gaming Best Pokemon Team? Best Pokemon?

Ever since I started rewatching the series, previous pokemon I hated became some of my favorites. (For example: Originally until I traded my sister for a Zorua since I wasn't very far to get one, and I still don't own a Celebi, and gave her my Genesect, an event only pokemon, I thought Zorua was sorta...over rated? I thought there was too much hype over one pokemon. I mean, really, its super rare and shapeshifts? It just struck me as one of those "overrated" pokemon. Then I had a battle on the Battle Subway with it and I fell so hard for it. I was up against someone who primarily had either dark or ground moves, when my Zorua changed into Braviary it had no effect and that saved me. That and in the pokemon show, Zorua was a girl, just like mine is, and she hates still transforming into a guy.

Anyway, when I was battling my sister, I realized how weak my team was, and I always manage weak teams. No matter what, they always end up weak. It wasn't just the fact that she creamed me by cheating (Action Replay, she would NEVER have gotten 2 Zoruas without one. She didn't even get the one they had in the game for you) but the fact she creamed me so fast.

She insisted on battling me. I only won once and that was because she didn't use overpowered pokemon. But still, I realized my teams really sucked since I should be much higher a level then the ones I'm at at the moment. I mean, I've just lost to the Nimbasa Gym leader...because my pokemon are all just at level 20 or very close to 30. I mean, when I'm in the subway, I beat the heck out of them with Dewott, Braviary, and Zorua. It wasn't hard at all. But battling with the Electric Gym was harder then expected. I didn't fail at beating her crew, but I did fail at beating her. I wanted to know what your favorite pokemon team was so maybe I could learn from it. Currently, I'm always going to keep Clepta (a Female Liepard) and Zorua on my team. They are the best, even if Clepta is weaker then a lot of others.

(Also: I lost by 20 or a little more points. Level 21-27 pokemon vs Level 50? Is that fair? I barely survived winning when I was up against 34-40 level pokemon)

Wait you verused your sister with level 21-27's and she had like level 50's? There is no physically possible way to win if thats the case :P.

Anyways I'm not sure what my favorite pokemon team would be, i assume your just talking about what would be your favorite set of pokemon you used in a pokemon game correct? Not like a specific team or like a made up team or something?

I'm still not sure my favorite though honestly. I like alot of pokemon.

I'm not sure my best either frankly, I haven't really compared them alot.

As for my favorite pokemon its Umbreon, its not the best pokemon or anything, but I like it both for its cool looks and being a pretty darn durable and reliable wall, both physical and special.

Actually, I never wanted to battle my sister, she wanted to battle me, and when I stated my pokemon were "weaker then hers" she kept on. She cheated for those pokemon anyways. (She had managed to get Hoenn pokemon that weren't native to Unova or Black. (Skarmory, Tyranitar) She even had pokemon that weren't able to be caught till later! That and she raised my Genesect up to 60....in a matter of 5 minutes.

I always seemed to love the eevee evolutions. They make me want to take them all as a team.

I see, well I don't know what purpose she expected out of battling you anyways, obviously the level gap was to large for anyone to win frankly.

And yeah the eeveelutions are all pretty cool, I use them alot, Umbreons still my favorite, but I like them all alot.

Only problem with making them a team is that there is to many to make a team out of :P.

By "best," do you mean strongest? I'd say Kyurem when you get level 100. I got him in Pokemon Black in Global Trade at level fifty, and trained him a LOT. I'm not too sure about best team, though. I've never had the perfect team.

She wanted to gloat how many times she beat me. Turns out, she was terrible when she was matched with her own level (Beaten down twice by a man in Japan with level 50 pokemon)  Still, she thinks she can beat me for that reason. Hell, battled her 8 times, lost all 8 and I had to beg for Zorua that wasn't even strong from the start, it was level 1. You can tell she's a cheat since even the games couldn't catch up to her (and she filled her pokedex somehow). I never seen the games have that much of a gap. *my level pokemon vs 50s and 80s* That's how I know for sure that she's been using it.

No, you can always determine what to do base on type. Catch lots of Eevees (or trade for lots) and evolve each one. I personally would own:

1.Umbreon for Psychic/Fighting (I think, right?) Its also strong against ghost, which is a great thing.  Being immune to psychic also helps.

2.Sylveon since its basically very strong against dragon since they tend to be the strong ones.

I had to decide between Leafeon and Flareon. Flareon is stronger against more moves sets then Leafon. In fact, for the same thing I could use Vaporeon.  Flareon is better choice.

3.So, Flareon for Ice, Grass, Bug, Steel. Despite its disadvantages for some types.

4.Vaporeon since its more useful towards the ones we need to really work hard to eliminate.

5.Jolteon. Its for flying mainly as well as water.

6. Eevee. Eevee is the better of Espeon and Leafeon. It can learn a whole move set and beat any type despite the fact its not super effective (the normal type pokemon anyway) Plus, being immune to Ghost types have its advantages. That and we can also learn ground type moves to beat certain pokemon like Electric types.

My best pokemon team, or the one I considred the strongest. My white 2 team. Might as well do this... get ready, because here comes the team I beat the game with. And yeah, I'm going to list pretty much everything about them so this might be long... I don't do EV training or anything like that, so online battlers might find it weak.

Umbreon now level 68.

Met at level 18 and has a Hardy nature.

Move Set: Covet, Moonlight, Quick Attack, Bite.

HP: 218, Attack: 117, Defense: 183, Sp. Atk: 110, Sp. Def 189, Speed: 116

Ability: Synchronize

This pokemon can take a hit, but it's weaker than the others because I now use Zoroark, it's stats are lower down.

Lucario now level 87.

Met at level 5 and has a Bold nature

Move Set: Dark Pulse, Aura Sphere, Dragon Pulse, Bone Rush

HP: 251, Attack: 215, Defense: 182, Sp. Atk: 229, Sp. Def: 158, Speed: 196

Ability: Inner Focus

My main fighter. This pokemon basically got me though the game.

Serperior now level 86

Met at level 5 with a Timid nature.

Move Set: Giga Drain, Dragon Tail, Frenzy Plant, Leaf Storm

HP: 257, Attack: 166, Defense: 195, Sp. Atk: 163, Sp. Def: 182, Speed: 261

Ability: Overgrow

My starter, so of course it's still with me. Not to mention it's the best grass type and insanely fast.

Eelecktross now level 82

Met at level 28 with a Lonely nature.

Move Set: Crunch, Acrobatics, Flash Cannon, Thunderbolt

HP: 261, Attack: 251, Defense: 148, Sp. Atk: 196, Sp. Defense: 147, Speed: 128

Ability: Levitate

Floating Eel that's an electric type. Need I say more.

Arcanine now level 84

Met at level 13 with an Adamant nature.

Move Set: Heat Wave, Outrage, Fire Fang, Thunder Fang

HP: 261, Attack: 269, Defense: 167, Sp. Atk: 169, Sp. Def: 146, Speed: 192

Ability:  Flash Fire

Insanely epic fire dog. This pokemon was also very helpful in the game.

Altaria now level 86

Met at level 33 with a Serious nature.

Move Set: Cotton Guard, Bulldoze, Sky Attack, Dragon Pulse

HP: 263, Attack: 172, Defense: 189, Sp. Atk: 146, Sp. Def: 215, Speed: 177

Ability: Natural Cure

My dragon type baby. This got me though the dragon gym.

The reason I put Umbreon instead of Zoroark is because I beat the game with Umbreon then moved to Zoroark. I also only started training this one so it's harldy used, note the Fury Swipes... If Umbreon had a better dark move, such as Dark Pulse, which it will have soon, then it would still be my dark type.

Zoroark now level 85

Met at level 25 with a Hasty nature.

Move Set: Fury Swipes, Punishment, Night Slash, Nigh Daze

HP: 245, Attack: 233, Defense: 135, SP. Atk: 244, SP. Def: 138, Speed: 236

As you can see, no legendarys. This is my epic team from my first play though of White 2. I'm redoing, so note that these are in the original white right now.

New team on White 2 is this.

Magnemite

Litwik

Spheal

Pidove

Tapinch

Meinfoo

I already have some caught, but since I have yet to beat the game, I am not going to give there stats. These were pre determined before I started the game, I wanted to try something new.

Well, there are other ways to beat fighting anyway, so it can still be pretty useful at least. If I could, I would just put Zorua in its place. Its really useful against certain types depending on what it transforms into. (Sometimes, its really good, sometimes its really bad. I beat someone using Zorua that became a Braviary because it was a ground type.)

So far, I haven't seen any of those pokemon. (Since I'm only at Nimbasa) I've been training other places now that I have Fly, but still, my ground types aren't up to par to battle the gym leader. I always wanted a litwik and Meinfoo. So far, the only team I conjurred up included my starter, a Dewott. (or rather, Oshawott.) I haven't found a good rock or ground type yet other then Drilbur and THAT would still require me to battle against multiple trainers to get that evolved. (or past 30, but its not even close to 30. )

@@Scootadress,

If where talking white 2, then you can get a Riolu that evolves into Lucario in the Farm at the beginning of the game. Magnemite and Growlithe can be found at the Poison gym's weird yard thing. And there aren't many good rock or ground types in my opinion, that's why I gave certain pokemon rock moves, Lucario with Bone Rush and Altaria with Bulldoze.

If where talking white, then half of those Pokemon aren't even in that game. Those one's I listed for my new team in White 2, The 4 I have all are at level 40 or higher right now, and I've only got 6 badges.

That's another thing. I do have all those pokemon in White 2 ^^" I do have a Lucario, but no matter how much I'm battling, he's not learning anything new! The only new move he learned was Me First so far. I tried using a fire type more so, and I'm flying back and forth to level my magnemite. So far, its no luck. (There aren't any trainers to gain a boost, and I've been trying the fields)

Just keep pushing. That's all I can think of. The only reason mine ever got that strong was because after the game there is a tree in White Forest that has trainers in it that you can keep battling to level up. But that's of course after the game.

Oh and what level is your Lucario. I think I had to give it Dark Pulse and Dragon Pulse. Aura Sphere is a really high level, and I can't remember about Bone Rush.

Eh nothing to gloat about, I would say that anything past 10 levels is pretty unfair and maybe even impossible without items maybe.

I suppose you could fill the pokedex if you spent enough time, I plan on doing it some day :P.

Of course alot of legendaries you probably couldn't get unless you follow the games closely.

As for the Eeveelutions team I just meant you can't have each and every one fit on a team.

Also Eevee has crappy base stats honestly, Its much better to get leafeon, just because thats also the only really physical damage dealer of the eeveelutions.

Espeon is also very versatile at learning different moves, and has a very good special attack.

So honestly Eevee isn't good by itself that much. All the Eeveelutions are pretty good though.

I think if you where to make an Eeveelution team though Leafeon is mandatory, unless you want to be walled by a special wall or someone who has Lightscreen. Due to lacking anything but special attacks.

I have to wait until X and Y, but right now in the current gen I'd just get a Glaceon, its strong vs dragons, and I don't know anything about Slyveon and how good it is yet.

Well, I was only basing type. Stats can change throughout, it wouldn't stay the same if you use certain items from around the game or even perhaps using the shops even in Join Avenue.

It pretty much is impossible to defeat the pokemon if they are 10 levels over, even if you have the pokemon that is *type wise* stronger then the other. Example: Flaafy lost to a Skarmory after 1 hit. When I hit it...well...it pretty much had zero damage or a tiny dent. My strongest pokemon even lost. (Zorua's my strongest at level 27. I can't explain why though)

Oh so you traded for it. I see now. On White, when I wanted to redo White 2, I wanted to get though White fast, but I couldn't use my uber team, listed above, until after I beat all the gyms because they wouldn't obey. That's why I don't use traded pokemon until after I either beat the game or have all the gym badges.

Well true stats can change, but theres a limit to how much, you can only increase the stats by giving increased EV's to you pokemon which increase a stats growth, but those are limited.

So its really overall better to just teach use Leafeon over Eevee honestly, even if Eevee is normal it doesn't learn a whole lot of powerful or versatile moves, and all of the Eeveelutions have way better base stats, Eevee is just a jack of all trades that overall has pretty bleh stats.

I understand what your saying though, but stats are very important, for instance pokemon like Dunsparce might be way more powerful, if not for low base stats, Dunsparce has a crazy move pool, but pretty terrible base stats.

Base stats are a problem for alot of pokemon that don't evolve, not all, but a good bit, and pokemon that do evolve have better base stats once they evolve and are overall better in almost all cases.(Besides maybe with Eviolite and Blissey, Dusclops, and Gligar, aswell as Pikachu with a light ball)

Not trying to be mean, just saying :P.

And its not impossible to defeat a pokemon 10 levels higher, well it depends on what level you are anyways also, for instance fighting a 50 at level 40 isn't nearly as hard as fighting a level 30 with a level 10, because a level 40 will have a decent set of moves to help and a level 10 won't hardly have any moves.

Plus if you have enough items you can do alot :P. But I try to refrain from using items in battle to much, to try not to feel really cheap. The other trainers use items to, but I still try to limit myself to as little as I need as possible.

@@Scootadress,

Oh so you traded for it. I see now. On White, when I wanted to redo White 2, I wanted to get though White fast, but I couldn't use my uber team, listed above, until after I beat all the gyms because they wouldn't obey. That's why I don't use traded pokemon until after I either beat the game or have all the gym badges.

Its the only thing I'd ever trade to get (other then NPCs)  Zorua is absolutely my favorite pokemon in Unova. I just couldn't get it on my own since I would A) Need to use my old game, but I don't own Celebi anyway in any of my old games yet since I'm doing side games. I heard to get Zorua you needed a Celebi first or something to that extent. B) That would also require removing my cartridge.  Its really bad to in White 2 if your looking at Join Avenue. In one shop I heard they'll be selling shiny stones and sort like that.  By removing it, they'll be out of stock and no fans will come.  The other pokemon wouldn't obey anyway....if I get stronger without the 4th badge.

True. But Leafeon is hard to evolve. At least Espeon and Umbreon evolve in different times of day. I can't seem to find where Leafeon evolves at.

But the problem with Wifi battles or battles in the union room, the use of items tends to be very hard. Unless you have a high charge in the Launcher, you can't use items that are or will, actually going to help..super potions/hyper potions cost 8 and revives cost 12.

@@Scootadress,

But you get a Zorua in White 2. If you didn't I wouldn't have a Zoroark. At the next gym place for you, there is a house with X-team plasma members, and there leader gives you N's Zora. Sorry if this is spoiling anything...

I never knew that ^^"" What house? Everytime I hear anything about Zorua its usually at some place in Castelia City.  I never heard of doing that until now. So far, its probably higher leveled then the Zorua anyways. (Being that, at least for sis, it evolved at 30, so I'm assuming the same) My Zorua's at 27 at least.

@@Scootadress,

In Driftveil City, there is a house on a hill near the Pokemon gym. The guy in there will give you a level 25 Zorua belonging to N. I can't remember but it might be considered traded to. However, it is a legit way to get one in the game.

...,I wish I knew that sooner. Then I wouldn't have fought my sister for one and practically beg for it. I would have gotten that one instead. Though, there is a certain appeal to raising it directly from Level 1 to Level 27.  (Who can honestly say they were with a Zorua since Level 1 and you already have high friendship?)  Now, there needs to be a legit way of getting a stinking Gothita in White 2.

Well Leafeon is actually impossible to evolve unless you level it up near the mosy rock(Which I thought was in Pinwheel forest, but i'm not sure.)

Theres also one in platinum that is in one of the forests I forget the name of.

But yeah, its not all that hard to evolve. Just gotta be in the right place :). Although Espeon and Umbreon are both great in their own roles, and I mean Espeon is a wonderful special sweeper and Umbreon is a great overall wall for either physical or special or both even.

The only reason If I was theortically making a full eeveelutions team that I would use Leafeon is just due to it being the only Eeveelution yet that has specialization in physical attacks.

Wi-fi battles are cool, I actually haven't done Wi-fi battles in B/w and b/w2 so I don't really know much about the wonder launcher, but I've done some battles on Platinum and HG and SS, aswell as Battle revolution, which don't have items, so its all the pokemon, which I think is cool.

I have no idea how the battles with the wonder launcher are, and how good or bad it is, and how much it affects battles, so idk. I'll have to check it out some before I have an actual opinion on it.

Gothita is a black 1 and black 2 exclusive, so its not able to be obtained besides trading with friends and stuff.

But yeah Zorua is able to be obtained in Black and White 2 legit, I don't think you can get it without events in the 1st black and white though.

Yeah I know what you mean. I think there will be an event giving one away soon, so I can at least get one then. That would make me a happy person. Never mind, it's a Global Link Event and I have no idea how to do those...

I did raise a Level 1 Deino to Level 55 or so on one of my playthoughs of White to have to fight the Elite Four. Now that was fun.

Wi fi duels are fun in all media but W/B 2. Its annoying to get items from the Launcher. Your pokemon defeating the challengers give the launchers. The launchers are slow to load.

Gothita I know, is an exclusive. If only I didn't need to trade for one. Really, its annoying to. I need one bad. :(

I think the event was the only thing I managed to her about.

Hm... in each region? Let's see... because I can't choose OVERALL. Hope this helps at least a bit!

Kanto:

Venusaur is really quite useful advantage-wise most of the game, you start off well in the beginning, and it is really quite a strong pokemon. For this, I'd say pick this starter for a 'swift road' throughout your journey.

Rapidash is an extremely fast and effective pokemon, definitely recommended to get battles taken care of. It has a fairly strong move set, and a pretty good advantage with the abundance of Grass-type pokemon in Kanto.

Pidgeot is a very strong bird-type, and has very great durability and speed. Useful for flying around, it is definitely a need to any functional team.

Nidoking has fantastic attack and versatility, and really packs a punch. Not so much of an advantage in speed, It's still highly recommended in any strong team.

Lapras has the ability to wield electric-type attacks, and has a great amount of durability and HP. Definitely useful regarding that I did not include an electric-type.

Dragonite is the last form of the first dragon-type, incredible stats, ect. N'uff said.

And if you want a legendary, which pretty always have great stats, then okay. But keep in mind that you can't can't always use legendaries especially when battling others online.

Jhoto:

Feraligatr has the best starter stats in this region, and pretty smooth-sailing. Definitely a recommendation for a strong team.

Crobat has great poison advantages and attacks. Bonus, it also can learn fly.

Scizor never fails with strength, even though it has a few weaknesses. A definite favorite of mine.

Ampharos is fairly easy to grow, although a bit slow to train. It makes up for it though a solid balancer for advantages, and attacks.

Jumpluff is a very good edition to your party, and let's face it: you probably should get a grass-type. It's main weakness is fire-types and grass-types, but It's flying-type also, so you have an advantage against bug-types.

Magcargo is a rock-fire type, and that's a great combination. It does a great job as a fire-type to your party.

Hoenn:

Swampert is so useful in the Hoenn region, and it is very smooth-sailing. It has a very cool diversity of moves, and packs a punch.

Shedinja is very rare, and very valuable. It has an unusual type set of bug-ghost, and has tons of advantages.

Camerupt is a fire-ground type, and is really great at combat. It has a weakness water, but is pretty sturdy.

Shiftry has an amazing attack-stat. A bit slow to train, but still very much worth it.

Sableye is an amazing combination of dark-ghost, which means it has no weaknesses. Please, by any circumstances, try to get this pokemon.

Salemence is extremely slow to train, and a pain in the ass to find, but easily one of the most powerful non-legendary in the game.

Sinnoh:

Empoleon is very easy to train, and has great stats and moves. The best in my opinion of this region's starters.

Staraptor is easily one of my favorite bird pokemon for a reason. It grows smoothly, and It's stats are one of the best for bird pokemon.

Abomasnow has great attacks and attack stats. Fairly easy to train, and the best grass-type regarding this region.

Garchomp is another one of those really hard pokemon to get for a reason. Easily one of the best non-legendaries for Sinnoh.

Magmortar is hard to get, like seemingly everything else good in Sinnoh, but it is ideal for combatants, and has a powerful move-set.

Spiritomb is like Sableye because it shares almost the same type set. Being ghost-dark, it is only one of two pokemon that has no weaknesses.

Unova:

Samurott has been my personal best in experiences regarding this set of starters. It has fantastic special attack.

Simisear is what you'll get if you choose to have the elemental monkeys in your party, and of you choose the starter above. It does a wonderful job balancing out your parties advantages.

Sawsbuck is pretty fast and sturdy. Easily my favorite out of experiences regarding grass-types. Not to mention, it has a pretty fun experience with season-change.

Zoroark as far as I'm concerned is not a legendary, and It's stats are a bit lower than that of a normal legendary. Very hard to get, it has a pretty useful move-set.

Haxorus has some of the best attack stats I've seen. Extremely recommended, although a pain as well to get.

Hydreigon is so great. Fantastic stats like any other dragon, and pretty badass. Dragon abundance is pretty important. (Aw, this one isn't a gif... D:)

There you go. This took a while, but it was worth it. Hope this was persuasive in any way. ;)

@@Scootadress,

In white, there at Victory Road. In White 2, you have to catch two of there second eveloutions, either on or near the victory road, then get and egg to get it.

I don't think I ever mentions what I consider to be the best pokemon.

In my opinion, one that was insanely epic was Empoleon from the Shinnoh region. That and Starraptor, those things could kill anything.
