Kids are usually like this when they are that young. If you don't buy them something that they want, they "hate" you. In reality, it's just a trick they use so that the parents feel guilty and buy them something. Don't let kids fool you. They are crafty.

I love how she's holding a dinosaur, wanting ponies.  Practical logic at such a young age too.   Kids say the darndest things I swear!
