Well I can think of a couple of advantages.

If I had a PS3 for example, I be finally able to play freaking Skyrim.

My computer certainly can't handle it. And a PS3 would be cheaper.

You do have a point.

Looking at the price of the PS3, you can get one for like $190, at least for the one with only 12GB flash memory. Then again, you can add a 1TB HDD for like $40, and you get a grand total of $230. The graphics and frame rate aren't as fancay as the PC master gods, but hey, at least it's quite playable out of the box. You can't build a decent gaming PC at that price that'll run every game smoothly and consistently.
