Why did Pinkie's Pinkie Sense not work in the Crystal Empire, Part 2?

Near the end of the Crystal Empire, Part 2, Spike is fretting over whether Twilight will pass her test or not. He is then crushed by the door when she comes out of the castle. Why did Pinkie Pie's Pinkie sense not sense to "Look out for opening doors", right before Spike was crushed? Does it only work some of the time?

Because its a show meant for girls and the episodes are not really cannon and will for the most part not change the character in any way. For us grown ups we will question this since that is something that was supposed to happen, but its not.

Little girls however won't question it at all since they probably don't even remember that episode in the first place, or its meaning and character development.

I agree, the people who make the show don't really put that much importance into fitting in those extra little things. Little girls obviously don't have such a complex mind as we do, so they won't question it. In kid's shows anything can happen, and nobody is supposed to question it.

Maybe they didn't remember it. It's very small detail after all. The little girl show argument is fine, but they know that they have older people watching it. If they remembered the pinkie pie thing they probably would have added it. Don't  underestimate the show to much.

I guess that the writers decided not to make the Pinkie sense more complex, since the kids probably didn't really care to notice it. So, the writers probably forgot to add that in.

Because it's Pinkie. In my world, her sense comes and goes. She can't really control it, but it happens a lot more often when she's thinking about it (the reason it happened so much in the same episode).

It's possible that Feeling Pinkie Keen was just a day where her sense was more active than usual. Maybe she only sees the future some of the time, and that time, she didn't. Really, I have no idea. It was most likely just an error.

Because Pinkie has proven she does things via 'toon logic', as per Roger Rabbit. She may very well have known it was going to happen thanks to Pinkie Sense, but that same Pinkie Sense probably told her that it was going to be funny so she let it happen.
