room in the car.

I guess he just wants to get revenge the dumb way.

So long as it's not the whole song or if it is a cover of the song or the song is playing in the BG on a radio or tv. They can't do anything to you. I feel I should clarify that what you just described is the 'fair use' law. The difference between that and a Creative Commons license is that the license gives me the full right to use the song. 

Generally speaking, if I don't have a license, I can't use it.

'Fair use' is a really flaky part of copyright law, so it's always best to play it safe and just avoid major labels in the first place.

It was an independent band The Kyoto Connection.

Even though they put their music up for free, I still sent them over $10 as a sign of respect.

Also, yeah, considering I have a business email set up, and haven't published my friend's number anywhere, it's safe to say that it's someone we know, so I'm not worried :3

Running ExtraMana.com is PITA already. I do all this work then I have to sit back and wait for others to do 1% of what I have done. People are so in-efficient.

Pretty good I guess, got college tomorrow spent most of the last 5 days working on my site www.extramana.com I just set up a google analytics account for it. Shit is about to get serious. Gonna watch some anime later, maybe even *deep breath* start watching MLP...again...for like the fourth time. Where is season 5?! I digress.

I want the site to cover anime, manga, and games so I'm taking on contributors. I have one guy so far I'm looking to bring on more people. I have a few people in mind and am also looking into other avenues for recruitment.

Thanks dude I been doing this YouTube thing for years I thought it was time to step it up a notch by recruiting others who are doing the same thing. So much work has gone into it and much more to come, I've basically been at college or at my computer woeking on this for the last 2 weeks, it'll all be worth it though. I putting together a marketing strategy now as well as loking for talent for the site. Anyway I'm hitting the hay pretty soon, got college tomorrow.

Cool Make sure you get someone that knows about Toku, Like Super Sentai, Kamen Rider, Metal Hero, Ultraman. They're stuff from Japan as well.

That would be cool I guess, although not sure what I could categorize that under on my site. Anime is the closest fit and that is still far off. when you say toku I assume you mean tokusatsu I'm somewhat familar but no expert in it.

Humm. Makes me feel like wrting something on the Sentai they announced for next year. Which is Shuriken Sentai Ninninger. A 3rd Ninja Themed Sentai. Though there is not much to report other than the name and that it will be ninja themed.
