Vision blurred, sound muffled, the medic forced himself onto his hooves. He shook his head to clear the haze, and saw the Princess slumped against a wall.

 

"Princess!" The medic grabbed the ancient alicorn in his magic glow, helping her to her hooves. He looked back to Corkscrew, who was glowing, eyes white, change beginning. Reading on the magic detector were going nuts, and brain activity pulled a 180.

 

"These reading...the entity inside of Corkscrew has completed its mind control process and is coming up to the surface. It is possible that he is entering a Nightmare form, similar to how ancient texts describe the transformation of Princess Luna into Nightmare Moon. If that's the case, we could be looking at a second Nightmare event."

Princess Celestia

"Thank you guard. How could this be? A pegasus with magic? Do you think this is the work of the changelings or something different?"

 

She looked at Corkscrew who was still laying there.

 

"Of all the times for this to happen. Is there anything that can be done for him? Should we put the castle on high alert?"

 

Corkscrew

Corkscrew's subconscious was going nuts. He could feel himself awaking, feeling his body change. He still had control for the moment, but could loose it at any time.

 

A cocoon of magic began to envelop his body.

(I just had my wisdom teeth pulled. I am really out of it due to the hydro pain pills, so forgive me if quality is lacking.)

If what the ancient records of Nightmare Moon are true, then he will come out of that cocoon no longer as Corkscrew, but a Nightmare version of himself. Remix was surprised about how they came up to him and said hello, and the fact that they act as if they knew the whole town. But what really caught him by surprised was the fact that Pinkie Pie pulled a wagon out of nowhere. "Nice to meet ya Plagal, same to you to Pinkie Pie, I'm Remix. I just moved here from Trottingham." He said with a strong Trottingham accent. "I just decided to take a stroll around Ponyville and ended up in the market."

"Hello?  Corkscrew, are you home?" Fluttershy called as she knocked on the stallion's door.  There was no answer.  Earlier in the day, she had decided that she would pay Corkscrew a visit, just to make sure he was alright.  She trusted Fire's magic, but she had to see for herself.

 

She knocked again, and then heard a soft scratching from the other side of the door.  When she opened it, a small kitten trotted out and began rubbing against her front legs.  "Pookie!" Fluttershy exclaimed.  "Where's Corkscrew?  Did he leave?"  The kitten squeaked and continued to rub her legs.  "Alright Pookie," she told the kitten as she picked him up and put him in her saddlebag, "let's go find your daddy."

Twilight

Twilight gust got to the Crystal Empire. Twilight walking to the castle and she noticed the top of the castle was glowing. Twilight know Fire magic was going out of control she flew up to the top of the castle. She enter the castle bargaining doors. Twilight ran were Fire was at and she saw her brother and his wife on the floor. Twilight then look at Fire his magic was glow red " Not good" Twilight look at her brother and Cadance and tell them " Ok I need you two help we need to make a barrier around Fire we can control his magic" Twilight tell them.  

 

Twilight and with Cadance and her brother they was able make a barrier around Fire and Fire use his fire magic.They were able hold back his magic and then Fire start to wake up. Twilight walk to Fire and noticed he look like a Changeling a half of one Twilight ask him " Are you ok Fire and how do you feel" Twilight ask.

 

Fire Star

Fire fining woke up and noticed Twilight was here in the castle and ask him he is ok. " Yes Twilight I guess I OK and I feel I was on war for years" Fire said. Fire remembered Corkscrew was in big trouble he tell Twilight what the parasite tell him. Twilight tell Fire, Corkscrew is in Canterlot and the Princess Celestia will help him. Fire said " NO Celestia magic can't help him the parasite has some sort of magic that the parasite can use" Fire tell her. Twilight started to think and then she and Cadance and her brother and Fire sense a dark magic coming form Canterlot. Fire know how it was " Twilight it is Corkscrew he is in trouble we need to help him now be fore he die" Fire begged her.

 

Twilight look at Fire and said " Yes we need to go now" Twilight and Fire ran to some royal guards and ask them they can got to Canterlot as fast as they can. They hop on the couch and off they go.

 

They got to the Canterlot as fast they could and they ran to were they had Corkscrew was at. Corkscrew was surrounded with some kind of cocoon magic Fire was scared that Corkscrew was dying slow. Fire ran to Corkscrew Twilight yell at Fire but he kept on, to he got to Corkscrew. Fire start to hear that parasite again " Why are you trying to help him he not your friend" the parasite tell him.

 

Fire pay no attention to the voice he started to use his magic to help Corkscrew.  As hard he try the parasite kept him form Corkscrew. But he kept on going but the parasite make in more hard for Fire to us his magic " Why stop this he well be the king of the Changelings and he will conquer Equestria for the Changelings Empire" the parasite kept on telling Fire.

 

Fire tell the parasite "I will not let that happed I will save Corkscrew and stop the Changeling plans" Fire said to the parasite. " How are you going to do that" parasite taunts Fire. Fire look at Corkscrew and said to the parasite " With Hope and  my straight and with Corkscrew straight to" Fire said. Fire close his eyes and bring all of his magic out gust to save is friend life.  

 

And then Fire Magic started to glow so bright his body start to turn white. And his horn was slowly dissipating and he was getting wing like a pegisai. And Fire magic got so strong the parasite was destroyed with all the magic he had. And then Fire enter Corkscrew mind  he was looking for him. And then he find Corkscrew he yell at him " Corkscrew you are not this week you are stronger then this" Fire tell Corkscrew.

 

Fire use his magic and give it to Corkscrew " You can win yon need to remember you have friend and family how need you do not let this parasite win" Fire tell Corkscrew. " That parasite what you to destroyed Equestria your home well you let that happened" Fire was start to cry. " Corkscrew DO NOT LET THAT  PARASITE WIN CORKSCREW"  Fire yell with all his straight. And Fire pass out with all is magic use up.

Or at least a music store that for sure sells DJ equipment? I forgot mine at Trottingham, unfortunately. And the worst part I earn bits by DJing." Remix hoped at least one pony knew where he could get DJ equipment. Then he remembered his party days in Trottingham. He was one of the locally famous DJs in Trottingham. Corkscrew was laying there. He was slowly awaking, however an immense pain shot through his body. His wings were getting larger, his fur turning black, a magic armor was beginning to cover his body. Suddenly as fox began to use his magic to try to stop the change, Corkscrew let out a loud yell, shattering all the windows in the east wing of the castle. A horn was begging to grow.

 

Princess Celestia

"I've seen that armor before. A long time ago. I belonged to the first caption of the guard, Mars. He and Luna created Nightmare Moon one thousand years ago. I always blamed him for what happened to Luna. How could this be though. I exiled him to the red planet. Twilight, it might be a good idea to gather the elements and bring them here."

 

Corkscrew

Though the parasite was dead, It left a void inside Corkscrew, a void that Mars was trying desperately to fill. Mars had merged with Corkscrew, giving him the power of the accent guard caption, as well as absorbing Fox's magic that was used on him.

 

 

 

Fire enter Corkscrew mind  he was looking for him. And then he find Corkscrew he yell at him " Corkscrew you are not this week you are stronger then this" Fire tell Corkscrew.   Fire use his magic and give it to Corkscrew " You can win yon need to remember you have friend and family how need you do not let this parasite win" Fire tell Corkscrew. " That parasite what you to destroyed Equestria your home well you let that happened" Fire was start to cry. " Corkscrew DO NOT LET THAT  PARASITE WIN CORKSCREW" 

 

 

Corkscrew looks at Fire who was now in his mind

 

"I.....I'm sorry it had to end like this. Thank you for all you did for me, but that parasite left a void. It destroyed all my compassion. My love. Any chance I had at getting a chance to love somepony are dead. The only thing I crave now is revenge to  that bucking changeling queen that did this to me. The only thing I feel is hatred and distrust. All of my happy thoughts are just a memory now. Tell my friends that I am sorry for what I'm about to do. Mars has given me the ability to achieve my goal. I can defend Equestria from whatever threat may come our way. Now leave this place. I will be fine."

 

Corkscrew stomps a hoof and his whole sub-conscience shakes.  

 

"You saved my life...twice now, and I may never be able to repay you, but leave now before I wake up or you will be trapped here forever. Now....GET OUT!"

 

The magical cocoon was beginning to crack allowing Corkscrew to regain control of his body. He was now in nightmare form and bent on revenge agents the changelings.

Corkscrew emerged from the cocoon in a Nightmare form, standing as tall as Celestia, with spiked armor all around. The medic reached for the nearest spear, and got into attack position.

 

"I can distract him while you evacuate the civilians Princess. We need to save as many ponies from this evil as we can." The medic wasn't stupid. He saw the readings, he knew the power this Nightmare Corkscrew possessed. He had no hope of actually beating the alicorn, but he could keep him busy long enough for everypony else to escape.

We looked there, and nothing. We saw it happen again. Except this time, we saw a green mist surrounding the tree. So, logically, (and a bit insanely) we went to talk to the tree and asked him "How did you do that?" And the tree answered "Magic. This can be done through focus and intensive practice."

For years, we tried an tried, and all of the sudden, we were flying, and had even developed wings...

 

ROMEO- Similarly to a PEGASUS???

 

PRINCESS CELESTIA- Yes. And we mastered this art after a few more years, and that is the end of the story.

 

ROMEO- That was quite an interesting story, Celestia.

 

PRINCESS CELESTIA- Oh Romeo, this story has been passed down. You probably haven't asked yet, that was the only reason you didn't know...

"Thanks again Plagal, really appreciate it." He waved goodbye and went off to find this mare, Vinyl Scratch? "White coat, blue mane, weird sunglasses. Well how hard can it be it be to find her?" Unfortunately, it wasn't easy. At all. He went around Ponyville for about 20 minutes trying to find this mare. "Last spot, Sugarcube Corner? Uhhh ok." He took a deep breath and opened the door. He took a look around the area, no white mare with blue mane in sight. "Well this is bloody perfect, not a single mare fitting that descrption. Just. Bloody. Perfect. Actually I've got quite the munchies at this moment." He looked around and saw what some ponies were eating. Cakes, pies, and other sweets. "Wow, I guess this will do." He went up to the cashier and asked for a chocolate cupcake. "Thank Celestia I've got a good amount bits." He paid the cashier and took the cupcake outside. He took a bite and his eyes became wide open. "This is the best cupcake I've ever tasted!" He ate the cupcake quite quickly and looked up while licking the chocolate off his face. The white mare named Vinyl Scratch was there. He rushed over to her and said, "Hey, sorry for interrupting... whatever it was you were doing but I hear you're a DJ and I wanted to ask you where you buy your DJ equipment."

 

Vinyl Scratch took off her shades and revealed her magenta eyes. "Actually I got my DJ equipment from Baltimare. You can mail a letter to Wubadubdub Studios and have them send you some DJ equipment. I'm guessing you're a DJ too right?" Remix face turned as red as a rose. "Huzzaza-huzzzzz. Thank you so much beau- MISS. I was gonna call you miss, by the way, I'd appreciate it if you told me you're name. I MEANT LIKE A FRIEND." Vinyl Scratch raised an eyebrow at him and said, "Vinyl Scratch. My name is Vinyl Scratch. And don't sweat it dude. See you around? Oh I almost forgot! Here's the address for Wubadubdub Studios." After she have Remix the address to mail Wubadubdub Studios, she waved goodbye and they went their separate ways. "Wow, that was a BLOODY TRAIN-WRECK." He thought to himself. "I don't think I've seen a mare liker her in my days at Trottingham. Glad I moved here." He said to himself. He had to get closer to her. He just had to.

He pulls the spear from the guard away from the guard with his new found magic and throws it out one of the windows, nearly hitting a pony in the street of Canterlot. "Don't insult me! I still have all of Corkscrews memories. I know this place inside and out. I also know I had a soft sport for you," as he points to Celestia. "I shall not kill you...yet. First thing first. Revenge on that witch of a changeling that did this to me. I shall lead a great crusade agents the changelings. Apparently they were winning, until their general was killed by an unidentified batpony, believed to be the same batpony that was reported slaughtering changelings during the Canterlot invasion. This caused the bulk of the invasion force to retreat to the hive, with the remaining forces being forced out by the Elements of Harmony. The changelings were clearly becoming more aggressive in the their war against Equestria, and eventually, they would need to go on the offensive.

 

"I don't approve of the use of dark magic, as it has a tendency to corrupt, but he is right on one thing. The reports coming in of changeling activity show increased aggression and a counter attack may be what we need to turn the tables, less they slowly chip away at us. Maybe an attack on the Changeling Hive would be a good idea, Princess."

"Your getting weak in your age Celestia. Why not show them the same mercy that they showed us? Why else would you have appointed a successor if you did not know your time was coming. If Equestria is not with me in my crusade, that it is AGAINST ME!"

 

Dark magic swirled around his newly acquired horn, as he stomped a hoof, cracking the marble floor in the medical room.

 

"Perhaps Luna shares a different view on the matter..."

He looks out the window in the direction of Ponyville.

 

"You know, I think I'm going to thank that changeling queen for my new power...right before I finish her!"

"The debate is OVER! The changeling threat ends now, with or without your permission Princesses! Perhaps I will find more support in Ponyville!" as he lets out an evil laugh. My friends will support me!"

 

MEDIC

 

The medic was at a loss. There was nothing he could do to help the situation. This Nightmare Corkscrew was going to try and garner support in Ponyville for this crusade. He internally hoped for the citizens safety.

 

MAX

 

Max was working away in his office on the new potion formulas that he had created when a loud boom could be heard, shaking the entire building.

 

"What the..." He got up and looked to his window to see that the East Wing of the castle had its windows blown out and that dust now floated freely. He also spotted a spear fly out and nearly impale a nearby pedestrian. It wasn't until he saw a strange alicorn make his way to Ponyville that his curiosity got the better of him.

 

"Davis, I'm making a quick trip to Ponyville, hold down the fort while I'm gone." With that, he grabbed his concierge jacket and fedora-along with a few health potions-and headed out.

 

NEXUS

 

Nexus was about to head back to his hotel room when he heard the faint-but definite-sound of an explosion. He looked towards Canterlot to see smoke covering the side of the castle.

 

"Oh Celestia-damnit what now?" He saw a figure heading straight for town, a rather evil figure at that. The hybrid sighed deeply, heading into his room and donning his helmet to complete his armor.

 

"Can't seem to get ten minutes of peace in this town..." He muttered under his breath.

A far off booming sound caused Parcels ears to prick up turning toward the direction of the sound he saw a figure coming closer, "what in Equestria is that?" He squinted to try and make it out and when it came close enough he could see that it was an alicorn, a male alicorn. Parcel never having heard of a male alicorn before was now thinking that he really didn't want to know what in Equestria it was.

 

Luminari

 

Luminari did not hear the explosion but when Parcel spoke she turned her head in the direction he was looking and saw it. Being far sited she could see it clearly from where she was and looked upon it in amazement and wonder watching the alicorn come closer and became more and more exited. She looked over to her companion but when he looked at her his eyes were full of fear making her frown 'what's wrong?' Maybe he couldn't see what it was, maybe he thought it was a dragon but he only shook his head.

Nightmare Corkscrew

 

As he approached, Corkscrew began to circle the town. Looking for able bodied ponies to go on his crusade. As he lands, the ground tremmors slightly. His fur was now as black as his heart had become. With the exception of one small stripe of orange that still remained. His main was turned black, and was now wild and unkept. His cutie mark was tje only thing unchanged. The residents were hiding from him in terror.

 

"I can see that Ponyville is as week as those so called guards in Canterlot."

 

"Today, we take this fight to the changelings. We will defeat their queen, and end this pitiful excuse for an invasion! Their queen did this to me! Her pet paracite took my love, my hopes, my dreams. Any chance I had at finding true love. It almost killed me. Now I'm going to return the favor! If anypony is brave enough...we leave at midnight!"

 

Corkscrew was heading to the ancient castle in Everfree, where he would bide his time till the time for the attack would come.

Nexus watched from a distance as this alicorn made his way to the castle ruins in Everfree, pondering his next course of action. He caught a glimpse of his cutie mark, and a stripe of orange, the hybrids eyes widening in realization.

 

"Holy crap...I think that's Corkscrew." Nexus didn't know what to think. But he felt compelled to investigate this further. He unfolded his crystal clear bat wings and took flight, making his way to the ruins. Luckily, being a hybrid didn't affect his flight pattern, so he was able to fly silently, as opposed to the buzzing normal changelings make. Corkscrew beat him there, and Nexus landed, removing his helmet to reveal his full hybrid face.

 

"Corkscrew, is that you? What happened, you look...well, almost like me, minus the horn."

Her face was turned to Parcel when the alicorn spoke her expression remained the same until he had finished a sly grin formed on her face 'we should go'

"What are you crazy?!" Came the reply.

'What?'

"I'M a changeling. Unless you've forgotten and it sounds to me like he doesn't want changelings around that sounds like a really bad idea. Besides didn't we just get informed that neither of us should die or we both go."

Luminari took in a deep breath letting it out slowly a huge blast of magic coming from her horn words forming at her will.

'This here is really important we need to go under cover and go to this meeting and find out what this guy's up to if not us no one else will do this so we have to you need to buckle up sunny cause I can't do this without you so please you have to be brave and do this with me.'

Taken aback by her words it took him a moment to recover, "uuuhhhh.... ok then let's do it I guess." He'd never seen her make so many words at once and it shocked him that she could make so many.

'Great, don't worry I'll do all the talking.' Right.

Nightmare Corkscrew

Corkscrew was now at the ancient castle. He began roaming its deserted halls and chambers. Memories of Mars' began flooding in.

"This is where it all happened. This is where the first nightmare was created." It was an almost identical screen to the one he had caused in Canterlot. He could hear a pony sneeking up behind himself.

"So I guess this is all Ponyville sent me. A half bat, half changeling. Do not fear, as I feel your pain. The changelings did this to me!," as he stomps his hoof in anger. "And I vow revenge."

His horn was swirling with dark magic.

"I see you've noticed the upgrade. I've Gould have gone without the horn, but why not go all out."

Corkscrew could hear two more sets of hooves enter the ruins, but were far away.

"You look hungry Nexis. I dare you to try to find one ounce of love left in me that was not distorted or tainted by the queens pet parasite. This...this form is a reflection of what is left in my heart. The horn however is a nother story."

Nexus looked up and down this new Corkscrew, with a look of amazement. And slight worry.

 

"This...this would of happened to me if Virus won. I would of been turned into a emotionless slave to the changelings. Until whatever turned you into...this came along. Even then Virus' corruption made me a hybrid." The hunter looked down at his claws, deep in thought. He was contemplating his next move. He could see himself in his armor's reflection, his green changeling eyes, his jet black fur, his fangs. He looked back up to Corkscrew.

 

"Your heading to the changeling hive? I'm in. While we are there, we should find a way to restore your heart. And...maybe mine as well. But I have a condition. Parcel, you remember him. He isn't like the others. I want him left alive. Do that and I will join this crusade of yours to the hive. If anypony knows how to restore us to our previous forms, it will be the changeling queen. Plus I could use a littel payback for all they have done."

Nexus already had an inkling about where this was going. If this was going where he thought it was, it was going to make restoring him a lot harder.

"Mars was the first captain of the guard. In fact, we are standing in his office as we speak. He was also Luna and Celestia's cousin. He sided with Luna and combined their magic creating Nightmare Moon. Celestia could not believe that her sister was so full of hate and blamed her own cousin for corrupting her. As punishment, Mars was exiled to the distant red star that can be seen on clear nights such as tonight."
