I did a thing on the Alicorn Twilight thing back in February. Four months later, here's my "again, this controversy is pointless" video on EG.

 

 

I saw the new (better) trailer while editing this video and heard about the leaked spoiler images after uploading it. If those leaks are legit, my outlook on this has changed completely, and all that happened in about an hour after I uploaded this. XD

 

But yeah, something tells me a few months from now all of the folks who posted all that negative stuff are gonna look back on this the same way Rarity handled her "that boulder is actually a gem" phase.

I'm from the apprehensive end of the spectrum and I'd be perfectly happy to be proven wrong. I had very deep misgivings about the Canterlot Wedding episodes and was delighted to learn I'd be dining on crow. What I want to happen and what I think will happen are two entirely different things and I'm not going to feel any shame in changing my mind - or acknowledging I had a different view in the first place - if this movie is as good as it's supporters think it will be.

I was neutral when it was announced and am still neutral even after the trailer, yes I have my doubt for several reasons some of them you mentioned in your video but have remained neutral precisely because even if it does bomb than we can at least laugh it off and thank Luna it won't affect the show. So I am with you that people shouldn't panic about it but at the same time I don't like the dismissive attitude some people have had toward anyone with even the slightest critique or concern about either Equestria Girls, twilicorn or any other issue which is why I am very pleased you didn't do that in your video as we have had quite enough of that as well.

Hate? Who says it is hate? It seems more like fear, fear of the unknown, the unsightly, the unsavory and unmanageable. These fearful little bronies who so viciously protest EG are afraid it'll ruin ponies, are afraid it'll make them seem less validated for liking ponies when it gets overgirlified, 

They also fear that their ponies get bunched up with the possibly inane high school drama, they fear that the muffinman comes and carries them to a giant oven in the cellar, Fear that those characters involved in this show will now end up walking hoof in hoof with a boyfriend being gossiping girlygirls that media so gladly propagates like cheap ricecakes at a vegane party.

And so much more fear involved that it is almost like a new season antagonist. the element of fear has been let loose at the fandom.

Such a scared bunch. Hate it only seems because fear is a sign of weakness and often gets masked into hate, but those two are separated by the limp-wristed ineffective whining in contrast to suicide bombers feeling the real hate.

I suppose I wasn't clear on that, was I? To clarify, if the rumors I stumbled upon are legit, my outlook on this changes from "neutral, leaning to skeptical" to "absolutely amped beyond belief". But that's a big if. I haven't looked into the rumors to see if they're legit, because frankly, I'd rather not know for sure. So I'm definitely making the trip to see this, but I'll still hold my expectations in check. Just a bit.
