I am so super excited for gen 6, I strongly believe this will be the best gen ever! It is exactly the step forward we needed since gen 3 came out! The new pokemon are looking really cool, I like that pokemon from all 6 gens will be involved, I love the cel-shaded art style in battles, the new fairy type will be huge in changing the mechanics of the game, just so many great things coming. I hope the games will also have a slight alteration in the story for a more fresh experience too

so far i love everything about this game, the new pokemon, the new fairy type, the horde battles, the sky battles, Pokemon Amie, the legendaries, the starters, the male and female protagonists, i will admit i am a BIT iffy about the rivals but thats it.

 

what i'm looking forward to learning are the starter evolutions, the pokemon professor, and the villainous team of the region

 

i mean we've had thieves (Team Rocket), nature extremists (team Magma and Aqua), space people (Team Galactic), knights (Team Plasma), knights turned pirates (Team Plasma 2) what's next? o.o

They didn't retype luvdisc. Where'd you get that idea? The only Pokemon revieled to have a retyping are gardevoir, marill, and jigglypuff.

Weak to Poison and Steel huh? If I recall, those are the two types that are super effective against the least amount of types, so it was really about time they got a buff.

The other typings actually sound pretty neat, though I'll have to see the evolutions first before I decide on which starter I'll go with. Though, if these typings are true, it means that each starter is both weak and strong against it's opposite type wise.

 

 

 

Was this mentioned by the fanbase or the company? It would be nice to have the first Fire/Psychic starter, Water/Fighting starter, and the first Grass/Dark starter. I hope this is valid.

I haven't played pokemon in awhile. The last pokemon game that I played was pokemon black/white. Maybe this game along with a Nintendo 3DS can be next on my Christmas wish list

I can barely afford the normal 3 DS right now as I am just trading in a crapload of consoles and games, so much as I'd love to, I can't get a xl. Thanks for the suggestion, though!

What consoles? Depending on the console, you can get quite a lot. And to be honest, 3DS XLs aren't so expensive as they say. If your turning in a few DS's, old pokemon games, etc, you'll have plenty. Hell, I traded 2 different games (Zelda 3DS+Mystery Dungeon 3DS) and came out with about 30 or so dollars. It all just depends on the system and popularity. I think they are doing deals about stuff like that too.

From this picture that was posted before. Also, all of the pokemon in this generation look a lot less herp derp than in generation v, which was why I didn't really like that generation. (I mean really, an ice cream cone?)

Team Rocket:I thought they wanted to use Pokemon to make money, like thieves, but thieves wouldn't go to the point they did. They killed a Marowak, cut off slow poke tails, etc. They were worse then thieves, they were also doing research in a cruel way. They were more like Extreme Pokemon Researchers then petty thieves, but still more then simple thieves. Still stealing, but more like researchers and wanted domination.

Team Aqua and Magma were more like two opposites. One wanted more water and to take Kouger and the other wanted landmass and to take Groudon. They weren't nature extremists. ^^"

Team Galactic: They wanted the universe and all of the Pokemon world~ You summed it up though.

Team Plasma: There is only one Team Plasma. They are the Pokemon version of freaking PETA. Do I need to say more? The only difference was in B and W 2 where they wanted the whole region. That's it. PETA in a nut shell. Hell, PETA supported Plasma didn't they?

So, guys, what are you all thinking of the new Steel and Ghost type Pokemon, Honedge? It looks pretty cool, I must say. An animation where it unsheathes itself with that cloth hand would be awesome! I think it'll be an interesting Pokemon and it may even have some backstory to go with it!

 I love Honedge. Say what you will about inanimate object Pokemon, Ghost have consecutively shown to be able to pull off Pokemon like this with Banette and Chandelure. The scarf especially gives me an almost Wind Waker-esque feel to it.

 

A common complaint I've heard against it is that it's just the sword and not a possessed suit of armor. To that I say "Not yet it isn't..."

I am so excited for this generation myself.  Being into pokemon since it first came to the US, this is the first generation I've been truly excited for every since Gen II.  GenIII was alright, but I think I was at that "growing up" age.  Gen IV was pretty forgettable for me (in Poand Gen VI thought was pretty darn lame (cogs, ice cream, really?).   I didn't use the bells and whistles in Black/White and B/W 2 (such as all the internet related stuff since I live in a very rural area ), and the 3D part of the 3DS just gives me headaches every time I fiddle with one at Gamestop or Walmart.  Haven't bought one yet, but eventually will this fall when X/Y comes out. 

I love deer and seeing a Legendary Deer alone makes me call this gen. a winner.  Adding a new type (about time some new  Pokemon came around to whoop some Dragon and Steel types butts {I hated the Olivine City Gym as a kid}) I am not too okay with the type being called "fairy"...what about a "light"  type, we already have a "dark" type! Although, "fairy" type seems the polar opposite of 'Physic" type in my mind, so that must count for something?

though i will admit, i think i was a little light on Team Rocket...they are thieves, thugs, murderers, and just plain big jerks

 

also, i think that Team Aqua and Magma are nature extremists, i mean Aqua wanted to expand the sea by having Kyogre create heavy rain/flash floods and Magma wanted to expand the land by having groudon create a heatwave/drought? not sure...but yeah, a bit extreme don't you think?

and i was really just going for the designs of Team Plasma, because in Black and White the grunts look like knights and in Black 2 White 2 they look alot like pirates they even had a ship that could turn into a airship but you are right they are like PETA...(the idiots) but they look like knights and pirates.

I'm kind of disappointed in regards to Team Flare. Going back to a bunch of criminals and thugs is a little bit saddening when in previous generations we had threats of world domination or just destruction. Granted, they might have some kind of world threatening plotline later in the game, we'll see. However, I am glad to see that the Pokemon don't look as ridiculous as they did in BW.

So Fairy types are going to be good against dark? Well if they are its a small blow to me and my love for dark types, but i still love em.

 

Jirachi's losing its steel typing, even if its already an uber and whatever still kinda a nerf.

 

Altaria is gonna get a pretty decent buff i'm thinking being fairy part, I mean if its immune to dragon thats pretty good Altaria had alot of weaknesses anyways.

 

Lovedisc is well... We'll see, maybe it'll get buffed or something, or maybe fairy type can help it, its kinda weak though honestly.

 

Also since i'm a big eeveelution fan, I'm totally getting Slyveon. I actually think its pretty cool, and expecially so since its gonna be a Fairy type.

 

I'm sorta hoping for another eeveelution to this gen, but I kinda doubt it. If another one comes out I may decide to get it, dunno i'll have to see.

 

Anyways, all the stuff revealed so far has me quite pumped overall, i'm hoping the story is good to, and right now thats probably the only real concern I have. I guess besides fairy type being OP or whatever. I'm cool with Fairy type for now though.

 

I need to start following this thread for news on pokemon , i'm not use to looking for it myself frankly.

None of this is confirmed! Neither is that chart that show all the pokemon who are "going to be" part fairy. I'm not saying that none of it will be true, I'm just saying that in no way is it confirmed.

Nope none of that yet. People find rumors and immediately believe them. Although I would be ecstatic if those were the real starter types. The only typings confirmed recently were Xerneas and Yveltal.
