Introduction
 

Hello there! This is a Slice-of-Life (or short SoL) roleplay where your character can live his life like every other day. But there is something special within this roleplay: Managing. Now you ask what that is about. You have to find a job, earn a living and find a place to stay. Everypony starts with a fixed amount of bits and you get your money (bits) weekly/monthly, also some statistic and roleplay status are send to you weekly with a message system. There will be a map where you can see which houses are available to buy, where you can live, which jobs are there to take from a NPC or another player who already has a shop where you can work in. This is an advanced roleplay so it´s recommended that you have gathered enough experience within other roleplays, you are able to create well described posts and have much endurance to keep this project alive.

 

1.) General Rules of the RP

1.1 I will be carefully overlooking and approving every character form that is posted. Just because you post it, does not mean you are automatically accepted. If you are accepted, I will quote the character and say Accepted. Until then, you are NOT accepted into the RP and cannot post until I say so.

1.2 Your character has to be a good bio with a fitting background story. I just won´t accept a character with no information behind the pony.

1.3 No godmodding, Mary-Sues or Powerplaying. See The General Guide to Roleplaying for more detail.

1.4 Proper spelling and grammar is expected at all times. We will not kick you out for minor typos. Also please create posts that are clear and good to read.

1.5 Posts must be at the minimum of 800 characters. It is highly encouraged though that you write detailed and quality posts.

1.6 This RP is expected to go at a slower pace than most. No double posting so please, wait until there was a reply from another pony.

1.7 To keep activity up, there will be an activity check every week. If you have not posted in several days, your character will be ejected from the RP and your spot will be re-opened for new roleplayers to join. If you are going to be absent from the RP for an extended period of time. Tell us. We can move on and fill you in when you get back.

1.8 Romance is also allowed in this RP if you wish it. As long as it is clean, I will not stop it. I still want this story to be something that forum members of all ages can enjoy.

1.9 No foul language is allowed within this roleplay! This is going to be a My Little Pony story as close as it can be with the creators of the show.

1.10 No cast Characters are allowed. This is to be Original Characters Only

1.11 You will accept every additional rule given you by 2.) Advanced Rules and FAQ

1.12 You will accept every additional rule given you by 3.) Managing system

1.13 If needed, I will add rules to balance the roleplay as I see fit.

1.14 For 3.) Managing system, we want you to write some sentences about doing your job in at least 3-4 posts within a month (real time month).

 

 

2.) Advanced Rules and FAQ

 

2.1  Q: What characters are allowed on this roleplay?
A: Earth ponies , Pegasi, Unicorns, Griffins, Dragons (baby or teenager), Zebras, Donkeys, Changelings, Pets,

2.2  Q: I can play critters / pets? What is allowed?
A: Cats, dogs, birds, bunnies, turtles, reptiles…
Additional rules:
2.2.1 A pet does not have to earn bits. It has to find an owner.
2.2.2 Your pet can´t talk except to other pets. Only your owner is able to “get what you want to say”.

2.3   Q: Can I play as a monster or alicorn?
A: No, you can´t. We assume that you think about bit scary monsters who actually don´t have a real society like manticores, hydras, fully grown dragons, gargoyles, demons, gods… also aliens from space, time travelers or full powered alicorns are counted into this rule. No, you can´t play them unless you have a real good background story which is unlikely most of the time.

2.4   Q: Can I play as a special pony?
A: We don´t care if you play a former Alicorn, a Pegasus with magical abilities, an awakened pony from dark ages or even Luna´s student. But keep it realistic with a good background story; also see Rule 1.1 and 1.2 from the rp rules.
Additional rules:
2.4.1 You are not allowed to be family-related to the main protagonists of MLP FIM. See rule 1.10 from the rp rules.
2.4.2 We don´t allow murders, psychopaths, assassins or any Pony with an unrealistic dark background. Of course you can play a character which had a hard time, got cursed or something else… but keep it realistic!
2.4.3 If you play something that wasn´t within your bio at the time we allowed you to play, you will be kicked.

2.5  Q: Can I use weapons / tools / technology?
A: This isn´t an adventure roleplay. If you are a blacksmith you can of course create weapons or armor for the royal guards, but you don´t use them. Of course you are allowed to have something like a walkman, a watch or music box… but don´t try something that won´t fit into the MLP FIM world! Also, we want you to write into your characters bio what your character uses!

2.6  Q: I want to play something else that wasn´t listed on the rules. What to do?
A: Contact one of the GM´s and ask him with a detailed description about what you want to do. We will discuss everything and give you our answer if it´s allowed… or not. But be ensured, we will be fair and square.

 

2.7  Q: I don´t have the time for regular play, but I want to join!
A: If you are an unsettled player but want to join this roleplay, because a friend is in here or you just want to make a short appearance, we offer you guest-play permission. You will have a fixed job (like a trader or a supplier) and trade with shop owners or other players for just some posts before you are allowed to leave for a longer time. A trader will be NOT taking part in the managing system 3.)

It would be nice to know if there are any ponies who would like my idea and to be a test player. This project was created entirely by myself and some ideas of the "The forbidden Temple RP"- Group.

Within the first test there will be 8 open Slots. If i notice that more players are interested i can open more slots. I personally will just be the GM and manage the calculation system and try to balance everything. I hope that every player will give me his personal impression and report bugs or difficulties to me so that i can adjust the roleplay rules and the management system. The Game will be prepared and start if all Slots are taken.

I'm actually highly interested in this RP, but I do have some questions. I would love to join in with my OC, PInoak Stringhoof, however, he already has a portable wagon home with a built in puppet stage, and his job would be travel be traveling from town to town. I don't want him to be a guest player either. If Pinoak joined in, in order to compensate for the wagon and not making him a guest, I'd be willing to start him off with a lot less money, his pay would be made off of ticket sales, and have him come back to the town to prepare for his next shows. And then I can describe how the shows went each week.

 

So what do you think about this? And maybe this character's job could help develop the system further in case there are others who want to be showponies or something on those lines. Also, the character link is in my signature.

That sounds awesome, I'm glad I could help develop the game. And if you need some help brainstorming some ideas, I'll be happy to help. I might not know the calculations, but I do know idea development.

I added into the calculation that a merchant or a trader who already has a wagon or something like that gets less starting money. That would be ok i think. And since you don´t have maintenance costs for a house, i created something smaller. A traders  / merchant-tax as long as you stay in the town. It´s not that high like maintenance costs.

 

For the GM´s it´s now easy, they just jump into your pony formular and make an "x" somewhere and voila, you are a merchant with new conditions. I will work on some adjustments, but that should do it. Your idea was integrated now, and i am very thankful!

3.2 Special conditions

Sometimes players do have good ideas to enhance the roleplay, add some very good points into the roleplay and try to make it even better. It´s highly appreciated if you want to play a job that is not listed or if you want to be a merchant without being a guest. Thanks to player LeJAKoJAK there will be a merchant system online within the calculations.

3.2.1 Merchants get less money but don´t have maintenance costs

3.2.2 Starting money can change if you choose to be a merchant / actor / trader

3.2.3 On good Shows / Trades you make you will get bonuses

3.2.4 If you have a wagon to sleep in, you don´t have to pay maintenance or rent, but small taxes.

Of course you can join!

 

But be reminded that the first play will be an alpha-testing. I can not garantuee that everything will work, also i will use this try to find bugs and make corrections for my calculation and management system.

Hi everypony!

Sorry for double posting, but the roleplay has started now: Hoofington Roleplay Project

Latest update on the roleplay system:

- Tax system fully functional

- Map 60% done

- Messaging System including reports fully functional

- Trader System error corrections, now fully functional

I am setting the roleplay system now to month 1 and a normal difficulty. I will control your actions within the roleplay and add your job or your houses if i can read that you got them. Own NPC´s can be created by you, i don´t have a problem with that.

 

The report like anounced will send by a second account on MLP every beginning of a new ingame month to you with your actual stats. It will start with your first post.

Hello Darkstorm, thanks for your sign up. Yes, there are free spots left within this roleplay. I looked at your OC and i don´t have problems with him being a pony/wolf hybrid since this roleplay isn´t canon. But being an "omnivorous" Pony, which means eating flesh too, doesn´t fit within this roleplay. If you are able to change that, i will think about your character again. I didn´t find an occupation on your character so there is the question what your job would be in the roleplay. Also, you should know that this roleplay is within the advanced roleplay section, that means you have to write 800 characters per post. Please change the mentioned things, otherwise i have to decline your sign up.

Hey Iron Wing, thank you for your consideration. I'll jump right to it; while Darkstorm is omnivorous he refrains from eating any sort of meat whilst in the company of other ponies and will stick to a vegetarian diet even while alone, if he is in a populated area. Essentially he is herbivorous.

As for his occupation, Darkstorm is a freelancer(takes miscellaneous jobs that are made available to him), but if there is no work for him under that category he also runs a private courier sevice to deliver materials for other ponies and is paid periodically by his clients to reserve these services. I have added this to his description.

I do not know if these clarifications are enough to permit him entry, please do let me know what you think.

Hi there PDW! I read the story of your character and i am pleased that you created an unique OC Alicorn character with a broken horn. Like i mentioned in the rules, your character is welcome within this roleplay. It would be nice to know what occupation Fiera has to earn money or what she is looking for so that i can create this job within the joblist. Also one question: because of the broken horn, she can´t use magic, correct?

Yes, she cannot use magic. Even if she did have it available, she wouldn't use it.

As for jobs, thats the part i'm kinda stuck at. I don't know what kind of job she would take. Acrobatics teacher maybe?

While I disagree that a funeral director doesn't fit within a "happy play" roleplay, I do see your point with the population. It would be a slow business without something else supplementing it. Though i'll have to put some thought into what other kind of job I would go with.

Your post is fine as long as you get things started and running within the roleplay. I am excited how this Alpha-Testing of my roleplay will turn out. I´m looking forward to listen to your ideas to build a nice and unique roleplay world. ^^
