Well, Flash Sentry could be good if they did take the time to flesh his character out, but unfortunately they're busy enough developing the Mane 6, developing Sunset Shimmer, not developing Spike, and bringing in new villains and situations for the Mane 6 to overcome, so there really isn't much room for it.

 

Also, his line "you guys are sounding really tight" might qualify as one of the goofiest misuses of slang I think I have ever heard in media.

I trust the writers as professionals, but I don't believe them to be perfect, and there are plenty of things I think they definitively could be doing better with in this show. My number one case in point will always be Spike's misuse as a character. Also, look at all the story potential left on the table and all of the characters that are underutilized or overutilized. If they were perfect, these wouldn't be problems. This show is a long way from perfect, but it's still an amazing show for what it has done.
