How is getting rid of Windows while still running it possible.

I phrased that wrong

 

I've gotten rid of the GUI basically, the windows shell, Windows Explorer? Gone. The Taskbar? Gone. Task manager and the login screen are the only bits of the UI I haven't gotten rid of
