Ok guys I know that there is already a thread out there that talks about meeting up with other bronys ay Bronycon and what you all plan to do there, but I have a few questions, and I'm sure I'm not the only one. This is the thread where you can ask questions about the con and hopefully receive some good answers!

 

I'll start:

 

1) How much does BronyCon cost?

2) Who will be at BronyCon?

3) What kind of panels/entertainment will be there?

4) Will there be a vendors room?
5) Is the con strictly pony or are there other things mixed in as well?

6) Will it be safe? I am a 15 year old female and while I respect all bronys, I want my experience to be a good one

7) What will there be to do for fun?

8) What kind of brony fun activities are planned?

9) Will there be a photoshoot for all the wonderful cosplayers? (Including myself  )

10) Where will it be held?

1) How much does BronyCon cost?

Depends on what kind of pass you get. A standard three day pass is $70.

Friday/Saturday only: $45

Sunday only: $35

Senior discount three day pass: $40

 

There are also various "Sponsor" passes which grant you certain special privileges or perks.

Sponsor Pass: $125

Platinum Sponsor Pass: $1000

 

Other sponsor passes are not listed due to being sold out.

 

Children 5 years and under may attend for free, and children 13 years and under may have their tickets discounted by $30. Note that all children 13 years and under will need a parent or guardian with them at the convention.

2) Who will be at BronyCon?

Anyone and everyone! Besides your ordinary fans, expect to see a lot of high profile bronies from the community. There will be musicians, artists, game developers, and more. Even some of our very own staff members will be there! There will also be special VIP guests such as show staff and voice actors, though few have been confirmed at this point.

 

3) What kind of panels/entertainment will be there?

Not much has been confirmed at this point but believe me, there will be plenty to see and do. Usually panels consist of video game demonstrations, voice actor discussion/Q&A, music production, art tutorials, and other creative aspects of the community. As for entertainment, there will probably be things like cosplay contests, sing-a-longs, various games, LARPing, card trading, episode viewing, and more. Also, be sure to stick around for BronyPalooza. With two days, twelve hours, and 33 musicians, it's going to be the largest pony music concert ever!

 

4) Will there be a vendors room?

Yes. There is no list of vendors yet, but with about 140 tables, it'll be the largest vendor room BronyCon has ever had.

 

5) Is the con strictly pony or are there other things mixed in as well?

I'm not sure what's allowed, but you won't see much besides pony. In fact, I don't remember seeing anything non-pony last time, except Spider-man, but he's an exception.

 

6) Will it be safe? I am a 15 year old female and while I respect all bronys, I want my experience to be a good one

It should be as safe as any other convention. There will be plenty of security and BC staff members and with the large crowd, I doubt anyone would try anything. If they do, there will be plenty of witnesses and they'll probably get kicked out.

Not sure, but there likely will be.

 

10) Where will it be held?

In the beautiful and spacious Baltimore Convention Center, located at 1 West Pratt St. Baltimore, Maryland. If you're planning on staying at a hotel, there are plenty located nearby, though the Baltimore Hilton, which is connected to the convention center, has already been filled up.

Oh my! Thank you for the detailed response Apple Bloom! This really helps me picture Bronycon better in my head. I would LOVE to go but I still need to work out the details, hence the Q&A. I figured I wasn't the only one who wanted to know more! XD

 

Anyway I hope to meet some of my brony pals if I get the opportunity to go! Squee!

As if my parents would come to some strange convention full of men who like My Little Pony.

This may be true since 95% of bronys are male, but there are that percentage of female pegasisters, such as myself, and they will be there as well! I don't know if that helps, but I would be much happier if some female friends were there as well! XD

I'm going but, unfortunately, I'm not female.    While this is my first Brony Con, I have been to several Transformers conventions and those are about 2/3 or 3/4 male.  I've attended with several female friends and I've never known them to have a problem or feel out of place due to the gender ratio.  Ironically, I expect Brony Con to have more guys than Botcon, LOL!
