Trixie Was just playing a gimmick, why did the mane six call her out for it?

Trixie was just running the classic strongman routine. She shows off obnoxiously, which forces local egos up onto the stage. At which point she utterly humiliates them. There's nothing remotely intended to be fair about it. The entire point is that the non-egos get to see someone who thinks they are so awesome be put to shame. How many Ponyvillians secretly wanted to see show-offs like Rainbow Dash or Rarity mocked and rendered helpless?

Trixie's real flaw is that her smug self-worship is real. She carries it into the backstage. That's no good.

I was pretty surprised at how hostile everyone was when she returned. They weren't sneering at her when she ran off. Twilight didn't see her as some sort of nemesis when she left. I don't know if Pinkie even met her. If they wanted to reasonably establish that she was the bad guy, it might have made more sense to have the Mane Six be friendly and have the hostility from her side.

But what else could you draw the crowd in, they were the ones bringing themselves into a situation that wouldn't be if they didn't assume something. Plus, this is a world full of ponies with magic. That would seem fairly....common? I mean, you challenged her, you wouldn't know what she'll do to drag the crowd in. Plus, they, in a way, they sorta humiliated her on her stage.

....yes, which is why I said one could argue that the mane six assumed too much. I never questioned Trixie's initial performance.

What I said was that she didn't deliver, AND she humiliated them. And how exactly did they humiliate Trixie on stage? She challenged them, they took her up on her challenge.

If we're going to defend Trixie on the grounds that she has issues, it's just as easy to argue that she should have gotten help for them instead of grandstanding across Equestria. That's what psychologists call maladaptive behavior. It puts off the symptoms while prolonging the disorder. And considering that her first visit indirectly caused an Ursa Minor to come roaring into town, is it any surprise that Ponyvillians didn't want her there? It's one thing to not rub it in when her wagon is destroyed and she slinks out of town in disgrace, it's quite another to refrain from welcoming her back with open arms.

I never thought of this. If someone just came up to me on the street and started bragging, I'd be bothered by it, but I'd love to see a performer with lots of pride. You're absolutely right.

From what I saw in the Episode Boast Busters, Trixie was doing what any Performer would do to get attention, play an intrestng gimmick, But Rarity and AJ called her out for it because she was being too "cocky", And When she Said that shes the most talented Unicorn Spike tried to stop her if it wasn't for Twilight. Twilight was the only Pony who wasn't a jerk torward Trixie. And it wasn't even Trixie's fault that The Ursa Minor came to Ponyvill, but she got all the blame when she had notihng to do with it. well perhabs if The Mane Six din't break Kayfabe Trixie wouldn't have enslaved Ponyvill later on. I watch Pro Wrestling but I would never hate a person for the Gimmick he plays no matter how much I hate it. I swear Sometime Equestria takes it to the extreme when it comes to "Everypony has to be nice, those who aren't must go to tartarus."

The problem was that Trixie's gimmick was a real talent, and by playing on it she was taking away credit from the ponies who are actually good at it.

The IRL equivalent would be photoshopping pictures and claiming you're an expert painter.
