Your Opinions of Twilight

Honestly, I really don't like Twilight. I dislike her for the same reason that I dislike Rarity; she's a very complex character. Sometimes I only see what's in front of me, and I form my opinions on that.

Strangely enough, even though Rainbow Dash is my favorite character Twilight Sparkle is the one I most identify with, her being a nerd and at first reluctance to make friends, and her intelligence and organization.

You all know who Twilight is! The new princess! So, what are your opinions of her?

 

Is she best pony? Sorry, but I must disagree. That title belongs to Fluttershy. 

 

Best princess? She's new and I have to give her time before agreeing with a claim like that. For now, that honor is still owned by Celestia.

 

Does she have a good color scheme? Of the Mane 6, Twilight may have the best color scheme. I love her purple coat and the blues, violets, and magentas in her mane and tail.

 

Post your opinions! When I look at Twilight Sparkle, I see one of the finest examples of somebody that shows authority without being an authority (until the end of season 3 anyway). I like how both the story arc and Princess Celestia brought Twilight along, slowly but surely, developing all the attributes one would hope to see in a future ruler. Best of all, Twilight doesn't think of herself as a leader. She's very modest and when she offers guidance to her friends, she does it out of love, not because she's their head honcho.

 

One of my favorite things about Twilight's leadership is her style, especially her knack for helping Fluttershy. The best example of this was in Return to Harmony Part 2 when Fluttershy was on the verge of quitting but Twilight successfully urged her on. She does it again in Hurricane Fluttershy. For the entire episode, Rainbow Dash is unable to coax Flutters to join the tornado team. But Twilight does it by waiting until she is mentally ready to enter the fray before handing her the goggles.

 

While I hate to throw out the term Mary Sue, I sincerely hope Twilight isn't becoming too good too soon. In spite of now being a Princess, she needs to retain some quirks and shortcomings so she'll continue to turn to her friends in times of need. While Twily knows to take a deep breath when confronted with anxiety, I'm sure she'll face challenges in the future that will make her lose her mind no matter how hard she breathes.
