I think I automatically made it inevitable that The Doctor is gonna try and create some romance in the RP. I've mentioned several times now that The Doctor is lonely in the RP, and I think that will mean one of you will be targeted.  

What time is it in the RP? I'd like to know so I can time it just right to do what I have planned. Would you say 2 hours before sundown, as your last post seemed to state something about a darkening sky?

Well, I put a dark sky to the west, as in dark clouds looming over Canterlot. You know, bad omens and stuff. xD

 

But I figure it's about 3pm at the end of my post, which should give you about four hours until it's totally dark. Rain is not in the weather report, so that gives you an advantage!

It's okay. One does not simply for a role player: not to post and let the imagination flow fades out.

I understand that you don't want to leave anyone behind, but I think it's okay unless their action forces the other players to move forwards. In my case, we're only talking to each other without any other player nearby. I think that's fine. The problem is when all the players are gathering (adventuring together) and two or more of us keep role playing, ignoring the other nearby.

I think three is better. If we do two, it is easy to hang on that rule and post immediately after the second post. It is tempting, but three is stricter and allows less people to be left behind. Most of the players seem to be doing okay with the current pace. I'm just concerned about Lady Rainicorn getting left behind. @, can you tell us your thoughts on the matter?

 

The reason I changed it from three to two was because Sky was talking about wasting time. What I've been trying to say though, is that this RP is not about speed. Then again, I don't want to dial it too far back, because I've seen RPs lose momentum and die after the GM did that. It's really a very fine line to walk, when you're dealing with several players with different schedules.

 

I'm going to need to input from everyone on this matter before we can decide on something more permanent. I figured if everyone agreed on a quicker pace we could do that. However, I did say that anyone with issues about the new rule need to speak up, and the Doctor spoke up... so with that, I think I need to dial it back to three posts in between to be safe.

 

@@Sky Warden, can you work with that? Remember, and I say this again, we are not aiming for speed here. We are aiming for quality writing, and an environment where people can have the time they need to post that kind of quality. I know you want to quicken the interaction with Silent Dawn, but if you post too much, others might not have time to post because they're spending it all reading yours. Does that make sense?

Those players have to pace with their own common sense. Pacing is a tricky matter. There's a moment where some players are on quick scene (say, running from changelings) while the others are in a slow scene (traveling, camping, etc). In this case, the players in the fast paced scene have to post more than the others in the slow paced scene. As long as it doesn't break the time boundary (LOL!), it's fine. Like, if a character says that he's sleeping, and suddenly wake up before the others finish their night shift, that's forbidden.

 

The point is, there are some occasions where some people do more things than others in the same duration of time.

This RP is: Not. About. Speed. The goal is: Quality. You didn't have the chance to post yesterday. Perhaps you should consider that others may also be unable to post for a day or two. I would prefer people to post when they have the time to write to the best of their ability, rather than throwing their posts together to meet some deadline.

 

I'm seriously asking you to please stop insisting on speed, to observe the rules, and to stop complaining about them in the OOC thread.
