Brony Conventions - What do you actually do there? :P

So seeing as I recently found out a friend of mine was a brony we have been discussing about buck con 2013 in Manchester this year. Seeing as it's only a 45 min train trip away we have been considering it. However the one problem is that I don't know what goes on at pony conventions, on youtube you see all the zany things and the panels. But apart from that what do you do? This could probably be the same as places like Bronycon so the American folk could probably contribute as well to this with it being relevant to the subject.

If you could give me any insight on other things apart from those two things then I would really appreciate it, before you say "just get the tickets and see if you like it", the main reason I am throwing up this post is because it's £55 for the standard ticket and I'm only 16 so I don't have an income. However I have £60 still from Christmas and my friend has around the same amount so it is possible but will loose most of our money from doing so :P

I suppose trying to sell it to me is always a good idea but also if you could be as honest as possible then would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance if you do give some details about them. :)

I've never actually been to a pony convention, but I've been to a few conventions. Mainly anime related, but you know hey. My guess is that you go around and hang on with fellow bronies, you can go to panels, do workshops, buy crap, play pokemon/mtg cards with folks blah blah blah

You know, typical convention things. I'm actually curious myself as to knowing if there's anything more special about pony conventions so yeah.

Haven't been to a convention myself, but I imagine it being people selling stuff, the panels, and bronies just hanging out. Not sure what happens in between though.

Well, i believe it is a tradition of sorts for people to drop there spaghetti all over the floor. In all seriousness, its a place where you are probably gonna feel accepted as you are among people who like the same stuff. At brony conventions, there is a lot of things there that you can find at other conventions like artists, panels, contests, raffles, actions and much more. Plus you can buy tons of shit at various vendors across the showroom floor. Ive never been to a convention before but im well researched and they look like a blast!

Hahahaha I was laughing at this for 5 minuets hehe :)

People tend to go to the stalls at the place and then watch the panels (which are like mini-shows by people famous in the bony community).

There are also after parties (well defiantly at Brony con) which you can go to and just have a good time listening to pony music :)

Well depending on the con you might get to meet/hear one of the creators/voice actors of the show. There's also different types of panels everything from styling pony brushables to creating pony music. American cons usually have some kind of rave or dance in the evening. You'll also hopefully see some cool cosplays that people have made. There's also the artists and dealers where you can get fan made items or maybe order custom artwork. And then there's just the general chilling out with fans of the same thing as you.
