Binary Blast 27 August 8, 2014 Share August 8, 2014 My parents say, as they put it, I'm an animation connoisseur (you have no idea how difficult that was to spell). I think it's just there way of telling people that I love comics and animation without it being embarrassing for them. But basically I know a lot about animation, comics and games. Though I'm not a very good artist nor can I animate (I chose the game design route of my expertise instead xD) but I'm learning both other skills. Either way back on track, they know I like mlp and they know why, I simply adore it's animation. I also watch pokemon, spongebob, avatar, adventure time, regular show, the amazing world of gumball, and, like, every anime ever. So they basically just think that mlp is another show that has good animation. They also always come to me asking if different shows have good animation which is kind of weird xD, I always reply, "If you like it, watch it." Flamestreak1990 1,172 August 8, 2014 Share August 8, 2014 *cuddles and nuzzles* No young one, no matter the age, should be treated like that. It figures that people in religion would bash you down like that. As much as I'm sure you respect your father, and I don't mean this as harm, but your father is one of those closed minded assholes who deserve to get shot in the head. Forcing someone to not be a brony is sickening. I mean no disrespect but I do mean what I say. I want you to be happy with who you are, if you need to hide it from those that do not deserve to know who you are, so be it, but never fear being yourself. If others hate you for it, tough shit. They can eat a pile and shut the flipping bird up. hey thats a bit harsh to say that it figures im christian and i think thats wrong and he should stand up to his dad(before i go any further i just want to say im not trying to start something )but just because his dad is christian doesn't mean he automatically needs to bash on stuff like that. saying that people in religion do that is harsh to people like me who is religious and thinks thats wrong as well. again not trying to start something i just wanted to be clear about that. no offense to you or anyone else i just want to make myself clear on i feel about the situation. as for emerald starlight stay strong stand your ground don't let him push you around like that you need to talk to him and say if doesn't like you being a brony than to bad but your not gonna stop me from being my self because thats hes really stopping you from doing.*whew* just to get off my chest again didn't want offended somebody sorry if i did OCS: flamestreak and blue-diamond I had a bible verse here before? Visual Spectrum 1,932 August 8, 2014 Share August 8, 2014 They know. *looks at my room full of pony merch* They definitely know. They even got me a Pinkie Pie bank and a Fluttershy vinyl. They saw my sister buy pony merch for me. They saw the shirt with Rarity's cutie mark when I got it. They were with me when I got Rarity and Pinkie Pie toys from McDonald's. My mom was with me when I watched the Brony documentary. I got my father to watch Return of Harmony. They definitely know, and they accept it. 1 Applejack Fan Club

They don't deserve to speak if they'll be so closed minded by it. *sighs* This is another reason why I hate speaking my mind sometimes, someone just has to be offend by it despite me mentioning that I mean no offense or disrespect. I've been a bit slow on the intake this morning and I'm rather sleepy so I get frustrated easily. Now that I've had my coffee and listened to some Slipknot, I should be okay. Anyway, I understand if it was a bit extreme for you, but that's how I feel. That's how sick of closed minded people I am. Null_account 144 August 8, 2014 Share August 8, 2014 (edited) Eeeyup. I just leave little hints (eg. me buying pony slippers, my rd plushie, and buying mlp blind bags.). Well, my mom knows, but she doesn't say anything about it. I'm not quite sure if my dad knows...... And my sister knows, but she is annoyed by it, and she teases me about it. But I don't really show my... brony-ism at school, tough. I just don't feel comfortable. Edited August 12, 2014 by RandomRainbowz101 "I know the sun must set to rise." Phoenix Flair 332 August 9, 2014 Share August 9, 2014 Dude, my parents would freak out if they knew. And my siblings too. I don't know a single person IRL who knows I'm a brony. They wouldn't get it. They'd probably think it was just me trying to be weird. Like I need/want to try.
ARagY 1,152 August 9, 2014 Share August 9, 2014 Yes, they do. They don't seem really bothered by it, which is surprising, actually. My mom got me a Rainbow Dash doll toy..thing for my Birthday, and I have a few others hanging around my room and computer, I also put an mlp poster on the outside of my door so there's that It's very stressful when you feel as if you can't tell your parents, but if they find out or you do tell them, it can be very liberating afterwards, depending on who your parents are. If you come from a very conservative family, I'd shy away from that simply because of the fact that they may try to wean you off of it gradually by blocking searches with that as one of the keywords or making it so that your internet activity and TV time is monitored or something similar, I've been around long enough to know that it has happened before. So by all means, to anyone wanting to tell, evaluate the situation of your household before you do so. There's really no one right way to approach and overcome the situation. Sometimes, it may be best to pretend it doesn't exist at all. To each their own
chanseychansey77 7 August 9, 2014 Share August 9, 2014 Yes, they know. It's not something I make a terribly big deal of, and neither do they. Mom is fine with it, and dad says that if the show has good writing it makes sense I would like it. My parents and I have always been pretty close, though, so I can see others having difficulties... BionicBrony 385 August 9, 2014 Share August 9, 2014 My parents actually found out when I came out of walmart with three mlp pillows, some dolls, and a few other things that were mlp merch. My dad has told me to grow up and figure out that this is all just a phase, but I've told him it's not. My mom outright refuses to be seen with me if I even say the name MLP or pony. But I'm proud to be a brony so it doesn't matter. 1 Quillina Script: http://mlpforums.com/page/roleplay-characters/_/quillina-script-r6594 Emerald Shine: http://mlpforums.com/page/roleplay-characters/_/emerald-shine-r6640 Sky Chaser:http://mlpforums.com/page/roleplay-characters/_/sky-chaser-r6602 Please PM me if you wanna RP, chat, or just talk! BlitzBLT 47 August 12, 2014 Share August 12, 2014 Well this might be a little late but back in 2012 or maybe early 2013 I had a Rainbow Dash Wallpaper set on my old cell phone, I was just going about until something went on in my mothers mind wanting to see my cell phone, I think its because she didn't have it on her at the time, I was just about to change the wallpaper but my mother demanded for my phone because I looked like I was hiding something. So I gave it to her, putting my phone in a slide that just shows blue effects in hopes of not switching to the Rainbow Dash slide next to it... She switched it.. she laughed so hard and ran off with my phone yelling my son likes MLP (She was yelling at her BF, though I don't take it hard) though she and her BF had laughed about it (for weeks too), and apparently her BF had not heard of a Brony before, and didn't believe there was a brony community. Though that's over, my family knows I watch MLP but I don't know how my mother is gonna react when I tell her I'm gonna go to the BronyCon 2015 (In hopes) and that I will buy MLP merchandise next week on my vacation visiting the United States and a few other states (Why not?). So yes, they do know, do they like it? idk, but I LOVE the fandom/show here, I would wear MLP shirts but, I don't think my other friends would like that nor would people at my school. But I would get a wallet or a wristband, and a poster. In short terms Yes my family knows, I like to type and share, I'm proud to be a Brony P.S. The bold words make the longish story short and simple.

Heliodor 156 August 12, 2014 Share August 12, 2014 My parents know I'm an MLP fan but they think it's childish and are probably still waiting for me to grow out of it. User0815 264 August 12, 2014 Share August 12, 2014 Do my parents know if I'm a brony? No sir, they haven't the slightest clue and I'm not in any rush to tell them. Do you have any idea how incredibly awkward that conversation would be where I have to explain it to them? I could really do with telling them so that I can order some merchandise off of the internet, seeing as there isn't any where I live. I'm sure all of us that said yes know how a ward of a conversation that is, when I told my parents they just kinda looked at me and started laughing then they realised I was serious and things were a ward for about a week after that.
