The Runescape Thread!

 

Quite frankly, i was surprised to not being able to find a thread about it! I'm pretty sure (and also hope) there are some RS players out there, well, this thread's for you!

Quick story of Runescape : It's a game made by Jagex, maybe you know them from Funorb. I believe it began in 2002 as a very "basic" game, but through the years it has had a ton of updates, and has quite alot of players on it (although it decreased again)

Now, if you're new to it, i guess you could compare it SOMEWHAT to WoW, but not completely. You play as a character you create yourself, and do quests and skills to obtain money, and level-ups, and the general mmorpg things.

It got me hooked in 2007, and i'm proud to announce i'm a 7 year veteran to the game! Hooray for me, not so hooray for my wallet.

oh runescape... that brings back some memories. 

i played that years ago. i think that account still exists. it's level 80-something i think.

i might actually go back and play that again now :3

Be warned for some SERIOUS changes, it's going to take time to get adjusted to it, trust me on that. It's still a good game though, it's a shame how alot of people quit because they changed the combat system and the interfaces.

Haha, is this game still up in running? It has so much better competition out there now, that I thought people stopped playing it. Well, I guess It's cool 'cause It's free.

 

I played this back when I was in early junior high and in late elementary school. I never got too far, but I loved that game to pieces.

I used to love this game!!! I actually tried it a couple days ago and i had no idea how to play it was so different. Plus i remember when it used to have over 200,000 people and now it only has like 20,000

they changed the combat system? that's a shame. i always loved how simple it was. i bet they kinda made it look like something like WoW or something

This is the new system, but it looks much more complicated on this video than it is in the game.

 

Pretty much, the "special attacks" have been replaced by "abilities". Each ability has it's own special effect, and while fighting you build up "adrenaline" that can be used to activate stronger abilities.

 

Also, certain abilities require levels/equipment, like having a two-handed sword, or a shield.

 

Also, armor counts toward bonus HP now. And you can dual-wield weapons( yeah, i don't know why either...)

Oh, this game. I remember when I used to really love it. Ya know, before EoC had to plague it. :l

 

I actually still play it (somewhat, im in one of my little hiatus things I do every so often) and still love it the same, but its just not what I used to play it for. 5-6 years of playing and id not change that ever.

 

Id actually go back to fully playing it like I used to if I wasn't busy with League so much. Damn thing won't let me afk skill at all. :z

Oh man, I really need to get back into runescape. I played it so much a few years back but I haven't player it in forever because the computer I have sucks. Ironically the computer I used before was about 40 years older than the one I have now.

My older brother played Runescape for years. Then he maxed-out, and quit when Runescape 3 came out.

Now he spends his days playing Minecraft and watching Dragonball. You can look up handle, The Andrew.

I use to play runescape a while ago, I was like 87 or something, I never maxed out on any skill, but I had like 90 woodcutting.

 

Never maxed though.

 

I just kinda got bored canceled my membership and yeah. The game is really boring without membership. And I just am kinda to busy to play it much anyways. And again I just kinda got tired of it.

OMG I played this game for almost a year

 

 

It is baiscally just leveling numbers up from 0 to 99

 

Its really as simple as that... after 11 months I noticed that i wasted my life^^
