Well, this reaction to EQG is sad...

Just follow the link and I guarantee you'll be just as upset:

http://cheezburger.com/7458899200

And I'll admit I'm against the whole Equestria Girls idea myself and I would like to voice my opinions to the staff, but I'm beginning to know something even deeper: criticizing such an idea and wanting to give the writers a piece of their mind is one thing, but growing more and more verbally violent by the minute about this is the point where it drives those people who work on the show to start losing dignity is where the line needs to be drawn.

Again, I'm just as opposed to the whole Equestria Girls thing as some of y'all are, but somehow, I'm starting to sympathize with those professionals who work on this beloved modern cult classic, even if some of the episodes they've done have caused mixed reactions from us bronies and pegasisters. I really would like to reach out and give them all a full word of support on behalf of all those who are striving to put an end to this backlash, if I could only figure out how. If anybody knows how I can do it, please feel free to help.

Anyhow, who's with me on supporting the staff of MLP: FIM and halting the backlash?

UPDATE: I am no longer against the whole Equestria Girls idea and am willing to give it a shot. :)

You know I never tend to wish bad things upon people. But you know what I may make an exception here. This is some of the most disgraceful behavior. Seriously what the hell? I had heard the about the attacks, but I didn't know they were that bad. Despite the fact that the majority isn't that stupid the damage may have already been done. Sibsy's almost certainly going to jump ship now as shes already been offered other positions and was thinking of moving on anyway. You know what I bet its was probably /mlp/ again. Every god forsaken time this happens the most irrational insane nonsense comes from that loathsome place. All of my worst encounters with the dark side of the fandom come from there.  Some one please just destroy it, burn it to the virtual internet ground and revoke the rights of the internet from the vociferous posters.

Hey I got an idea lets not only judge a product that hasn't been released yet, but then insult the producers of said product based on assumptions we have made. I'm sure glad I got that lobotomy today aren't you? Because reacting to situations intelligently was just too hard.

I don't normally react so with emotions so volatile, but if there was every a proper time too this is it. Savor this moment MLP forum users for at this moment I am angry, its one of the few times you will witness it on this forum. As animator myself I find this particularly insulting. To anyone reading this that insulted the cast members this next message is for you. Stop using the internet! The responsibility is clearly too great for you! You don't have the intelligence or control to use it properly.

Well to reinforce what I always say those who are vociferous, misbehaving, horrible excuses for human beings are the minority. Whilst that whole fiasco was going on this happened.

Once again an outpouring of kindness.

Oh and then there is this. I cant tell how many posts are in it now, but yesterday or the day before I saw a figure of over 600. Something like 675. Id be willing to bet that's a lot more than the detractors sent their way.

That was possibly one of the best lines I have ever seen delivered over the internet. Thank you, Anadu Kune, you just made my night.

Anyways, as a pretty chill dude, I have never been able to understand how people are able to get so hot and bothered over such trivial matters. Fandoms in particular. Oh well, such is the internet. But really, it's not like they're trying to get rid of us as a fanbase or anything. I would understand getting a little worked up over something like that. But they are just trying something different, I'm probably not going to see it, but I don't have a problem with it.

wow, see this is the problem with bronies now, its "cool" to be a brony now so all the assholes are bronies now too, i hope the fandom doesn't implode.

Glad I could amuse. :D

I can understand having an initial emotional reaction to something. What I fail to understand is some people's inability to step back and think about what they are doing for two seconds. Initially upon hearing of EQ I was like"oh hell no" but I stepped back and absorbed info and thought about it for a few mins. If only those detractors could do so as well.

One of the reasons I was pissed to all hell two days ago, and wrote this blog entry regarding the entire thing. Although it's morbid and I never wish it to happen, if some people began leaving the show because of this bullshit, it only serves those people right, in my cynical opinion. This has been going on since the start; people can't stop overreacting. Some real life consequences wouldn't be a bad thing, if worse absolutely came to worse.

You know, I would be willing to bet that once this event comes to pass, no one will care about it anymore. After months of rants and tirades, no one will care. I mean, if you're going to start a hate campaign against something, at least do like the folks over at Westborough and keep hating it. But yeah, it'll be swept under the rug of quiet acceptance just like everything else.

Freakin' people, man... I just don't understand 'em...

Because that's what's always happened :c People swore Canterlot Wedding was going to be the end of the show and fandom. People swore that Fighting is Magic getting shut down would result in the fandom breaking apart completely. People are swearing Twilicorn is going to destroy everything despite not having seen what's come of it, at all. And now it's the same with Equestria Girls.

It's a fucking show, and people need to stop fretting change by clinging to the pony fandom as a way of life they don't want to see changed, and deal with it.

Thing is the people who did write insulting comments to the staff are simply to stupid to learn. All they would do is write yet more insulting letters to those who quit. Do you really think someone who takes it upon him/herself to personally insult a person for a product yet to be released is in the least bit reasonable? I would be willing to bet that many who wrote the insults this time are repeats from the alicorn debacle. All that would happen is that the majority of those in the fandom who are not mentally deficient would be punished. We would lose a valued member of the team for something we did not do.Something we actively retaliated against.

Thing is this happens in every fandom, and its worse in other fandoms. Just spend a year in the doctor who community, they hate everything nothing pleases them. They hate every producer. Steven Moffat apparently gets routine death threats. Its infuriating.

This is honestly just despicable behavior. The fact that people are complaining and moaning about the film rather than zipping it and not having anything to do with it is enough, but the fact there's been enough blacklash to make some of the production staff consider leaving? Appalling.

I truly cannot stand or indeed fathom people who take a television show so seriously. By all means, like the show, but don't try to live it. And certainly don't insult or threaten anyone over it. If it really means that much to someone, they have a problem. They need help.

Ahh! I need to stop. Look at me! I'm starting to get all preachy like Hawkeye from M*A*S*H!

Love and tolerate. Why is it not happening?

I'll admit, I don't like the idea of Equestria girls (At all) But still, give it a chance. Freaking out over a simple trailer is really stupid.

As it say's, we have ton's of wonderful episodes so...as silly as the plot may sound, just give it a chance and see how it turn's out.
I am a little disappointed in the fandom right now...

Wow... I've never seen the fandom so divided before as it is now. sad.png

First, the Twilicorn fiasco and now this? I mean, I don't think even Derpygate was as bad as this. Some 'bronies' just don't get the message of the show, I guess. This is upsetting, indeed.

Seriously  the doubts some of you guys had about Canterlot Wedding were probably destroyed when you watched it, so why not learn not to judge something before it even releases? And this news about sending hate mail to the creators? ohmy.png  That's just, low...

Disappointed (biggest understatement ever) to see a fandom preaching love and tolerance to be so idiotic and hypocritical.

This is absolutely pathetic. This is the side of the fandom I dislike greatly.

Leaving the fandom because of a movie that hasn't even released yet? You're fucking kidding, right? So far, all we've seen it a 1 minute trailer, that is not enough to make negative statements of the movie.

You know what I think will happen?

After the movie has released I bet you that all the people that were previously hating on the show will say "Hey, it wasn't that bad."

Seriously bronies, listen. You guys are the biggest drama queens I've ever seen. If there is one change with the show, or anything related to the show, you'll all freak out and start making idiotic assumptions. As I said above, this is the part of the fandom I dislike. The "drama queens".

Not talking fully realistically, anyway. Fully aware of that. Simply saying that there is a cause and effect that people don't understand.

Okay, this honestly makes me really sad and quite diappointed at the same time...I am just going to say that I am sorry I judged it before seeing it (although, I did so quietly). Once this movie is released (if it is, hopefully it is), I will be one of those few people to go check it out...

So the animation looks a little off, big fukken whoop... so they're now humans instead of ponies, who gives a big rats @$$ (tho I still don't agree that Spike is a dog but whatever), thing is, I'll be watching it for the story and hopefully it is a darn good one at that

All this rage and hate is too much, we went from "Bronies" (giving ideas a shot) to ungodly haters (Shooting ideas upon announcement) and for what, you don't like change? Well I hate to say it but, get over it. This hatred has gone on long enough, there is really no need for it.

Wow, that's pretty pathetic. I'm getting increasingly tired of the fandom's shit. The sense of entitlement is both overwhelming and overwhelmingly disgusting. It's especially sad when you consider the premise of the show and the bronydom's own slogan, both of which are essentially the phrase "love and tolerance." Not only do they not understand the most basic lessons of the show they supposedly love, they also preach them in the most hypocritical manner imaginable. Not all bronies, mind you, but enough to elicit more than a simple, "What the hell, fandom?" from me.

Come on, guys. This is getting ridiculous. Wait, what's that sound? That soft, sad, and heart-wrenchingly adorable sound? Fluttershy? Crying? My goodness, fandom, what have you done?!

Wow, that's awful! I've never understood why people think they should attack singer/writers/artists for what they do. Even if these writers are being paid, this is still their art work. It is ok to analyze or even disagree with them, but when it comes down to it you don't have a say in what someone else creates. You can choose not to participate, but it should not be acceptable for people to go after individuals and insult them or attack their work. Especially when you don't know what the hell it is going to be like! The same thing happened with alicorn Twilight. I don't understand why you can't either say, "No that isn't for me personally." or "I'll give it a shot" at the very least. It just seems low life to me to go after the staff.

It was always going to happen, Hasbro has always been out there to make capital and I suppose we all knew there would be a tangential point where the show would do something that we wouldn't like at first. When I saw the trailer I was a bit annoyed, because I thought they could be using this time to pour more effort into the series, but we all need a change at some point. I don't really see much point for fighting though (That could just be because I'm a pacifist wink.png) So sit down, buckle up for a bit of turbulence, I had my reservations about MLP originally (Well, not really tongue.png) But I'm sure that Equestria Girls will be just fine.

Wonderful. Absolutely thrilling. Sarcasm mode off now.

Seriously, why? While I'm not too proud to admit that I judged the trailer, I will say that I did something quite similar with Friendship is Magic. But this is people being stupid and we should all take a step back and remember the words that bronies 'live by': Love and tolerate.

Do those words mean anything anymore?

Nope, they don't mean anything within the brony community. Nor even the world. Today in modern life, not everyone is going to tolerate and/or love anything.

It's just human society, nothing is perfect, there will always be faults.

I'm all for writing insulting, hateful letters lashing out at godawful ideas, but could they at least aim them at the right people? It's not like the MLP creators got together and decided that the movie ought to involve the Mane Six going to Human High. Blaming them is pointless. It should be the executives' mail boxes overflowing with vitriol, not Megan McCarthy and Daniel Ingraham's.

What the hell? They're obviously not true Bronies if they're going to act like this over a show for god's sake! What is wrong with them? What happened to love and tolerate? I mean, they shouldn't even have to love and tolerate our MLP writers after what they did for us. Where would you be if MLP hadn't changed your life? You take it for granted and say your a brony but then throw it back in their faces when they try to do something we've all created as a fandom, but when they actually make it, you threaten with violence and protests?!

Yes, even if you don't like EQD - whether it be the art, the characters (although I don't know how you couldn't because they're the same charries...), the plot... Even if you hate it, that's no excuse to go into a pathetic fan rage. I am looking forward to it, even more so after what those guys said. :( don't leave
