Azura looked at Carrick and said "This is just the very beginning. I will be back, and when I do, you and your friends will bleed.." Her mind went completely blank, her eyes closed as she fell onto Carrick like a dead pony.

 

When she opened her eyes, she was floating around, someplace dark and endless. Where was she? Maybe she was inside her own mind. She started to hear a voice in the distance, but she couldn't tell who it was and what she was saying.

Hypno watched the events unfold, a slight smirk on his face as he watched Azura lose her own mind. He almost didn't even seem to care about the fact the apartment started to rumble. Insanity is such a fun thing to watch, but less to experience depending on your definition of enjoyment. He thought as he watched Azura collapse. He kept his attention to Azura but still went to search the Apartment.

Phoenix was caught off guard when Azura's voice became so boisterous that it shook the entire house.

Phee started feeling weird. Her front hoof felt like it was burning, a painful stinging sensation unlike any she had felt ever. As she had never been burned before. She looked down at her right forehoof to see some bright light escape from under it. This confused Phee as she lifted her hoof to see nothing under it. It was then she looked at her underhoof that she saw that the rune she had always remember having, was glowing brightly. She tried her best to hide it by putting her hoof back down on flat ground so no one could see the glowing rune, but it was too late. She was almost positive at least one of the ponies here saw it

Azura suddenly collapsed into Carrick's arms. And when she collapsed, Phee's rune's glowing and the pain from the glowing subsided.

Phee walked over to Carrick

"We might want to find some place to lay her down. Without compromising the crime scene." Phee said, looking around at the fresh bloody mess that once was Donut Joe's residence.

Quickly saw the rune on her hoof and instantly thought, Blaze. He shook his head, Impossible. That rune doesn't exist. And yet, it has his signature written all over it; warm like a hearth fire and bright as a star. This pony is not only holding something back, she lied to me. There is no possible way she could not know Blaze. But... No, this conversation is one for a private place, and a private time. He made sure he shot her a glance, and that their eyes met. Many messages could be conveyed through eye contact; he simply hoped she got right one.

What a mess this is. Carrick took the body as he place her on his shoulders. "There isn't really a place that couldn't evidence. Guess she stays with me for now." Carrick was thankful she wasn't all too heavy and his genetics today. The detective glance at Quickly then takes the unconscious body back to the scene.

Sapphire watched Carrick subdue Azura. She took note of the possible danger that she could cause in the future. Then, from the corner of her eye she noticed a glowing light coming from Phoenix. Sapphire dismissed it, it probably wasn't important. "What's the plan now that we have a possible unstable pony here?" She asked Carrick.

Carrick looked at Sapphire, "I've dealt with unstable ponies before," Carrick added. "If we leave her out of sight out of mine. She might do this again, but in a public place. Who knows what will happen then." Carrick took her and drop her on the blue couch. It seems like it wouldn't have any merit to the case. He took his coat and place it on her. Wrapping it around her body. Whatever marking she has probably lead to this...or she has a bad case of DiD. The detective trotted back to the room. "Somepony take a look at her, and when she comes back awake...I need to have a chat with her." 

 

The detective took his time back to the room and then turned to Sapphire, "You said that the magic traces were the same, correct?"

"Yes, the magic used is exactly the same as the one in the alley. There is no doubt this is the same pony." She replied to Carrick.
"I'll watch Azura in case she awakens, if you need me I'll just be here."

"Carrick, I would just like to say this before we start the investigation. I am having the same feeling I had in the morgue. A feeling of anger, a feeling of unfinished work. A feeling of untimeliness." Phee said as she looked around the room cautiously. 

Is this what those with the mp wave sense feel all the time? Phee thought  Sixth sense seems like it would be more trouble than it is worth.

Quickly walks over to Phee. (I suspect you didn't read my last post) "I would like to have a word with you privately. About your mark, mostly. There's a room in the back within shouting distance." He frowns at her signature. "Being around you... It's a bit like being around a fire that can't decide whether to blaze and burn everypony nearby... Or glow and warm the ponies around it," he mumbles, just soft enough to hear it. He walks off to his back room.

Carrick simply nodded at Sapphire. Hearing Phoenix's words had help him push forward on his theories. Same magic presence again, it's no doubt that the same murderer that killed Azura's companion and our victim has killed this one as well. The better question is, why kill Joe Donut? The detective looked at the murder earth pony, as he saw the same cuts just as before. Maybe there is some type of connection between all these ponies? I can't tell at all. The detective took his time to look around the room. While the blood did spray most of the room, he took his time to notice it quickly.

 

A open closet, not full of blood. Just standing there as if it was a tease to him. Carrick walk over to it inside. 

 

He saw a few clothes, some that were actually very nice and a open file cabinet. Why is this in a closet. Carrick look and saw took out a folder. It had some information on some random pony. Gloves Notepad? Why does that name sound familiar? Carrick took out all the folders out of the cabinet. Seeing various names that gave a familiar sense to him. Could they be? Carrick tapped his chin as he remember those names....

She entered a room more towards the back of the house, the door was open slightly. When she entered, the room had been lit by outside light from the window only. The room looked like some type of study. Just a small book case, a desk and a window. She saw the blue colt standing, looking out the window. 

"You wanted to speak with me?" Phoe knew she had to be careful around this pony in particular. For Blaze's journal explained in detail the full extent of his MP Wave/sixth sense. 

I bet my MP signature is abnormal enough to confuse him. And I am willing to bet he saw my rune... I have to tread lightly here.

"I have to believe there's a good reason for you to lie to us. I want to know when the time comes, you'll be able to be trusted with our backs. Normally, after learning a pony had lied to me I would be unable to trust them, but..." he sighs, "There are multiple reasons why I'm going to forgive this one. But I know that something like that," he says, pointing to her hoof, "Can only come from one pony. And whatever it is, it's a gift. Which makes the two of you friends, are something like it. I'm not Carrick, the kinds of skills I need to complete this puzzle are the kinds he specializes in." He sighs and rubs his temples, looking out the window, "Equestria. A peaceful land of law and order, a center of commerce and education. Even as weakened and divided as it is, a powerful force to be reckoned with. But with Celestia gone, and the conspiracies in the streets, I fear it may not last." He turns back to her, and cracks a grin, "These thoughts, I shouldn't be thinking such thoughts. I have plenty of life left. There's only one thing I need right now; a promise. Whatever secret your hiding, and that means any secret, if it has anything to do with the case, or has lends practical advantage to this team at all, you'll tell that secret to Carrick. Can you do that?"

Azura felt like she was being sucked back into reality. "Wait!" Her eyes opened, only to find herself laying on a couch with a nice, warm jacket wrapped around her. She blinked a few times, staring at nothing but the ceiling. "Where am I?" She asked herself. A mansion?

Hypno looked through as many rooms as he could, but came up with nothing. Usually he would be able to smell what he was looking for, but here he both didn't know what he was looking for, and the smell of blood had overpowered everything else. He sat down with a slight sigh, wondering what they should do next. He watched Quickly took the new pony into a different room, and was slightly intrigued as to why. It gained his interest, but he decided to put it off for now.

Phee listened silently, and waited for Quickly to finish saying his piece. When he finished talking, Phee sat silently for about thirty seconds thinking it over before speaking
 

"Quickly, I don't know you, Carrick, or any of the other ponies very well. But I assume you all have your own secrets, that you hide even from each other. Secrets so devastating that if any pony knew, it could mess everything up. I could be wrong, but I think everyone has those type of secrets to some extent. And if so, there is probably a really good reason that they go through great lengths to hide them. I can't promise to tell you guys anything about my secrets, I just can't. But I can assure you, that at some point, when the time comes, all will be revealed. But right now is not the time, nor the place. In fact, I don't even know the setting myself. I just have a feeling that my secret will be relevant some time in the near future. And one more thing, just to be perfectly clear. I want you to know what my priorities are. Right now, my priorities are for some pony else, someone who is in desperate need for help, and is trapped some place that I can't get to right now. I am not strong enough, I am not good enough. I cannot help this pony just yet, but it is on the top of my list. But you guys come second. And I am convinced that helping you will help me in the end." Phee finished her spiel with a sigh.

"I hope that that explanation was enough for you. Now if you don't mind... I will be getting back to Carrick now." Phee said. She waited for an answer or some form of reply before exiting the room...

He nodded, "Another thing; not having a cutie mark doesn't make you weak. It makes you different, and harder to predict. I'm sure that, by the end of this shin-dig, you'll have done plenty of things the 'normal' pony can barely dream of. It isn't here," he says, tapping his flank, "It's here and here." He tapped his head, and his chest, then patted her on the shoulder, smiling. "Anyway, I'm sure Carrick has a lot for you to annotate. Any longer, and they'll think I tried to do something stupid," he joked, opening the door for her.

Sapphire noticed Azura regain consciousness. "Carrick, she's awake!" She called out.
Then, a knock at the door. Sapphire being in the room adjacent to the entrance went up to the door, which was broken down. "Yes?" 
"Canterlot guard, we have reports of a braking and entering, you are under a---." They looked and recognized Sapphire. "Ma'am we didn't realize you were already here, do you require anymore assistance." The two guardsmen asked after noticing their commanding officer.

"No, but I want this place hush-hush, no news spreading. Report as a false call." She replied in a commanding tone.
"Yes Ma'am." They said as the left.
She walked back to the room where Carrick was. "If you didn't hear Azura is awake now, and some guardsmen where here but I took care of it, we shouldn't have any problems."

Carrick look over at Sapphire, telling her that Azura was awake. Just the pony she was looking for. "Guardsmen? It might to lead suspicion if anypony saw them moving. We better move fast and lock this place down before anypony starts wondering." Carrick took all the folders and walk down into the living room, where he left Azura with his jacket. She looked confused as if she never knew what hit her.

 

The detective placed the folders on the table and trotted towards, Azura. "Hello, Azura. You look rested."

He felt her pent up emotions like a forest-fire had sprung up around him, and frowned. There are plenty of things I will never understand. This is not one of them; when I lost my memory after obtaining the tablet, I lost my cutie mark. I actually managed to earn a new one, with Dash. But before that? Well, a grown stallion without a cutie mark... Not pretty. As I gained my memories back, the two marks clashed, but I believe I've achieved balance. He looked at his own flank, the crossbow overlapping the winged boots semi-concealed by his equipment. The movement dislodged a photo from his pack. It was him and Dash, before he'd gotten his mark. He blushed and dove for it, and fell short. It landed, face up, infront of Phoenix. He blushed harder, "S-Secrets, right?" Edited August 18, 2013 by Dawnpath

Azura looked at Carrick weirdly and said "I do?" She wondered what was going on and why she was laying down on a couch with a jacket around her. Why did Sapphire call him over? What happened?

 

She tried to remember what happened before but she couldn't. Her mind went blank, she could only remember meeting the other ponies at the cafe and something about going somewhere. "Hey Carrick, could you tell me why we're all here?"

She doesn't remember the entire incident? When did she switch to her alter-half? Carrick sat down on the couch next to her. "We're here in Donut Joe's residence. Seems like he was....murdered." The detective place his hoof on her shoulder. "Seems like we were too late to contact him. From looks of it, he was the same who killed your boyfriend as well." Carrick said.

Wait. Why did they murder Donut Joe? What did he ever do? The same murderer that killed her beloved? "W- What happened before I blacked out?" She closed her eyes and tried to remember but there was nothing but emptiness. Why couldnt she remember? Her curiosity started growing rapidly.

Carrick thought about it for a second. Telling her blunt could stress her out even more, but it could be worst if she doesn't know. He sighed, as he went down the hard path, "You went inside and saw the body...then turning into a different pony. Somepony who wanted to destroy everything in here and had no care about anypony safety. I had to grab you and try to subdue you. Then, you fell on me." Carrick stated.
