I somepony could point me towards a guide or good software, I would be very grateful. Watch out for panthers!
Hansel 1,512 April 24, 2013 Share April 24, 2013 (edited) Heyho. What kinda art or you going for? I'm going to arrogantly assume it's of the visual sorts, most likely drawing, and probably digital going by what you said about looking for software. If that's the case, then there's quite a variety of software available. (Though I do recommend pencil and paper as well. ) If you haven't got any money to throw around, or want to practice some more before spending a load of money, then there's a couple of great free programs you can try. If your going for digital painting and drawings, then Paint Tool Sai is exactly what you need. It's similar to Adobe Photoshop, but much less advanced. A lot of digital and concept artist use it to paint or sketch, and then import the file into something like Photoshop to add extra lighting and effects. Photoshop is a lot better, but also costs money. It might be a good idea to practice using Sai, and then buy Photoshop when you feel more confident with digital skills. If you're trying to do some vector art, then there's a piece of software called Inkscape. Personally, I hate this program, but a lot vector artists seem to really like it. Of course, the better vectoring software would be Adobe Illustrator, but that's quite expensive. Hope that helped. I also recommend buying a drawing tablet if you don't already have one, using a mouse is like drawing with a brick. If you do need one, Wacom have a great variety. NightSky 7 April 24, 2013 Share April 24, 2013 Well, are good at drawing art? If you are, try doing that. If not, you could use paint on Windows 7. It would be a good place to start. I can try looking up some good paint programs, if you want.
