If it's on minecraft then dig down to layer 11-12 then do a strip mine. Trust me it works. Also explore the caves that you come across.

Well, I would avoid damaging any of that beautiful architecture you've made! You should dig a ways away.

I see many youtubers who do it. Dependant on where their base is located.
