@@Shadowlux100,

Hello there. We already happened to have a topic dedicated to sharing what it would take for us to leave the fandom, and as this was essentially the purpose of the questions you asked, your thread has been merged with the older one.

Nothing.

I'll be here to the very end. As long as the fandom and/or show is still alive: I'll still be part of the fandom or the rest of it if it becomes that way.

Canon death of a major character. Which will never happen, so I'm here to stay.

Granted, the AliTwi dilemma rustled my jimmies in a manner I've hardly ever seen (and continues to do so to an extent), but worst-case I can just block the event out and not care about anything past S3E12. I'll have turned my back on the show, yes, but most certainly not us.

Indeed.

Not sure.

Back when I joined a year or so ago, it was magical. Now, it still sort of is, but not as much.

Now, if Twilicorn and Equestria Girls (god forbid) escalated into what Sonic 06 and every Sonic show before X (which was the worst of them all) are to the Sonic Fandom, I'd probably leave. But for now, I'm here, and perfectly fine.

I chose "for as long as I consider the show to be good" because honestly, community or no community, I would just have trouble keeping myself invested in a show that has lost touch with everything that made it good to begin with. And if I can't stay invested in the show, I can't stay invested in the community...that's just how I am, I guess.

Although in my eyes, total ruination of FiM has not yet happened, and as far as I'm concerned, the whole AliTwi (yes, that's what I call it) situation seems like the natural progression of things and will only serve to open up multiple plot possibilities. To be even more optimistic, I honestly don't ever see such a downward spiral occurring as long as the key writers remain on-staff and continue to strive for the "all ages" appeal they've been so good at maintaining thus far.

And on the off-chance that the show were to take a massive dive, I don't think I'd entirely drop out of the fandom. But my enthusiasm for the show and extended community would definitely wane and I'd eventually find something new to obsess over have a healthy interest in. As sad as the thought of leaving the herd makes me...there'll always be a new herd to join. Or maybe a flock...or pride? Pack? You get the idea.

ANYway, that's all just hypothetical. As I said, I'm pretty darn optimistic about the show's future. Twi said it first, didn't she: "Everything's gonna be just fine." tongue.png

Here's the thing. Season One was good. Season Two was good. Season Three was good. Those facts aren't going to change. They'll always be good, even if everything else is terrible. So I'm not "leaving the fandom" over anything.

I've survived being a Furry, a Sonic fan, a gamer, and even a Highlander fan. Man has not yet CONCEIVED of a level of drama and bullshit that could run my stubborn ass off, especially from a fandom this awesome.

The fandom as it is now could crumble and burn and I'd be one of the survivors waiting for the next generation of fans to find the show so I could help guide them.

I don't think I could EVER leave the fandom. Not even if the Brony community were to die out and it wasn't popular (in terms of size) anymore. I will always have an attraction to the show, and enjoy what they had brought me and gave to me. Even if they were to completely change the show in a bad way, I'd most likely still stick around to see what they produce (me being optimistic like that ;)). Your support for the producers/writers/etc and content may dwindle, but you should never leave a fandom.

For me the show can never be 'ruined' because I never took it seriously in the first place. I understand it's merits and it's shortcomings and the fact that it is intended for an audience of a different gender and age group than I am. What's more important to me is fan content. If that starts going down the tubes it's lights out for me.

"I'll stay in the fandom for as long as I consider the show to be good" was my answer.

However, for me, this means I will stay in the fandom for 'forever'. I will always consider this show good. It has awesome writers and even though there are times I think, Oh crap, this was a horrible decision (I said that to Alicorn Twilight), I always realize after thinking about it a bit, that it was for a reason, and that I will probably love the direction the show takes. I'm one of those fans who shakes off negativity!

I like to enjoy the show for being a good show, not getting butthurt over things that happen in the show. After all, Season 4 sounds like it's going to be awesome so why complain about Alicorn Twilight (or Equestria Girls!) and just enjoy the show we all know and love!

I think ill be on my death bed handing down my MLP dvd collection long before i leave the fandom..... Sure the show is great, but the community os just so awesome. Nothing, that Hazbro does to the show will make me leave my fellow bronies behind. Simple.

Even if the show does end up diving headfirst off the proverbial deep end, the main appeal for me is still the tons of expertly made fan content. So long as people still continue to create and put out great stories, artwork, ect, then I'll continue to stick around. I haven't completely abandoned a fandom just yet and I'm not about to start now.

The show itself can never be ruined for me, at least not in any way I can imagine; and though I have seen a decent share of fan content that I may not agree with, the vast majority of other great fan content more than outweighs it.

What it will take (and this is something that's taken me out of other fandoms) is when/if I start to feel overly alienated by the fandom. That is, that it changes in a such a way that I just don't feel like it was the same pleasant group it used to be. Other fandoms I've been in began to develop divisions and factionalism that was just too great, and many fans had a sense of elitism and arrogance about them, to the point that it really didn't seem like a group of fellow fans and just seemed like everyone hated one another. That just left a bad taste in my mouth, and caused me to leave them. Thankfully this doesn't seem to be the case with the MLP fandom (for now).

Another thing that'd cause me to leave would be if the series' popularity began to die down to the point that the fandom itself dries up. This was the case with one or two fandoms I've been in, where it just seemed like nobody really cared about it any more, and it felt pointless to be part of it. Again, thankfully MLP is still going strong.

Mind that in either of these cases, I'd still love the show, but something like the above happening would cause me to stop interacting with and leave the community.

For me to leave this awesome fandom. Well it would take a lot. I would stay as long as I could. As long as there were people to talk about ponies with i would stay. But if there was no one to even talk to I would leave.

On a completely unrelated topic this is my 100th post!

I'm here for the show, not the fans. Otherwise I probably would've left by now. I noticed that "The show is ruined" option. I pity the fool who's faith is so easily shattered.

I am a Brony. I love being a Brony, Twilight is best pony.

I'll probably never leave the fandom... maybe... but the producers will have to do something crazy stupid to make me stop watching the show. Something along the longs of killing off Fluttershy, or something similar. So yeah, never.

I like the community too much to just leave. There're already things in the show that I'm not super fond of, (most of which are probably just dumb little nitpicks) but I don't think they'll do something so drastic, so out of line, so ssssssstupid, that it'll force me to stop watching the show.

Honestly, I would never leave this fandom. I've made so many good friends on here and the community as a whole is just awesome :)

Honestly, I'm rather glad I found this community.

1. All of the background ponies were deleted?

They aren't the show, so no

2. CMC got their cutie marks?

I want to see them get their cutie marks, so no

3. Twilight the alicorn wasn't such a good idea?

I'm not worried about the alicorn thing, no

4. They ran out of ideas for episodes?

No, as long as I have the show's past quality

5. MLP was cancelled?

It's gonna end eventually, so no

6. Everyone teased you about being a brony?

Not my fault people are shallow

7. Everypony fulfilled their destinies?

Again, I want this to happen, so no

8. The show sucked itself?

But the show doesn't suck

tbf, I already do think the MLP fandom is kinda crappy, but it's places like here that remind me that there's still great people in the fandom

To me it's possible avoid the fandom while still being a fan. Still I don't see myself leaving the fandom anytime soon
