  1. It doesn't suck, but it definitely doesn't do a great job of representing the show, which is kind of the job of a theme song.
  2. Hmm, nope. I have chosen to keep it strictly within the family and like contemporaries... Though I will defend it if necessary.
  3. I'm thinking a microphone, because I have a decently good bass voice. I'm pretty good at singing and speaking with it.
  4. Yes, they know. It's not something I make a terribly big deal of, and neither do they. Mom is fine with it, and dad says that if the show has good writing it makes sense I would like it. My parents and I have always been pretty close, though, so I can see others having difficulties...
  5. Never was much into "everypony", even when talking about ponies I just use "everyone". Ponies in the comics do it, after all. ...And yeah, to avoid general awkwardness, I would just avoid ponytalk around the public at large.
  6. Before we even address what it would be about, we must answer the one-word question: Why? People like the show as it is, and the Flash animation works wonderfully with the show. Changing it would alienate many fans. And what would be added from live action? People? Seems a bit odd, given a human universe already exists in the poniverse, how do you explain that? Live action has already been shown by Cheese Sandwich and Pinkie Pie in Pinkie Pride, so it would take an undue amount of explanation to explain why everything is suddenly CGI. A CGI-Live Action blend works best in bombastic superhero stories, as the Marvel movies can testify. It allows for the realism and fantasy of comics to come to life. While that combination works great for them, I don't think realism (of the art style, I mean) is something that the My Little Pony creators want in a movie.
  7. Myself, I like it primarily for the subtle, clever humor. The sort of gags you have to look at the background to find, or listen closely, or think about implications of what they say. The awesome fanbase, good songs, cute ponies and smooooooth animation are just sweet bonuses sweeter than most shows' primary draw.
  8. BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY. They got the makings. Rarity can play a mean keytar, and Twilight or Pinkie Pie would handle the crazed operatics well... Though it's true Fluttershy would probably be out of a job in that case.
  9. I was a member on Serebii.net Forums, a Pokemon forum, when the whole thing started. Seemed like everyone and their brother had either rainboom or pony avatars/signatures. I had no clue what it was about back then, but now I have a better idea.
  10. Derpy is a symbol of the mutual love between the artists who made the show, and the people who watch it. They kept those derped out eyes not because they wanted a mistake in their animation, but because they saw that people thought it was funny and kept it. She is the mediator between creator and fan... A messeger, or mailmare, of a sort. Also muffins.
  11. Pokemon Black/White or the Super Mario Galaxy series have an excellent range of music for all occasions.
  12. Mention how the show has clones, time travel, a god of Chaos, nuclear explosions, slavery (those poor sheep!) and lasers. If that doesn't persuade him to give it another try, be respectful of his decision. Otherwise you'll look unreasonable and turn him off from yourself and all bronies.
  13. I again recommend Gravity Falls, especially since the 2nd Season is coming August 1st! And, if you love Flash animation, you can't go wrong with Homestar Runner. It's free, and infinitely accessible through the internet on its own website or youtube. Check it out: www.homestarrunner.com/firsttime
  14. Well, I admit the whole "Friendship is Magic" theme got through to me. Usually I keep to myself, but I've been trying to open up more a lot lately... When you really get down it, people who live for others are remembered and loved. It hasn't made any dramatic changes to me, but it certainly wore down some of the ol' rough bits.
  15. My favorite is probably Big Mac's arc- I'll admit that I love it when you get to see characters just living their lives about town. Lends a lot of humanity (equinity?) to them, and there was a lot of great art and humor in the comic besides. Andy Price and Katie Cook are my favorite comic creating duo, pretty much anything by them is something I'll love.
  16. I didn't get all the way through it- about halfway. From what I saw, I would probably give it a 6.5. I want more pony movies, but the whole going to the human universe and suddenly having to become the prom queen (or what it was called) seemed very forced and not like the actual show. Y'know? They say they made it strictly to compete with the likes of other human dolls brands, and it feels exactly like they forced the show to fit that mold. The reason it doesn't get a 3 or 4 is because it's still pretty fun, what with Twilight losing it when becoming human, or Pinkie Pie doing Pinkie Pie things. I am looking forward a bit more to the sequel, because I thought the shorts were well done and more after the heart of the show. Of course, I didn't see the whole thing. Other people probably have a more grounded opinion.
  17. Does pacing in a circle count? I tend to do that a lot of times when I need ideas for a story or some such... I get kinda restless, I suppose.
  18. I can suggest a few fantastic shows to keep ya occupied. There's Gravity Falls (Disney Channel), there's Homestar Runner (www.homestarrunner.com), there are the first couple seasons of Spongebob, Animaniacs (I think it airs on The Hub sometimes). All of which I recommend at least a look-see. Don't lose your spirits. Even after the show is long gone, the evidence suggests that fans will be creating pony stuff for quite some time. And, as was previously mentioned, Generation 5 of My Little Pony could be very promising indeed.
  19. I wonder if they won't use the "escaped from Tartarus" shtick again. We've had villains sealed in stone (Discord), restored to good (Nightmare), blown up to who knows where (Chrysalis), and completely destroyed (Sombra). I mean, sealed away in the Greek equivalent of Hell is going to be difficult to top. Another villain might have escaped from there, possibly. OR, they could just go straight to the final frontier for another villain, space. Alien eldritch horrors, anyone?
  20. Hello, Corded Gaming! I'm here to help you with your stuff. First off, I notice you chose to write your story as a "script fic". This is a choice that affects how you need to convey information heavily, so make sure you follow a couple rules: make sure your dialogue has a lot of thought put into it, and that it is entertaining, because it comprises the grand majority of your writing. This means things like punctuation, and words with connotation are even more important. In a script fic, you can't simply write a sentence explaining exactly how the character is saying it, and thus how the reader is to interpret it. You'll want to use connotation to help get across what you are trying to write, without stuffing it down the reader's throats. As an example, thin and emaciated have the same definition, but thin is understood to be a positive thing, and emaciated is usually used to describe someone starving. Punctuation: It's very important. Note this important comparison: "Let's eat, Jane!" vs. "Let's eat Jane!" Very different. Pauses and small gaps in speech help communication of meaning, and many of your sentences run a bit flat. Concerning your story content: It seems like the main character has access to all the magic and abilities he could ever need through the Chrono Trigger. This is concerning, because what conflict could challenge him? A story needs conflict, or there's no excitement to it. I would definitely tone down his powers. Don't worry about doing it, being challenged makes a character more interesting. Unless of course, you already had a plan for doing that. In conclusion, I present to you Pixar's 22 rules of storytelling. It helps, trusts me. So, yes. Writing is hard. Editing is hard. But, keep at it. Everything worth doing is hard, and if you put in the time and effort, it can certainly become something incredible. Keep at it! ...I hope that helps. Lemme know if you need any help beyond what I have said.
  21. Art requests? Not yet! In time- a LOT of time, I really need to practice drawing before that will halfway feasible- maybe. But you guys are so nice. Thanks for being so supportive! I will definitely check out Octavia's Hall, and I hope to make something you guys will enjoy! Writing stuff, mostly original stuff, is in my prospects as of right right now. But summer vacation is on, so that other stuff will be PRACTICED until it is NOT TERRIBLE enough to warrant displaying to you nice guys. Seriously, you guys are the greatest. I don't know any other fandom so good-natured.
  22. My Favourite Mane 6 Pony: Pinkie Pie How did you find MLP Forums?: Google. How you became a fan of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic: After watching the Discord episodes, there was no alternative. Good day, everyone! It's my first time on any sort of pony community, so we'll see how that goes. I enjoy playing the piano, thinking too hard about ponies, Pokemon, Mario Kart, Homestar Runner, and a whole lot of other stuff. In this point in my life (16), I'm trying to develop my talents. I see all the impressive stuff people draw, write, and compose, just because they enjoy it. I hope to learn how to do what they can do. And what better place to start than here? Bronies are pretty incredible in terms of how productive they are, so hopefully some of it rubs off! ...So, yeah. I admire what you guys do. I hope to show you what I can do, and make it something you'll enjoy!
