I'll be honest, I've only gotten around to the first one. I've been busy studying for a few tests, but I will get on them ASAP once my assignments ease up.

Don't judge a book by its cover. You will truly understand it if you're just willing to read it.

So. Apple.

Explain this to me. Is this a computer or a trash can?

Did you know that thunderbolt ports allow for 6 things plugged into each of them? :comeatus:

I actually really like the design too

My grandma has an iMac. You know where none of the USB ports are? The front. They are all in the back.

So...like...what if I want to hook up a flash drive? Oh, I've gotta pull the whole thing out and put it in the back? You know how many USB ports I have in the front of my PC? 3. And my motherboard has another 10 ports on the back if I've just got that many flash drives all at once. Oh, and among my 13 USB ports, 3 of them are USB 3.0.

Macs use all the same hardware that PC's use as well. So yeah.

The funny thing is that I've probably got about $1,200 sunk into my PC in hardware + OS. That iMac probably cost my grandma an easy $2,500. It uses a standard 500 GB hard drive (I'm running 1.6 TB in my system with 128 GB of SSD), Intel Core i5 (I don't know which i5), probably running Intel integrated graphics (no way Apple would give you a nice enough AIO to give you dedicated memory), and I want to say the screen resolution may be 1600 x 900 but it could be 1920 x 1080.

PC master race. Amirite? :comeatus:

In Apple's defense, it's not like they really expect people to be using the iMacs for serious things, that's what the Pros are for ;)

Maybe not but if I'm gonna have a computer for messing around on the interwebs and checking email I'm likely to get a chrome book. I don't understand why people who aren't music or video producers use Mac. The hardware is expensive and the UI is terrible. I can make a PC do whatever I want. I can't even figure out how to turn on my grandma's Mac half the time.

AIO pc's are terrible no matter what though. I can't justify the size saving attributes with the price and generally poor performance they deliver. I could spend $2,000 on an AIO that's half as good as a $2,000 custom built desktop PC. And you know what the downsides to the desktop are? Size and the inconvenience of a few extra cables that connect my peripherals. The uptick to desktops and why I'll swear by them til the day I die is that if ANYTHING breaks on an AIO, it's just like a laptop. You'll either have a hard time doing it yourself or you have to send it in and pay a crap ton to have it fixed by a "pro." If anything at all breaks on a desktop, you only need to order the part that broke, swap it out, and go on your merry way.
