My Very First Pony Drawings(plus OC)!

Okay so I got really bored today and decided to brush up on my long forgotten drawing/doodling hobby. I decided to draw some ponies and well, I guess the end results didn't turn out so bad for a novice like me. In fact, although I really slaughtered and angrily threw away several failed attempts of my pony drawings, I soon found that the more you do it, the more you practice, the better and slightly more easier it becomes.
 
So yeah I picked some of my best drawings here. It turned out to be pretty good for me. Nonetheless, I had fun in the process.
 
Here's some of my attempted drawings of colorless Rainbow Dash(sucks that I don't have enough color  for her at the moment lol.

 

 

 

 

And finally here's two drawings requested by one of my forum friends, for her OC, Emerald Wave. Thankfully I had just the right colors!

This is really good for a novice! You made RD look great. She would be proud!   You also did a really good job on your friend's OC. The important thing is to capture the right facial expression, and you did great.

Its a pretty good job i'd say, and yeah practice is really the only way to improve. Well not the only way, but the most effective .

 

Anyways overall things are pretty good, it has a couple messy lines in some places, but those are minor fixes.

 

I think overall the most consistent thing is the hooves seem to be a little messy in the shape and proportion.

 

It gets better as you go, but I think they could generally be a bit bigger, and make sure the size decreases as it goes towards the body. Also make sure the shape of the bottom of the hooves is mostly flat, but with a bit of a curve towards the edges as it goes back up. Otherwise the bottoms are basically flat.

 

Overall a good job! Keep up the practice! It shows you improve already through your art as time goes on!

Id say thats actually pretty good considering that its your first pony drawing. Your OC's hair looks good and rainbow looks awesome. All I'd have to add to this is keep on practicing and you will definitely get better. Learning bone structure is a really good way to improve, DeviantArt has a lot of tutorials on drawing ponies.
