I think the effect turned out to be beneficial, and I personally like it better when there are no numbers on the topic view pages to distract you from the actual purpose of posting - which is to discuss topics, not increment a silly number. So, as of now, the change is permanent. I didn't put too much stock into them to begin with so when they were taken away I hardly noticed. A few did. It's not that I don't want people to know how many posts they've made, but I don't feel the information is important enough to warrant displaying it directly alongside your post. FLARE 952 February 20, 2012 Share February 20, 2012 (edited) Well, I'm perfectly fine with out the post counters, the pip system thing is better, it helps new users know how many posts they have toward a goal (5 for chat 40 for minecraft,unless they have changed), and those are the only legitimate reasons some one should actually care about their post count...In my opinion... The post counters were removed for the sake of minimising the amount of clutter displayed under each individual post, and to minimise the potential for spamming and poor quality posts in order to raise ones visible post count. Some people feel they need to rapidly spit out half-hearted posts to get their postcount high, and having postcount visible promotes the "Oh, he hasn't posted a lot. I'll ignore him." mentality I've seen on a lot of forums.
