Actually they are skipping the sixth season, and are going straight to the seventh.

 

1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8

 

THEN they go back and do season six.

 

1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 6

 

Then comes a "Season Zero", basically tying up the loose ends that weren't answered in the pilot. Ending with the season finale of Luna being banished to the moon. It was so epic.

 

The last season will be season 9.

The series finale has all the ponies grown up and going on their separate ways.

 

Celestia had to leave Canterlot to help out another kingdon; and asked Twilight Sparkle to take over with help of Luna... (They became really good friends in season 8.)

 

Applejack's grandmother dies, and Applejack leaves for the funeral; but is requested to manage her third cousins' farm in the small town the funeral was held in.

 

Fluttershy got a job at the Equestrian equivalent of "Sea-World" (I would tell you the name of this amusement park, but I would give away the existence of sea-ponies...drat.)

 

Spike flew off with Rarity towards the end of season 7, and we still don't know where they went. Although they sent a postcard to everypony (via Derpy Hooves of course,) saying they are living among the stars. (Hence the unusual star formations in season 8)

 

And Pinkie Pie... is still in Equestria, in the end her friends really did abandon her. Hair flattened, she continues work at the bakery, making her cupcakes. But she's not completely lonely, the former members of the CMC often stop by for a cupcake or two.

There's going to be a TV movie about two months after the last episode; where all the ponies have to get together to use the elements of harmony one last time to defeat the worst enemy they've ever faced. And one even more epic than Dischord (it may not seem possible now... just wait).

It should be a villian that doesn't have an evil thought in his heart... He just wants to absorb everything in equestria so he can make a world with no faults. Nopony would have to be tied to destiny called "Cutie Marks" (so yes, even after "9 seasons" the cutie mark crusaders still get nothing.) no pony would have to worry about evil such as Nightmare Moon, Discord, *3rd villian* and so on.

 

So the mane 6 use Elements of Harmony's "Rainbow Flash!!!" attack... but... it doesn't work... it has no effects on those with no evil intention.

 

Then he proceeds to absorb 5 of the 6 ponies... but not before he gives a little speech about how saddening their imperfections are: Fluttershy's anger, Dash's choice between loyalty between her dreams and her friends, telling them about how he wants to make a grand beautiful safe world for Sweetie Belle and Applebloom, and of course he doesn't want Pinkie Pie sad, because he needs her to throw the biggest party when its all done... can't really come up with any thing for Rarity and Applejack (perhaps for rarity in his world, she can continue to give and give, but she will never lose anything)

 

reminds me, I need to finish this fanfic...

 

It has a real good lesson in the end.

Twilight Sparkle gets "put to a long sleep/coma" trying to prevent Pony Cell's self-destruct explosion. It's up to Twilight's daughter to unleash her inner magic beastliness to defeat Pony Cell.

cause they've been spacing out episodes throughout season two for whatever reason. Usually that makes me think they want more time to finish the rest.

 

however, it does not seem unlikely that there will in fact be a season 3.

It's more of a leak so it's not necessarilly "confirmed" but it is very likely. It's not uncommon for recording to begin this early on.

Actually know. Voice actors have nothing to do with quality of the show. Look at Strawberry shortcake. Over half of the actors in MLP are in it, and the show sucks.
