Before Firebolt could say anything, age was interrupted by someone pleading for Windy's help. What was odd was that Windy was the one she was directly asking for help from. There were other ponies around, including herself, that could just as much help. Infact more, seeing as how long it took Windy to help.

 

Firebolt was somewhat shocked by the body language the stallion had used. She had no time to react, though, as Windy came back quickly. "Oh... No trouble." She said politely. /"Even if that did seem overly rude..."/ She added, mentally.

Nightraxx couldn't help but see the uncertainty in Sorrow's eyes, as well as confusion. He himself was shaking a alittle bit now...He looked like he wanted to say something really important and really profound....but he was unsure of how to say ot.

 

His mind was racing with thoughts....; thoughts about what happened this morning, when they awoke, about the events on the deck, where Sorrow saved another passenger and almost drowned herself...about the conversation with Dogboots and Moonbeam...and what both had told him..."Tell her how much you care about her...tell her about your feelings..."

 

These words echoed in his mind again and again...and he wanted to show it to her...a way to show it...

 

He then slowly took the guitar from the spot he left it at before...he took a deep breath and started playing a familiar melody...it was the song that Nightraxx had composed for her and she had perfected...He played it with as much heart as he had to give and with all the extra harmonies, that Sorrow had blessed the song with.

Sorrow continued to blink innocently at Nightraxx, until she started to hear music playing... That song sounded so familiar to her... What was Nightraxx playing? This song... It was HER song!! The same one that Nightraxx made for her! That's when she blinked one more time, and saw him... In a whole new way.

 

She starting to tear up and sniff a bunch, but this wasn't because she was entirely scared... She moved out from the bed, and walked over to Nightraxx... Then... She just gave a monstrous hug around his neck. She had found her friend...

Sorrow continued to blink innocently at Nightraxx, until she started to hear music playing... That song sounded so familiar to her... What was Nightraxx playing? This song... It was HER song!! The same one that Nightraxx made for her! That's when she blinked one more time, and saw him... In a whole new way.

 

She starting to tear up and sniff a bunch, but this wasn't because she was entirely scared... She moved out from the bed, and walked over to Nightraxx... Then... She just gave a monstrous hug around his neck. She had found her friend...

 

Nightraxx had been playing the song passionately and with all the emotions, that he could ever feel and hoped, it would make Sorrow forget or overcome the Nightmare she had...then he saw Sorrow, who seemed to recognize it...she blinked...and seemed to recognize him again...he watched her tear up...

 

And then...she did something, that surprised Nightraxx, but made him incredibly happy at the same time...she moved from the bed and approached him...and then hugged him...

 

The feeling he felt now was indescribable. He was tearing up as this point as well. He felt the warmth coming from Sorrow's gentle embrace. He hugged her back softly, wanting to return her kindess and warmth. All the pain and worries he had felt on this cruise until now were pushed back.

 

"S-Sorrow..." he stuttered.

Waiting for Scamps to get him back into his wheelchair turned out not to be such a good idea. Scamps exactly had done what Airy hadn't wanted her to: She had overdone it. She was completely worn out and was unable to keep her balance. And Airy was lying there, unable to help.

But he had to do something...

He had to reach his wheelchair. It was hard, but not impossible to reach it. He had to help Scamps.

But he was too slow. Windy Runner was faster.

He first dropped Scamps and then Airy's wheelchair right next to him - both in a very rude way, just as if he just helped because he... had to? Obviously he hadn't done that voluntarily, otherwise he wouldn't have treated Scamps like that and spoken his words to Airy.

Airy kept his eyes on Windy Runner while he left. "Thank you...", he said in a frustrated way. If he at least had given Airy a chance to talk...

But there were more important things right now. Scamps was unconscious, and her body was completely devitalized. She needed some rest, something to drink, a snack...

Airy just got her on his back and ran to his room. He unlocked it and put Scamps down on his bed as gently as he could. He pulled the blanket over her body to keep her warm and wiped away her sweat with a washrag. The other fore hoof held Scamps' hoof.

"Come on, Scamps, wake up... say something... please..."

Scamps' eyes slpwly opened to the sight of Airy leaning over her. She cracked a tiny smile. "I'm fine...I just need some rest. I'm not too terribly hurt just...just exhausted. I should be fine in half an hour or so. Maybe nice nap will get me back."

 

"Airy?" She added before drifting back to sleep. She grabbed his hoof as she said these words. "Wha....what happenned after I passed out? Did....did he help you?"

Airy couldn't hide his relief when Scamps finally opened her eyes again. She still was very weak, but she was able to speak.

When she asked about Windy Runner, Airy nodded. "Yes, he did help... He brought you and my wheelchair to me, and I wish I could be grateful for that... but he didn't look like he actually wanted to help. Hejust dropped you right in front of me, literally, and said something like 'That doesn't change anything' or so... But the important thing is that you're okay Please... please don't do that ever again. I was so worried about you when you fainted..."

Until the moment when Scamps fell asleep again, Airy did not let go her hoof. "Sleep tight... I love you."

((Haha what did you guys expect would happen? Scamps fainting would magically make Windy start acting nice again? Dude's got pride enough for three ponies, so he's gonna be really stubborn. He'll come around though... Eventually))

 

Windy sat quietly at the table across from Bolt, fiddling with his drink and occasionally taking sips from it. In hindsight, he thought, he probably should've handled the situation a bit better...

 

"Windy, an opportunity to let go of your arrogance and act like a decent pony being literally fell at your hooves, and you barely did the right thing! I mean, you were seriously considering dumping her like a sack of potatoes in front of Airy! But I didn't, and that's what counts brain! Sure, sure, but what was up with saying 'this doesn't change anything' to Airy? You're not normally this bitter or, frankly, this much of an ass! What's going on? I don't know, ok?! I just... They embarrassed me! But you were so in the wrong it wasn't even funny! You don't know what you're talking about brain! Whatever Windy... Just look at Bolt for your explanation! She likes you, yes, but will that attraction hold if you keep acting like a jerk? I should think not! So pull yourself together, and go back to being the nice, sincere stallion she walked in on sleeping in her room! Forget Airy and Scamps! Ugh... You really drive me crazy sometimes brain.... I do my best Windy...."

 

Not looking at Bolt, but rather, at a spot of table between them, Windy said, barely audibly, "I'm sorry Bolt. I probably could have reacted to that a bit... better."

Ocean looked around. "The...stern...I believe." She said, glancing towards the back of the ship.

She looked up at Nightfall and smiled. "Well, lets be off." She said, as she happily walked down towards the back of the ship. *I wonder what he's thinking about...he's been awfully quiet.* She thought, glancing back at Nightfall. She smiled and moved back to walk next to him. "So...you ever been on a cruise before?" She asked.

 

"No, I've never been on a cruise before. I've been on an abandoned boat before, but that's different, and an interesting story..."

He sighed slightly.

"Have you ever been on a cruise before?"

"Getting to know her... well, congrats. You've decided that since the other two never showed up, you'd try with Ocean? After all, she doesn't seem that bad, so you could be making a good decision here..."

She stopped in her track's and stared at the ground before her. The pool was full of ponies and the ground all around it was soaking wet. She forced a smile and casually moved the water away from the stairs leading up to the bar, using her magic...

She began talking about her nightmares, her mother running away, everything about her past...

 

But it was one word at a time, and she stuttered throughout most of it. And it was pretty long for her to finish....

"Ocean, do you have some kind of... of, er- some kind of reaction when you come in contact with water?"

He almost mumbled it, so only really she could hear it, besides himself.

Nightraxx had been shedding tears now as well, tears of joy, tears of relief and tears of salvation from the all the pain, which wrenched his heart over the the last years...

 

He gently stroke throught her soft and beautiful blonde mane...enjoying her warmth and closeness...she laid on his lap and had curled herself up into the ball, which Nightraxx had seen so many times before, but now...it was a ball of comfort and warmth, instead of fear and anxiety...

 

That's when he was finally able to say the words...the words which filled his heart out like a soft cloud...

 

He took a very deep breath and gently said "Sorrow...I...love you...i love you more than anything..."

At Windy's statement, Firebolt pinned her ears back. She would generally say all was well, but it wasn't. What could she say that wouldn't be a lie, but also not get him mad? The answer was silence. There might have been other, more correct answers. But, the mare remained silent, drinking her drink occasionally.

Scamps wome up the next morning, as her eyes fluttered open. She nearly jumped out of bed at first. This isn't my room...oh wait....I remember. Passing out, Airybrought me here. Yeah. That's it.

 

She turned around to see Airy sleeping next to her. She didn't remember much of the conversation before she passed out the second time. She remembered hearing that Windy helpedm but was relunctant and rude.

 

As always. What Bolt still sees in him, past his fake charm, I have no idea.

 

That was about all of it she could remember.

 

Hopefully it isn't important.

 

She looked at Airy, still sleeping beside her. "Hey," she whispered. "I'm feeling better....if you wanted to know."

"Yeah... I think it would still look really nice, even for those who aren't couples. Somethings are romantic for couples and nice for others, right?"

The bartender set down his cola, and he immediately took a sip of it, blushing slightly.

 

Ocean smiled. "Yea I suppose that's true..." She said, sipping her tea. She sighed and looked away from the horizon to look at Nightfall...who in her mind was much much nicer than the horizon. *Oh Celestia he's so cute...wait, I'm staring, I shouldn't stare.* She thought, looking down at her tea.
