Anyone who wasn't at least somewhat raised in the Internet generation is going to have issues with it. Let's face it, everything changed around the year 2000. Parents who are behind the times are still around, and will be for another couple decades or so. Frankly, unless for some reason, they suddenly open their minds, there's really not much hope for them. We can only hope their children are intelligent enough to think for themselves. If that means they have to bypass aggressive parental controls, so be it. If it means hiding things from their parents, so be it. At least in my experience, more aggressive rules lead to more creative rule-breakers and rebelry... which is hardly a bad thing. Rebels built this country, after all.

 

Children are the future. Let's hope for everyone's sake that they can still learn to think for themselves...

    I didn't read the article but I agree with @Fivefs, I think the culture in general has moved more toward sexualizing anything and everything. The sleek, stylized designs of the Ponies of the show are closer to what we are forced to consider visually appealing, not for the purpose of warping kids minds, or trying to give little boys Boners. It's just how style has evolved.  I mean, Snow White had a plumper face, and more modest dress than say, Ariel or Jasmine. It' just the direction things have gone I think. 

   Things in general are more sexualized. Cars, appliances, Even the Xbox 360 has some sexy curves. When I was young, Our TV was a Cube with big clunky dials and fake wood on the sides, and to play vidya games, we shoved grey squares into larger grey squares. Now things are smooth, sleek, slim, and shiny, from the products we're supposed to buy, to the models we're supposed to envy.

You have to take the "according to parents statement" with a grain of salt. People have become overly concerned with wiping every bit of violence, sexuality, profanity, or anything remotely questionable out of any media children have access to. This often leads to them seeing it where it does not exist. But yeah, I'm not worried about it. Anyone with half a brain can do a Google search to find out how to get around parental controls, which I think are a very lazy way of "protecting" one's offspring. Those don't protect anyone from anything, they just impose on children someone else's idea of "good," and parents don't even bother to check whether they agree with those ideas or not. Sheeple, indeed...
