Weirdest thing that inspired you to do something. What was inspired?

For me the weirdest thing I was inspired by was a song. It made me see the world in a different way and to make the best of life so then I started making the best of my life. I decided to make fanfics because i have so many ideas that need to be written and currently getting through high school and getting a masters degree in animation.

It was actually 3 songs: Iridescent and Waiting for the End both by Linkin Park. Best of You by Foo Fighters. I'm in love with those 3 songs.

Music can have a big effect on people!

For me my funny/weirdest was that this runescape botting website was doing a competition, and from the "bonk" videos of making music from the bonk sound in TF2, I was inspired to try my own had at this remixing myself saying "bot" into a tune.

It was very funny, but very awful and I gave up when it was about 30 seconds long ><!

I also made a really bad youtube dota video (after being inspired by music to make some AMV's ect) that turned out really really bad :P!

This is going to sound odd...really odd.

But, watching various animes made me change the way I act in real life, it also helps me come up with new ideas for possible stories.

It has a better effect on me than just entertainment. Plus, usually...the anime is really pleasant to look at and it could cheer me up.

Insperation for me comes in many forms and usually motivates what I will do in regards to my talent in art and animation as well as sometimes story writing.

For me in the career I've been working on and studying on since my highschool years has always been in 2D animation, but what inspired it to come to that occurred in high school and I suppose you could say "weird".

I always loved to draw, I specifically drew characters of creatures that I wanted to be. To be honest I think being a human girl is boring, that reality is boring at times, and that I longed to be something more, I wanted to be magical, or heroic, exotic, elegant and beautiful but in the form of another being, usually things like dragons, ponies, unicorns, or animalistic creatures from androids to cyborgs and robots or mutants. That said I would draw these characters and create my own imaginary world around my designs and go to that place during class time when it was boring as hell...

But in my junior year of high school, a class opprotunity for an elective became avaliable called media arts. A classmate told me about it and since she saw my artwork and that it was all consistent of characters she told me I should look into it as thats what she was doing, she being into the anime animation styles. Not thinking much of how animation was done, but it being in the arts I decided to join her in the class and I was introduced to programs like Flash, and Dream Weaver as well as 3D programs. But the one program that gave me insperation on what I wanted to do for the rest of my life, was Adobe Flash. I didnt think I would ever have the patience to be a 2D animator after seeing how they did it in the old days, but when Flash gave me a glimpse on so many different ways animation can be created...it gave me the window and motivation of bringing my characters to life on the screen.

Adobe Flash was what inspired me or pushed me to become a 2D Animator.

People's signatures here on these forums have inspired me to start making my own. I don't know why but seeing what people can do with programs like Paint.net and Photoshop is really awesome!

Fallout: Equestria inspired my entire career path. It's the reason why I want to write professionally, it's what made me start writing a novel of my own, it's why I consider storytelling to be the highest of all art forms.

I know it sounds like an odd reason, but that's the thread title, ain't it? :P The point is that it took my natural interest in storytelling and turned it into an obsession. Now, I spend pretty much 24/7 thinking about nothing but stories and storytelling. It's a field that I love so much that I want to do it for a living.

weirdest thing that ever inspired me to do something was a potted plant to the head.

it was a pretty small pot tough, but once it hit me it still left a rather large gap in the back of my head. anyway, it ispired me to write the fanfiction "honor" wich i am currently writing. :P

a Weird Friend of mine. xD
I'm joking, but really? Reading a Book, Tomorrow, When the War began Actually.

Just to see that there's more to everything then you may think, it can go from something, to another so quickly, also showed you past the illusion of always being safe.

Actually, the brony community itself just over a year ago inspired me and is the very reason Twilight Circuits was born. More interestingly is the question; what happens when you spend a good portion of a year behind a computer? Cause, I was just minding my own business when *poof* I found myself here on this forum.

Let's see... it was about 7 months after I tutored my crush in chemistry. At that time, I didn't really have a crush on her. It wasn't until I remembered the fact that she gave me a pack chocolate candies and a warm thank you note after I finished tutoring her. I felt terrible about not doing something to show my gratitude for the gift, especially since I realized this fact many months later. That's how I eventually decided to start being friends with her in hopes of starting a relationship with her. It accumulated into a Valentine's Day card and a good luck card for her exams. She's such a cute girl

The brony fandom obviously, before I was a brony I would go through my day not really doing anything special. But the fandom inspired me to be more outgoing, friendly, accepting, creative and I could go on for a while. Basically, I have always considered myself a nice person and have often been taken advantage of for that. While, in the fandom most are nice and you can be nice to people without being considered weird, so I have started to become even nicer. Because it inspired me to be more social too, I have started to become more social. It inspired me to start creating stuff, to draw and even made me want to try making music. It has inspired me to do a lot of stuff and I would think it's the weirdest thing that has inspired me to do so much.

A long while back, I started making Garry's Mod videos, but eventually gave it up because I felt I needed to concentrate fully on schoolwork - not that I was doing badly, but I just got stressed out trying to manage multiple projects at once, and letting one fall behind. It was this show that finally inspired me back to doing something interesting, even though I wasn't always making videos about horses.

The first video I put up for my return to machinima was "Scout Looks Guilt in the Eye". As you might know, 'Scout' refers to the Team Fortress 2 character. Both TF2 and MLP, to me, seem to be filled with zany character types that make for all sorts of great fan creations.

I was in a very depressing mood yesterday and after listening to Bullet by Hollywood Undead I decided to learn the lyrics and chords.

For an older example, playing Star Fox, Smash Bros., Final Fantasy and Mega Man back in high school inspired me to delve into the world of making OCs and writing stories around them. I eventually churned out a 200+ page book (that I cringe when reading nowadays) as a result. Supplementary to this, I quite often listened to video game music as I'd write, which acted as further inspiration.

More recent example - I'd say FiM and its surrounding fandom in general have inspired me to expand upon the world of MLP through drawings and pondering scenarios for (as of yet unwritten) fanfics. It's also inspired some song ideas as well, but when I think of doing something that takes THAT much work and won't really benefit my actual band in any way, my laziness gets the better of me.

I'm sure there're even stranger examples I can come up with, but that's all I've got for now.

This might sound odd, but it inspires me to do better....

My entire family and uncles are all morons, I am nothing like them in any sort of way, sometimes I wonder how I relate to them, but they inspire me to do better, as to never become like them, stupid, lazy, jobless, pregnant, or bankrupt.......

pokey_pie_by_anarchemitis-d6k7jnj.png

This image exists because I was bumbling about on tumblr, and it was somehow bothering me that I couldn't find any pictures of Pinkie Pie relating to shipping that I liked. So I decided to make my own. And that's how the most popular image of Pokey Pierce came to be.

Weirdest thing I was inspired by was MLP. I can't deny that at all, it was pretty weird. It inspired me to start writing, which is something I have never thought of doing before in my life. The characters, their personalities, the many scenarios that were possible, and the potential for amazing story telling was all there. All that was needed was a person with ideas to write them.
