open The Town

At the end of a road in the middle of a forest is a seemingly quite and simple town, it isnt too big and it isnt too small, on the outside, one would find it quite peaceful, a lovely place to live, or stay in the motel, the town has what most towns its size have, a lake side motel, a hospital, police station, and a bar, along with various other buildings like small shopping marts, and a gas station,  the ponies who lived there seemed quite friendly, it seemed like such a shame that the town was so isolated, was it possible that not was what it seemed?

 

a light mist and early morning fog covered the town, few ponies were up, and the sun was just rising

Ember smiled as he trotted into the town.  He didn't seem to remember this town being on any of the maps he had looked at, but he traveled a lot and was used to finding things that nopony had bothered to write down.  I wonder where this is, he thought to himself.  I should ask somepony...  Maybe after breakfast.  His stomach growled at that thought, which made him chuckle to himself as he started walking down the lines of shops in hopes of finding an open cafe, or at least a place to buy a bite of food.

Hyper was tired, really tired, from last night. He had stayed out with his buddies drinking into the wee hours of the night. It seemed like he had just drifted off to sleep when the sun crept through the blinds and into his eyes. I really need to stop doing this, he thought, even though he'd thought that same thing  hundreds of times. The sun's waaay too bright. my head is killing me. Man, I really need to stop doing this.

Repsol trotted through a valley, large mountains rising up on either sides. The small path he was following just barely visible in the distance. He want for a quick jog, but decided to just see how far exactly he could go. He had been going for hours now, and he actually got kinda lost.

As he made his way over a hill a small town came into view. thank celestia! He thought as he picked up his pace, his nwefound destination coming ever closer.

There weren't a lot of ponies in the town, but Repsol managed to find one.

"Excuse me sir, do you know how i can get to ponyville from here?"

The stallion just kept on walking. Not even batting Repsol an eye. ooookaaayy... not creepy or whatever.

Repsol trotted over to another civillian only to get the same treatment.

he sighed in defeat as he spotted a Motel. "Might aswell make sure i got somewhere to sleep now."

a cafe came into view, it looked inviting and the according to a sign on the door it was open

the motel looked surprisingly inviting, there was a pony sitting on the outside porch, she looked old, she was sitting in a rocking chair, she looked up and Respol "Hi there! I havent seen you before, looking for a place to stay?"

Repsol gave the elderly lady a warm smile. Finally somepony he could actually talk to.

"Hello m'am, i sure am. Are there still rooms free?" He looked over the building once before continueing. "Nice place you got here. My name is Repsol Rave by the way, pleasure to meet you"

"Yes, come this way" she got up and led him inside, the inside of the motel looked nice  "Since im nice, ill get you a room that has a nice view of the lake" she went around the desk and got a key, the said "R. 137" "Here you go, the rooms are down that hallway." the hallway was T shaped, down the hall, something was moving, next to one of the corners a small black thing was moving, it looked like the end of  lizard tail, but is moved behind the corner out of sight, the old mare completely oblivious to this smiled "Have a nice stay!"

Hyper decided to get up and get moving, because he wasn't the type to just lay about, even with a hangover. He decided to go down to the cafe, because it was usually calm and mellow. The last thing he wanted was to go somewhere that was loud and bustling. As he walked in, he noticed a new face in the cafe. This town doesn't get visitors that often, thought Hyper. Maybe I should go make him feel welcome.

Ember found a quiet table in the cafe, looking over the menu.  After a quick decision, he ordered some toast and juice.  "Er, wait, do you mind telling me where I am?" he asked the waiter, who walked off with his order without answering the question.  "Or...  Not, that's okay too..."  He waited for his food and started to eat quietly when he noticed another pony looking at him.  He gave them a nervous smile around a mouthful of toast.

Hyper saw the newcomer smile. He thought he should go say something. He walked across the cafe to the stranger and flashed a big smile. "Hello. My name's Hyper Tumble. Welcome to Oak Hills, the nicest place this side of Baltimare. You must be new here, because i've never seen you before. What's your name?"

Penny was a school-aged filly with yellow coat, light-blue mane and green eyes. She was a unicorn, and had no cutie mark. She lived in the tiny town, in a motel room. She had no parents. The little filly lived alone in the motel room. 

 

Penny used her magic to open the door. The view of the lake had forced her to get out of the motel and see it's wonders.

 

As she trotted down the stairs, however, she felt tired. She shrugged the laziness off her shoulders and finally came to the bottom of the stairs to the lobby.

Sunset Sky had been walking for hours on end. She was exhausted. Her wings and legs ached. She hadn't stopped to rest in a long time.  Pretty soon, she was going to have to find a cloud or something. She didn't know how long she could keep walking or flying without passing out.

After a while, her legs felt like they were going to collapse. She lifted herself into the air and looked around for civilization.

i know ponies make me anxious, she thought, but I need somewhere to stay, or at least something to eat...

She continued to look around. It seemed she was in a valley. She noticed a small town and drifted to the ground. Her wings throbbed; she wanted to be close to the ground if they gave out, even if it would save time to just fly high and dive toward the town. 

She made it through the forest and was at te outskirts. It seemed peaceful enough. Her wings now hurt more than her legs, so she switched again, even though her legs still felt like they were about to give out.

It took a few minutes to walk into town, as  she was so exhausted she was dragging her hooves now.

Ember quickly swallowed his mouthful of food, giving another smile.  "Oh, umm, hi.  My name's Ember Sparx.  Is that where I'm at?  Nopony else has bothered to talk to me."  He chuckled and used a hoof to shove out another chair so that Hyper Tumble could join him at the table.  "Nice to meet you."

Hyper sits down at the table next to his new friend. "Nice to meet you, too. I'm really sorry to hear that, by the way. We ponies here try to be as welcoming and hospitable, since Oak Hills doesn't have much else going for it, besides the lake. Speaking of which, what brings you here? Wait, let me guess, the lake, right?"

Ember gets an apprehensive look on his face, reaching up with one hoof to absently rub at his scruffy mane.  "L-L-Lake you say?  Umm, no, that isn't why I'm here...  I actually travel a lot looking for new supplies for my creations...  I make fireworks for a living...  I don't suppose it's possible to umm...  Avoid this lake, is it?"  He laughs nervously as he glances around, as if somehow expecting the lake to have snuck up on him as they spoke.

"I guess. I don't know why you'd WANT to avoid the lake, but to each his own." Hyper orders a glass of water and eggs. He and Ember Sparx talk for a bit until his food arrives. Without realizing it, Hyper hadn't eaten anything all morning. He was famished. He eagerly ate his eggs and gulped his water. When Hyper was done, he remembered he had somewhere to be. "Hey, Ember, I gotta go. You can come with if you like. i'll show you around."

"Oh, sure!  I don't have anywhere to be, I'd appreciate somepony who knows their way around."  He quickly drinks what's left of his juice and leaves a few bits on the table before checking to make sure his saddlebags are securely in place.  "I'm ready to go when you are."

"Okay, let's go." They left the café, and walked down the street, Hyper showing Ember around and introducing him to his friends, and Ember just absorbing all. Suddenly, they found a mare limping along on the sidewalk, looking like she was lucky just to be standing. They trot over to the exausted mare. "Excuse me, ma'am? are you all right?" said Hyper.

Sergeant 16-bit was flying in an area near the town, on his way back home to ponyville. He makes out the figure of a town in the fog. He gently lands to clearly look at the town. feeling fatigued, he decided to stay at the motel, but first he wanted to sample the towns local coffee. There was a problem, however. As soon as he entered the town he uttered the words, "What was I doing again?".

the fog began to slowly lift as the morning progressed, more ponies exited their homes and walked the streets, all of them smiling and talking among them selves

Sarge responded to the pony talking to him "Huh? Oh! Hellooo! I just came back from a comic book convention! And you know what else? I remembered what I was doing! Sooo, any idea of where can I get some coffee?" Sarge said as he raised an eyebrow.

"Oh, well, there is a cafe down the street over there, they sell some some pretty decent coffee, check them out" the mare smiled

 

the sun was risen it was no longer sun rise, the time seemed to be about eight o'clock, a few ponies were walking the streets starting their day

Sarge was a little bit distracted by the sudden change in the environment, particularly the rise of the sun "Huh? Oh right! Down the street, yeah. By the way, is it just me or did time move just a little too fast? I could have sworn it was night time a moment ago."

The mare just went walking on by as if Hyper hadn't even existed. "Okay, that was awkward. Let's just keep moving, shall we?" Hyper and Ember turn around to continue their tour when they see none other than Rapid Twister, Hyper's best friend. Hyper trots over to Rapid Twister to introduce Ember. "Twist, hey! How's it going? Meet my new friend, Ember Sparx. He's just stopping through to collect some fireworks materials."

Afer Repsol fully inspected his room he decided to just go out and see what this town had top offer. He knew that he wasn't going back to his little home in ponyville anytime soon so he would just try to make the best out of it. As he trotted throught the motel it seemed... diffrent. Like the walls had changed somehow. 

Repsol shrugged the thoughts off as he spotted the elderly mare again who owned the place. 

"Thanks again for the room m'am!" Repsol said, giving her a slight bow.

He continued to the exit and could allready see that the small town had become much more alive in the time he spent in the room.

Once he was outside he decided that he needed something to eat, and he went looking for a restaurant or something. After a few minnutes his eyes fell upon a cafe. "Guess it'll have to do..." Repsol muttered under his breath as he changed direction towards the cafe.
