Directly behind the small group, a Makuhita shielded its eyes. A swarm of Zubat directly above seemed startled by the sudden light from the flames, and began flying around, battering the group. A Nosepass could be seen spinning nearby.

((Sorry, boss man. I didn't have time to delete everything else from my phone.))

Trevor ducked a bit from the Zubat flying around, Kirlia cowering a bit. However, she did regain her composure and got back in her stance again. She seemed more fixated on the Makuhita than anything else in the cave... She slowly began to tiptoe her way over to the Makuhita, placing one of her stubs ((?)) on the Makuhita's head.

"Kir?", she asked.

((So, my internet isn't back. But, typed this on my browser. NO QUESTIONS.))

"Alright. Oddish, Poison Powder then Venoshock on Tropius!" Stella called to the excited pokemon. Oddish was used to using all her moves, with the exclusion of Absorb, quickly, and at once. This was due to the fact that, Oddish generally always used the exact same combo. It never seemed to fail, so why change it? While Absol and Swablu did vary in what they did on the battlefield, Oddish had become so used to this combo it was able to use the moves from it almost on top of each other. Whether both, or either, succeeded was a different story, though.  As per a general rule, it did. Especially after sweet scent. But if she failed at that, then there was almost nothing Oddish could do from that point.

This time, though, Oddish released both on cue, while running towards the Tropius. Completely not hesitant about fighting the pokemon so much bigger then her.

"Swablu! Guard the sky and make sure Tropius doesn't get away! And Absol, take care of Spinda!" Stella commanded the other two, confidently. Swablu and Absol on the other hand, weren't quite as confident. Swablu easily snapped out of the daze that was Sweet Scent, but was very hesitant to fight a pokemon that seemed a million times bigger then himself. Absol, on the other hand, did not snap out of the daze. At all. He remained still.

((I have a few questions. And by a few I mean two...

If I use a primary status inflicting move when one is already active (So like using Sing after Poison Powder), would that second move fail, cancel the other one, or have a different effect?

Also, may I teach my Absol Protect instead of Razor Wind? :3))

"Rayquaza returned to its roost, of ancient times, on the Sky Pillar far out to sea. It's cut itself off from the rest of the world to maintain the equilibrium of nature, now, just as it forced Kyogre and Groudon to do. As to how Brendan summoned it... I wouldn't know. You'd have to ask him. Not that anyone has seen him since the war started." The Trick Master twirled to look at the bridge. "It sounds like the fighting is pushing this way. I'd get out of the way if I were you."

"Sounds like your right." Miles said as the fighting grew louder. He looked at his map to find a way around but to no avail. He had no way of going though route 109 unless he wanted to find someone with a boat to take him across. However he had noticed that Mauville, the city at the end of route 110, had a gym. Suddenly Miles thought of a plan. "Before I go, is it still possible to challenge gyms in Hoenn? It's one of the reasons I came here in the first place."

Magmar landed on Marshtomp with a loud bang.  Marshtomp toppled over backwards moments before ceasing its Mud Shot, and Magmar took a blast of mud to the chest before Marshtomp's blast ended as it fell flat on its back.

Perry rolled over onto his back after crashing down on Marshtomp, rubbing it's mud-soaked belly in pain.

Shamus stomped his foot angrily. "Come on Perry, finish it off!"

Perry slowly got up and gathered it's strength, striking toward Marshtomp with Rock Smash.

Sol was only slightly buffeted from the blast, but was able to keep his hold on the ground. Once the smoke was cleared, he jolted right back to Cal's side.

"So I CAN use Sol's speed here to my advantage. 'Guess sometimes being the smaller guy is a plus in situations like this. Just can't let up..." Cal thought, he finally got the opportunity he needed. "Use a flame wheel before he can recover! Put as much force into as you can and blow him away!"

Sol's flame furiously broke out from the spots on his back and head, showing that he revving with a large amount of power. After a moment of concentration, he shot an enormous burst of fire directly at the falling Mightyena.

"Kir?", she asked.

(It's understandable. Hand would work, for lack of a better word to describe the ends of Kirlia's arms.)

The Zubat had seemed to calm down from their initial crazy panic, and about half of them had returned to their roosts on the ceiling. The rest were still circling Trevor, screeching at each other indecisively.

The Makuhita seemed surprised, that while it had been blinded, a pokemon had come up and touched it. It actually fell over.

Tropius fell to its knees at the sudden attack, then struggled back up to its feet. The normally docile creature had a dark glint in its eye know. It didn't look happy at all. With a sweep of it's giant neck, it swung its head at Oddish like a golf club.

Spinda tottered towards Absol, and raised a knobbly little fist to punch it, and swung.

(I'm not sure. I guess it depends on circumstances. Also, Absol's your pokemon. He can know whatever you deem fit at the start.)

The Trick Master nodded. "The Gyms are still running, even though their leaders are divided and the Elite Four disbanded." He caught the way Miles was looking. "I'd suggest going to Oldale first if you want to get to Mauville. Magma's working on their own land path to Oldale through Verdanturf, and it's much safer to go that way. Besides, there's a gym in Oldale Town, too."

Marshtomp took the blow heavily in the shoulder, yet, with it's trainer's urging, pulled itself back to it's feet. It prepared for another Mud Shot, this time at point blank. There would be no missing.

Sol was only slightly buffeted from the blast, but was able to keep his hold on the ground. Once the smoke was cleared, he jolted right back to Cal's side.

Sol's flame furiously broke out from the spots on his back and head, showing that he revving with a large amount of power. After a moment of concentration, he shot an enormous burst of fire directly at the falling Mightyena.

Mightyena could not have avoided the attack. It was physically impossible. It fell to its side, and the thug, swearing vehermently, withdrew Mightyena, and sent out instead... "Go, Wartortle!" The turtle pokemon fell with a heavy thud to the ground. It looked heavy.

Miles said as he left for Oldale Town, waving goodbye to the old man.

Perry took the  Mud Shot full force, knocking him onto his back. Still, he slowly got back up, the mud essentially melting off his body, and prepared to counterattack. Shamus watched eagerly, now fully invested in the fight. "Quick, counterattack with another Body Slam, full power!"

Perry followed it's master's instructions and charged at Marshtomp again, putting it's full force into a Body Slam.

((Alrighty. So, I'll try it anyway then.))

The long movement of the motion of Tropius' head was certainly slow enough for the small, but fairly quick, Oddish to dodge, just by running back a bit to where Absol was. "And, Venoshock again!" Stella commanded to the Oddish, who happily oblidged.

Meanwhile, Absol was fairing much worse. Not only was he hit directly by the punch ((Which I'm guessing is dizzy punch.)), but was also sent skidding back quite a bit. Stella, seeing Absol really not doing well, called out to Oddish again. Though both were unaware if the venoshock had hit yet. "Oddish! Jump on Absol's back! Then use protect, Absol!"

Oddish quickly jumped onto Absol. Absol took a bit to use the protect. But, both of them were almost completely aware of what would happen next. "Swablu! Sing!" Stella called back up to the tiny, idle bird, while covering her ears.

Swablu seemed somewhat happy it didn't need to actually hit the Tropius, and began singing...

"Alright then I suppose I'll do that." Miles said slightly disappointed. While this was faster and easier, what he originally had planed was a bit more fun. Though something told Miles he would have plenty of chances to battle Magma and Aqua. "Thanks for everything Trick Master. Hope we met again." Miles said as he left for Oldale Town, waving goodbye to the old man.

The Trick Master waved goodbye, spinning about to attempt to salvage what else he could from his house.

Route 103 was eerily quiet after the fighting of Route 110. Possibly since it fell under Oldalian jurisdiction, and neither major faction wanted to alienate the city-state, whose allegiance certainly would give a side an edge in the war. Pokemon seemed to have fled from Route 110 to the east side of 103 Bay. A small pack of Electrike and Poochyenawere barking at a tree, which appeared to have something quivering scared inside it. A Gulpin was gulping lazily at the river water, and many Wingull soared overhead. A Taillow could be heard chirping from a second tree.

The water looked too deep to wade across, but was rather calm.

Perry took the  Mud Shot full force, knocking him onto his back. Still, he slowly got back up, the mud essentially melting off his body, and prepared to counterattack. Shamus watched eagerly, now fully invested in the fight. "Quick, counterattack with another Body Slam, full power!"

The Marshtomp fell, and it fell hard. The thug blanched.

((Alrighty. So, I'll try it anyway then.))

(You guessed correctly.)

The Tropius seemed powerful. All the same, the second venoshock had brought it, shaking to its knees. It managed, however, to flick its wings enough for a small, green tornado to form before falling over, asleep. Spinda found itself being swept up into the leaf tornado, fast asleep as well. Absol and Oddish were protected. Swablu, though... Was another question.

Kirlia jumped back a bit from the Makuhita falling over, but slowly came back to it. She was hoping that it had not been blinded too harshly by the Will-o-Wisps...

"Damn it! Why won't you stupid Zubat leave us alone?!", Trevor cried out. Shuppet also was extremely annoyed by the screechings as well.

The Zubat's ears flicked, and displeased at Trevor's language, swarmed him and Shuppet, battering them with their wings. Kirlia was out of the danger zone. (Wing attack)

Makuhita pushed itself back up onto its feet, and peered curiously at Kirlia.

"Yeah! Nice job buddy!" Cal exclaimed as the thug called back his weakened Pokémon. Sol dashed towards Cal and jump into him, following up with an embrace. "I think we both agree that you deserve to rest up a bit after that one" He said with a soft laugh. "Alright then, you're up next!  Out from the thrown pokéball came an Espeon, whose gem glistened when the light from the sun settled upon it. As calm and serene as she looked, Cal knew for a fact that she was ready.

Wartortle had a dark, amused, overly confident look on its face as it stared at Espeon. In fact, it positively had a scary face.

Shuppet cried out in pain over the multiple Wing Attacks, which made Trevor pretty pissed. He also cried out in pain, angry now. "Shuppet! Don't let them hurt you! Use Confuse Ray!" At that point, Shuppet began to form a dark sphere on its head, flinging it around the entire crowd of Zubats in a circular motion.

Kirlia, aware of the incident, was mainly concerned about the Makuhita, who was staring at Kirlia now. "Kirlia?", she softly spoke, trying to calm the Pokemon.

Swablu, not paying much attention to the battle scene while singing, was swept up into the leaf tornado. Of course, the move didn't hurt the flying type much. Therefore, he had just enough strength to throw himself out. However, the bird's wings weren't ready for the sudden shift in wind. And then fell hard into the ground, leaving the tiniest dent, and fainting. Absol, being Absol, immediately stopped his protect and stood over Swablu. Oddish jumping off him.

"Swablu!" Stella called, seeing the bird fall. At the same time, this was her chance to catch both the Tropius and the Spinda, who looked in even worse shape then Swablu. Rummaging through her bag, she threw two pokeballs, one at Spinda and one at Tropius, then ran towards where Swablu and Absol were.

Riolu looked around. "Kay, now let's get to Mauville."

"Mauville?" Octavia asked. "Cool name! I heard there was a gym here, hey, maybe we can take the gym challenge! Oh boy, that would be super duper looper fun! Then we could...uh..I don't know! Throw a huge 'I beat the GYM LEADERS!' party!"

"Octavia, you are so random," Riolu inquired before softly smiling. "And I like you because of that. Kay, let's get going."

Miles looked over the new route which was much more peaceful compared to route 110's fighting. "What going on over there?" Miles said to himself as he witnessed a pack of Poochyena and Eletrike barking at a tree. "Looks like they're after something." Miles said as the tree shook. Miles grabbed Krokorok's Pokeball and released the Pokemon inside. Krokorok, who had been sleeping, stretched and yawned. He haden't been out of the Pokeball since Miles left Unova. "Krok?" Krokorok looked around and adjusted his sunglasses a bit. "Hey buddy we're finally in Hoenn. Anyway I need you to get those Pokemon away from that tree over there." Krokorok nods and walks over to the pack of Poochyena and Eletrike. He then uses Sand Tomb to create a large hold in the ground that sucks some of the Pokemon into it. Seeing his chance Miles rushed over to the tree and started climbing up.

Wartortle had a dark, amused, overly confident look on its face as it stared at Espeon. In fact, it positively had a scary face.

In an attempt to avert the Wartortles' gaze, Priestess's eyes started to glow and fluctuate with colour, she was using a confuse ray. Held fast, she was still in the same position she was when she had been released from her ball. She didn't move an inch and was surely unaffected from the scary face of the foe's turtle pokémon.

"In all honesty, that scary face of yours was quite pitiful. Probably wouldn't have even startled a togepi." Cal said with a chuckle.

The Zubat, which had been flying in an organized swarm before, flew into total chaos. Now they were accidentally collidiing completely with the pair, as well as each other. Several flew into the ground with a thud, and moved no more,

Makuhita seemed to be working itself up a little bit, obviously not sure what to think. The cries of the Zubat seemed to be bothering it.

Shamus grinned triumphantly. "It looks like I win. Now you'd better get out of here. And if I see you trying to pull something like this again, you can rest assured I'll beat you even worse next time." He then turned to Perry and gave him an approving nod.

The thug laughed, and withdrew Marshtomp. "You really don't think that was it, do you? Your Pokemon is weak, and Marshtomp isn't alone." He chucked out another Pokeball, and out of it flew a purple scorpion with wings. "Gligar, your turn!"

Both Pokeballs started to wiggle, slowly. And after a moment, the one with the Spinda rested, still. Tropius emerged from its pokeball a moment later, yawning, and looking irritable. It stood up, and opened its wings to the sun. It's leafy wings started to glow bright white. The docile giant had been angered.

A red dot of light could be seen in the center of the iron statue in front of Fortree Gym Ruins for the briefest second, before it disappeared.

Most of the Poochyena and Electrike were weak, and were KOd by the Sand Tomb attack. Two of each managed to climb out of the sandpit, and charged Krokorok, yipping madly.

At the top of the tree, a pokemon was trembling. It resembled a gecko, with a dark green tail, a red belly and yellow eyes. The Treecko appeared to have been chased into the tree. It looked hungry, like it had been in the tree for quite a while. A second pokemon, that resembled a tan sloth, was patting the Treecko on the back. "Slack," it said, not noticing the trainer climbing into their midst, although Treecko certainly did. Treecko eyed Miles fearfully.

Wartortle didn't seem overly affected by the scary face attack. Indeed, it only seemed a little off balance as it's scary face attack ceased. Maybe it had actually saved it from the brunt of the attack. At its trainer's command, Wartortle shot a powerful bubblebeam attack at Espeon, and leapt towards it. Wartortle certainly seemed much physically stronger than Espeon.

((You know, I was certain that fire was ineffective against ground, but apparently I've been wrong all these years.))

Stella soon grabbed hold of Swablu, returning him to his pokeball. Then Tropius emerged from his pokeball. Woken up. Which did nothing but absolutely terrify Stella and Absol, while Oddish was more frustrated then anything. Both Absol and Oddish looked fine, but repeating her combo with Oddish would either hurt Tropius too badly, or give him the chance to think of a way to counter it. So, it was all up to Absol.

"Alright. Absol..." Stella called to Absol, who looked like he was going to faint out of terror. "The rest is your job. Flash then Double Team!" She commanded. Absol obliged, happy to be made basically invisible. First, he created a bright light, that blinded everything in the area. Then, when the bright light's blindness passed, he appeared in multiples. All of them surrounding Tropius in a perfect circle, anchored on him.

Oddish was a bit concerned about losing the Spinda they had caught. In fact, she was more interested in that then the battle at hand, and more worried about it then Absol and Stella's welfare. Walking up to the ball, she grabbed it with her leaves ((Which can be used as limbs, apparently.)), before something caught her eye. A bit of red appearing on the statue. But, Oddish disregarded it, and began walking back to where pure chaos was taking place.

"Pop those bubbles and throw him off with a Sand AttackHe commanded. Espeon, using her tail, dug up a tremendous amount of sand and flung it in the direction of the Wartortle.

"No, no don't be afraid." Miles said after seeing the fear in Treecko's eyes. "You don't look too good. Come on I'll take you to a Pokemon Center." Miles extended his hand out at if he wanted Treecko to grab it and come along.

@@Descant

Trevor and Shuppet both fell to the ground,  with Shuppet mainly dazed from the Zubats' accidental ramming. Trevor groaned out a little.

Kirlia turned to see her partner and master nearly close to knocked out, and with the Makuhita becoming scared, this was something that she needed to think about... She closed her eyes, and suddenly, a few flashes came from her head. Trevor, Shuppet, Kirlia, and somehow Makuhita were no longer in the cave! It was like they teleported out of the cave...

((So I'm spending a few days in Charleston, and forgot my computer charger. So I'll be using my brother's crappy computer until I go home Sunday evening.))

Shamus shrugged. "If you want me to beat all of your Pokemon, then fine. Perry, you know what to do." The Magmar charged toward its new opponent, flames gathering around its fist. As it neared the Gligar, it lashed out with a mighty fire punch.

((You know, I was certain that fire was ineffective against ground, but apparently I've been wrong all these years.))

With outstanding agility, Gligar seemed to disappear from in front of Magmar, and instantaneously reappeared behind it, lashing out with a mighty slash.

(Things should be going badly for you here starting in a moment, just forewarning you. It's an opportunity here I can't pass up.)

(Cinematic scene starting.)

Tropius seemed to simply ignore the Absols, and it's eyes became locked on Stella. It's wings were glowing, brightly, brightly white now. A Solarbeam launched out from its open mouth, disintegrating the Absol double that lay between it and the Trainer. The Solarbeam was quite brighter than the attack normally should have been. Absol's flash attack must have made it even more powerful than ever could have been just off of sunlight. The powerful attack flew at Stella, and with a bright flash of light and a resounding bang, Stella knew no more.

She woke up moments later, ears still ringing, lights still flashing in her eyes. Sitting up, she noticed that the ground had been gouged out around her, leaving her on a little island in a deep rut. The statue from in front of the gym now stood in front of her, strangely enough. Its arms were thrown wide, as it stared at a very startled Tropius with seven glowing red eyes, arranged in a hexagonal pattern. Oddish and Absol both seemed unhurt, although they were both thrown from the shockwave caused by the Solarbeam's collision with the iron statue.

"It seems all his Pokémon are quite bulky...figures." Cal said to himself, however, size and strength didn't really matter in the last fight, why should it now. All that matters is the strategy you employ, as well the execution of said tactics.

"Pop those bubbles and throw him off with a Sand AttackHe commanded. Espeon, using her tail, dug up a tremendous amount of sand and flung it in the direction of the Wartortle.

(Again, things ought to be going badly here. Gives me opportunity, you see.)

Wartortle, with a command from his trainer, began to spin rapidly, deflecting the sand, as the spinning shell hurtled towards Espeon.

Krokorok noticed the four attacking Pokemon and stood it's ground. Krokorok used Sand Tomb once more, trapping one of the Poochyena in a raging sandstorm, before using Dig to escape underground, ready to pop out and attack at a moment's notice.

The Poochyena climbed out of the sand pit, and fled into the woods, yipping. The Electrike and remaining Poochyena were looking around, looking nervous.

The warm sand of the beach outside was pressed against Trevor's skin, as he lay. There was a Corphish picking at a closed shell of a Clamperl not far away in the sand, and a Barboach could be seen swimming out in the water. The Zubat could be heard shrieking in the cave... Well, no. It was only echoes. They had calmed, evidently. The town of Dewford was bustling nearby.
