Slice0Pie 815 August 19, 2013 Share August 19, 2013 Well, my friend is a pegasister, like I am. She love's MLP so much. Don't get me wrong, she is an amazing friend, but she is a little on the weird side. *Either that or I'm crazy XD* Well, she wants a Rainbow Dash Part, which actually sounds cool, she wants to play it 24/7, she changes her OC 24/7, she pretends she's either her OC or Cadence, she acts like a horse, like, she make's the sounds, and ya. Don't get me wrong, like I said, she is my best friend, but a little on the weird side. What do you guys think? *And please don't say anything beyond the rudeness*
Scootalove 10,689 August 19, 2013 Share August 19, 2013 I think that she just enjoys it so much, that she enjoys being weird even when the show is mentioned probably. I think it is out of fun. Credit: Moony © Forum FAQ Forum Rules
ReGen 1,466 August 19, 2013 Share August 19, 2013 What's wrong with being crazy? Seriously though, maybe she just finds it fun to do stuff like that. As long as there are no bodies involved, it shouldn't hurt anyone, right? "I keep the walking on the right side, but I won't judge the next who handles walking on the wrong. NavelColt 22,880 August 19, 2013 Share August 19, 2013 This thread appears to be related to the My Little Pony franchise and/or the Bronydom in general. Thus, it has been sentenced to Sugarcube Corner. This is an automatically generated message, by the way.
Katskratch 59 August 19, 2013 Share August 19, 2013 I'm going to say that as long as she's happy there's really nothing you need to do about it. It's her life's journey, who knows how she'll look back on this phase in five years? Let her enjoy the now.
Shanks 10,816 August 19, 2013 Share August 19, 2013 Alot of great things can be taken too far including ponies but the measuring stick I use for determining that is the following. Does the interest adversely affect ability to attend to certain responsibilities? Does the interest overshadow other ones? Does the interest get displayed in manner which reasonable people could find annoying? There is nothing wrong with having a Rainbow Dash party or pretending to be your OC or a character and even being a tad eccentric but it a matter of balance and degree which can be difficult to determine at times. Hansel 1,512 August 19, 2013 Share August 19, 2013 (edited) And when I said 'She wants a rainbowdash part' I mean party >.< Wow, she sounds totally insane! Why would she go out of her way to throw a Rainbow Dash themed party when Twilight Sparkle and Fluttershy are best ponies? Some important questions right there. Not entirely sure about the middle though. Maybe that's because I don't quite understand the extent you're talking about. And yeah, it's not exactly clear where that line is. The first question I would ask is; does all of this undermine her ability to function as a human being? Is all of this wasting her true potential? The first question's actually similar to EarthbendingProdigy's first question I guess. If both questions can be answered as "no" then I've got no reason to believe that this is anything to be worried about. Even if this does turn out to be pathological, that's really just an indicator that this person's been troubled from the get-go and should be given care, not stigmatized like society seems to get off on doing. Jamesblorg39welsh 125 August 19, 2013 Share August 19, 2013 Welp if she's throwing a rainbow dash party get pinky vinyl and derpy so that they can use there party bass and muffin cannons to keep the haters out "If you feel the need to treat me like garbage, I'll feel the need to throw you into the back of a compressing garbage truck." "I'd rather "go to hell" for hugging a guy I like then makeout in heaven with a girl I don't." Harmonic Revelations 8,835 August 19, 2013 Share August 19, 2013 Being crazy is completely okay. I would like to point out though that if somebody is a fan of anything to the point that it is encompassing all other parts of their life, yes, it's bad, it's called fanaticism. Maybe that's because I don't quite understand the extent you're talking about. And yeah, it's not exactly clear where that line is. What I meant was does the interest in this ponies overshadow all other interest to such an extent that it seems that ponies is the only interest? It is okay to love ponies, none of us would be on here if we didn't know that was the case but there are other things in life as well that are worth trying and enjoying as well. Flutter's lover <3 8,205 August 20, 2013 Share August 20, 2013 I don't....know....does having 20 ponies on your desk count as "too much of a fan?" There's not a place in my room where you can look and not see ponies, then again it is "my" room. However,I don't always talk about ponies, but when I do it's with another bony. My life doesn't revolve around ponies, though I do think about them through out the day sometimes., whether it be a song a fan fic,episode..etc. But I also think about other stuff. as far as noise making and the like, I can'tsay I have done that.....I have accidentally said "anypony" before though. Fluttershy's lover, she's my waifu. I'm in love and obsessed with her, she's given me shyabetes. *Hnnnng* Yellow Pink Squee Blogs | Ask one of Fluttershy's biggest fans | Official Fluttershy fanclub page! Metemponychosis 1,261 August 20, 2013 Share August 20, 2013 A very personal answer... People take life way too seriously even when it doesn't need to be taken seriously. She has fun with it, and as long as she is not hurting others, I say let her enjoy herself. https://www.fimfiction.net/user/32864/Metemponychosis For dumb, self-important fics about mythology, ponies and fascist griffons that can't figure friendship out. Onylex 2,837 August 21, 2013 Share August 21, 2013 By "possible to be too much a of a fan" do you mean something like being to out spoken about being a brony(or pegasister if you prefer)? I dont think its possible to be to much of a fan but, I do think that is possible to be to out spoken. Bronies who run around announcing to the world that they are a bony and spamming it in peoples faces are really annoying. Your friend sounds fine just the way she is, as long as she doesn't spamming and announce it to everybody on the planet that shes a brony(pegasister). Not_A_Replicant 109 August 21, 2013 Share August 21, 2013 Of course it's possible. Have you ever seen collegehumor's My Little Brony video? I'd call the guy in that video too much of a fan.
Moonlight 7,286 August 21, 2013 Share August 21, 2013 It is a bit possible to be too much of a fan. But, what your friend does...is odd. But, as long as she doesn't hurt anyone in the process of obsessing, then I'm not going to complain and it's none of my business. 1 matching setups with my bff pathfinder

Nah, I would say that he is too much of a fan. He's just really out spoken about MLP. A signal mention of anything pony related and he goes crazy. ~Silver Essence~ 2,625 August 22, 2013 Share August 22, 2013 There will always be super fans towards anything, don't worry. Give them time, and they calm down eventually. Or it could be worse like the 1D and Twilight vampire fans....

Like she sounds like an awesome friend! I mean super fans are going to be with anything. It's kind of like when the Pokemon craze was sweeping the states and you liked Pokemon ,but there was always that one kid on the block who always wore Pokemon shirts and had so much Pokemon merch and then when you went over to their house their room is just everything Pokemon and some people would be like "That's odd" or would be like "This is the holy grail". I would say I'm on the road to being a super fan. I have just about everything I own with some sort of pony merch on it or attached to it.

Splashee 28,564 December 8, 2021 Share December 8, 2021 @Slice0Pie If you come back one day, tell us what happened to your friend? The behavior is kinda cute, but can also be a cover up for something else that might be too difficult to deal with by herself.
