Dusk flushed, practically turning purple as the blush mixed with his coat colour. "I'm sorry, i'm n-not much good at socialising, I uh, I forget simple things like that." He turned away, awkwardly fiddling with his hooves. "D-do you hear that?" he suddenly asked, a hint of nerves creeping into his voice. "Yeah...it's a nice place isn't it, to say where it's at. You'd think being near the Everfree forest and all..." 

"Dusk...you're going to need to calm yourself, lest we forget what normally happens. Keep a lid on it."

Minty smiled as well. "Yes, it's.. lovely." Minty said, biting her lip. "Hey.. this IS a party and all.. do they have food?" Minty asked awkwardly. Great.. you got him to think you were a fat mare who loafs around all day, eating potato chips and such! Smooth move, stupid!

"Curious, I was wondering the same thing...and I still need to meet the hostess before it's too late to be considered polite" He looked over at Minty and noticed her biting her lip. He couldn't help but right there and then stop whatever he was saying just to think about how cute she looked. Still though, for the amount of times Dusk actually meets new ponies, almost anyone could look cute to him in the right circumstances, so he didn't let his opinion sway.

"I just..." Violet tapped her hooves together nervously as she looked from her tail then back in the direction of the mane part of the garden. She sighed. "Somepony doesn't like snakes...and I don't want to ruin the party for anypony...I can come visit again tomorrow." She said, turning around to look at Eve as she absentmindedly started playing with the end of her tail with her hooves, something she did when she got nervous. "I've never been around this many ponies I don't know before." She muttered...which wasn't entirely true.

Eve sighed. "How do you think I feel, Vi?" she asked. "My garden's never had this many new ponies in it at once. It's so excited... Scared, too. And I'm... I'm just worried." She pounded the soil a bit nervously, with a wavery laugh. "But I'm sure it'll all be fine. I mean, we're all friends here, right?"

 

They reached a clearing at the end of the path the hedge had cleared for them. There were a variety of venemous-looking plants and toadstools, a giant Venus Flytrap and a few pitcher plants of a similar size, and much more that was out of sight. "Had to store them somewhere ponies are gonna have a hard time finding," Eve explained. "Anywhere's good." She sat the Yateveo down next to one of the pitcher plants.

[Marathon 562]

The grey pegasus mare trotted into the garden, her curly mane tied back into a pony tail. Her step had a slight spring to it, happy to get to attend the party. She admired the abundance of flora and vegitation as she made her way further and further into the garden, oblivious to any near by party ponies. Hop soon passed by a pond and stopped to peer into it, finding it filled with fish swimming around in it. She decided to lay down next to it, temporarily captivated by the fish.

Minty nodded. "I haven't met her properly yet.. want to try and find her..?" Minty asked warmly. "I mean, only if you want to. We can stay here, if you want.." Minty said, looking away. "I hope I don't sound too pushy." She smiled, her eyes glazing over at the sky. "I wish this night would last. I don't think I'd ever be able to see you again after this."

Violet wasn't that great at magic but she could perform simple things like levitation.

"Okay," Eve said, patting her friend on the back gently as she trotted back out of the maze back to the others.

 

"This took a bit too long," Eve said as they emerged out of the maze, which promptly rearranged itself behind them. "I'm gonna have to go meet some more guests." Moments later, Eve was by the entrance again.

Violet followed Eve through the maze but stopped to look at a pretty pink flower...when she turned around, the maze walls had closed...and she was alone.
She gulped and looked around. "H-Hello? Eve?" She called...but there was no answer...come to think of it...all the noise from the nearby party was gone as well.
Her lip quivered as she nervously looked around...unsure what to do.
She gulped and slithered down the first path she saw...which was a dead end...

After some time, she had gotten slightly panicked and was racing through the maze as fast as she could go until...she turned a corner to see the lake up ahead.
She let out a sigh of relief as she exited the maze, the walls closing behind her.
Panting...allot, she  found a stone bench a few feet from the water and let the end of her tail dip into the lake as she sat down, looking over at the maze with a rather scared look...not noticing the nearby stallion. (Frost)

Frost's ears perked up as he looked up from the lake and looked around. Had he been staring into the water this entire time? His eyes locked onto the strange, ponylike shape to his right as it ran from what he assumed was the garden maze, and sat on the bench nearby the water. He raised an eyebrow, taking in this peculiar sight. The pegasus wasn't entirely in the dark about pony half-breeds, hell, he was friends with a few of them, but this was the first time he had ever seen a snakepony.

 

Trying not to draw attention to himself, Frost looked the creature up and down, trying to make sense of this pony. Half pony, half snake. It was an interesting combination, to be sure. He wasn't exactly afraid of snakes, rather, he had always liked the way that they looked, and wanted one as a pet some day. But no, this...mare, was it? She seemed a bit...scared at the moment, and he was curious.

 

"Uh...hey. You alright?" The pegasus lowered his shades a bit with a hoof, peering over with his ice blue eyes.

Remmy had wandered away from the two, a habit that she did a lot. Luckily she had crushed the urge until she was out of the maze. She had been wondering around for a while and after not really knowing what to do or who to talk to, she plopped herself onto a bench. ((I'm totally not doing this because I have no idea where anyone is.))

Slide walked into the party, and saw that most of the ponies had already arrived. Fashionably late. Just my style.

 

For once, the trombonist was without his trombone. Even though he was strong enough to carry it everywhere, something told him he shouldn't bring it. Why should I? Nopony even cares about trombones anymore, except for me.

 

Slide walked into the party, and tried to find the hostess. When he failed to, he just wandered off, his short attention span kicking in.

 

He saw a mare sitting alone on a bench. A mare? And a pretty one, I must say, one that Slide Grease most have a shot at. Especially to get over the last party I went to. That stupid, no good, mare stealing pegasus. The pretty mare(s) will be mine at this party! Just you see!

 

Slide Grease sat down on the bench, and intentionally turned away from the mare. Just play it cool, Slide.

 

Slide slid his flank a bit further and bumped into the mare. "Oh!" He exclaimed. "I'm sorry. I didn't see you there. I'm so sorry."

Violet jumped and nearly fell off the bench. She looked up at the colt and relaxed knowing he wanted to help. "Oh...uh...yeah, I'm fine...I just...got kinda lost." She mumbled, glancing over at the entrance too the maze as she absentmindedly tried to hide most of her tail below the stone bench so the colt couldn't see it. "Sorry...I'm not interrupting anything am I?" She asked, blushing slightly as she looked the colt over...there was one word to describe his look...cool...very cool.

Remmy had noticed the stallion long before he had come over. He knew that he intentionally bumped into her, but she decided to play along. After all he did look quite ravishing. "Oh! Oh hello! It's fine it's fine. Honest mistake really. You can call me Remmy, but those I don't like should call me Aroma. I truly hope you don't end up having to call me that." She said it with a short giggle at the end to show she was pulling his leg.

The colt chuckled, pushing the shades back up his snout. "Nah, you're not interrupting me. I was kind of waiting to meet this Eve mare, to be honest. She's a friend of my sister's." So, she was the jumpy type. That's understandable, Frost thought to himself. Snakes were definitely shy creatures, and this was no different. "Just making sure you're alright. You ran from that hedge like something was chasing you or something. Thought I was gonna have to save you or something." Frost grinned, standing up and stretching a bit before trotting over and sitting on the edge of the bench.

 

"I'm Arctic Frost, by the way. Sorry if I startled you."

Draco took off after practicing and he flew over head humming a slight tune. He noticed two ponies on a bench and smiled "Hello there miss. Didn't I see you at the entrance miss? Hmm Remmy right?" Draco asked with a smiled as he landed in front of the two. He was definitely sharply dressed. A black Armani suit and fedora with a dark blue tie. He tipped his fedora to her in greeting.

She smiled to herself. What a strapping fellow. She then laughed at herself realizing that she had been talking and even thinking more sophisticated than normal. "Sorry I just realized how ridiculous I sound.

The mare giggled. "No worries Draco! It's understandable. I like to take pride in knowing a poisonous leaf from an oak leaf."  She laughed and realized that it wasn't very funny. "Hehe, sorry. Botanist jokes am I right?" She giggled and turned to the pony that had greeted her originally. "Oh I'm sorry I didn't quite catch your name...?"

Vesper wandered into the garden a little late to the party. He immediately searched for his friend, Evergreen. He walked through the garden, holding his wings tight against his back, doing his best not to show them. He ended up near a lake, spotting two ponies, Violet and Frost. He approached them. "Hi..." he muttered before spotting Violet's tail. "S-snake!" he yelled, jumping back and hissing, his bat wings expanding up intimidatingly.
