Jaws 2 (1978) A really solid sequel to a great original film. The fact that they cared enough to get John Williams to reprise his score with lots of great new material says they cared about making a better than average sequel, and that’s what they got. I’d pay to see this one just for the score, but everything about it is strong and entertaining. 8/10

Cable Guy (1996) *Spoilers ahead* Really funny and insane; Jim Carrey at his unraveled best. The man has no shame, and that translates into some great comedy, well-directed by Ben Stiller. Matthew Broderick plays a good straight man and Owen Wilson has a great scene playing a totally phony jerk who ends up the butt of some bathroom humor. This movie plays best for those who remember the many classic TV shows it references, but it’s still funny regardless. I know the ‘message’ of the movie is that too much TV rots the brain, but in the end, when all the TVs go out and one would-be viewer is shown reaching for a book instead, as though the cure for this TV malady has been rediscovered, it fails to realize that books are no less mind-rot than TV. Both deliver stories made to transport viewers from their day-to-day lives and only differ in the format they use to do so. Only bad media rots the brain, and what’s good or bad is really up to the viewer to decide. 7.5/10

Draft Day (2014) An engaging movie about, you guessed it, Draft Day for the NFL. I didn't expect much when I started watching it but it kept me interested all the way through. Not bad and actually somewhat exciting. 7/10

Went to watch the rerelease of Revenge of the Sith. Loved it when it came out in 2005, loved just as much as it came back now

Superman The Movie (1978) A freaking masterpiece and maybe the best super hero movie ever. This was made before such high profile movies could be churned out with CG and modern technology. And yet it looks better than anything I’ve seen in recent years. The characters, settings and practical effects are all so real and beautiful. John Williams’ music is immortal and Christopher Reeve IS Superman! Accept no substitutes! This is a brilliantly directed work of art with great performances and a story that never bogs down with too many convoluted plots in an attempt to make it seem more ‘epic.’ It’s the definition of epic without trying. 10/10

The Wrong Missy (2020) This is kinda fun and makes the most of a man’s mixing up his dream girl with his nightmare former blind date, both sharing the same first name, and ending up accidentally inviting the latter on a romantic trip to Hawaii. The result is pretty outrageous and horrible for the hapless man who made the blunder. The humor is fast paced and non-stop, but often veers over the line as so many comedies do when they come from David Spade, Rob Schneider and many of the former SNL group often associated with Adam Sandler’s productions. So I enjoyed it, but with a handful of reservations. 6.5/10

Warfare (2025) still stands as the most recent movie I've seen.

I've got a challenge for you @Dreambiscuit:pistachio:  Are you gonna see the new Superman movie coming out this summer?  Prepped as movie one of the DC Universe and production that took place in Atlanta.

I like Superman 1978 as well. Very good film without a doubt. This is a story about a man who with his special powers, he had to hide this power with his double life as Clark Kent. Exposing his powers to the general public too often would make him an easier target for villains to destroy him, especially if word got out about his weakness to kryptonite, and he only really used his powers when the situation was dire, he did not use his powers frivolously like some characters do. A secret identity trope is commonly used in fiction, but it is a realistic way to tell a story like that, because if superheroes did not work in secrecy, they would be more vulnerable to attack.

Freaky Friday (2003) I always decide to rewatch this movie on Fridays, not every Friday, just on occasional Fridays.

Spirited Away (2001) A perfect Studio Ghibli movie. Maybe the best of Miyazaki’s ‘big’ movies. Just plain perfect. 10/10

Arrietty (2010) Beautiful movie. And interesting to compare the original Japanese dialog with the British and American dubs; each having some little variations that expand on one aspect of the story or another. 9/10

My Little Pony The Movie (2017) I was wondering if this is the last perfect movie made in the world. I can’t think of anything better made since this masterpiece came out. They had a lot of high expectations to live up to and they slam-dunked it. There are few movies I consider perfect and this is one of them. Flawless classic of MLP goodness. 10/10

The Accountant (2016) This started out pretty good, with an interesting title character and plenty to hold the attention. The second half of the movie slowed down a lot though, with too much exposition that wasn’t necessary to the plot. Okay but far from perfect. 6/10

Chronicle (2012) This movie shows what super powers can do in the hands of irresponsible teens who fail to see a bigger picture than using it to play pranks on bystanders. Half the movie was spent on such frivolities when it could have cut to the meaningful stuff much sooner and given us a stronger movie. This movie has the makings of its own franchise but failed to launch, so to speak. There's lots of room for sequels with all the things that didn't happen in this movie. By the way, the Director's Cut is way worse than the original theatrical version. 6/10

What does @TheRockARooster think of My Little Pony:  The Movie (2017)?

Something to keep in mind @Dreambiscuit, Ben Affleck is at it again with another Accountant movie:sealed:  You're so right about Chronicle!  It's brought to us by Josh Trank!  The same guy who directed the atrocious Fant4stic (2015) movie:mlp_gag:  We can all hope if the MCU's Fantastic Four:  First Steps (2025) can do the very first superhero family justice.

Sinners (Second Viewing) - Still the best movie of the year so far. Thrilling, brutal, sexy, and poignant.  10 out of 10.

Thunderbolts* - The best MCU movie in a long time. Great action, the humor isn't overdone, solid performances, and it's surprisingly emotional. out of 10.

I saw half of the Equistria Girls first movie a few days back! Now I'm finally getting to see where the character Sunshine Shimmer came from! After months of constantly seeing refrences of her but not knowing who she was.
