Does anyone like to read canon defilement stories?

Does anyone like to read canon defilement fan fictions? Where things are different in huge ways than the show itself?

 

I like those as long as it's explained how they became evil or whatever.

 

As like a universe where Alicorn Twilight Sparkle was corrupted by King Sombra's dark magic and became an evil queen and ruled over all of Equestria with an iron hoof.  

 

Or a universe where the mane six down right evil things such as murder and stuff, but it turns out they were under mind control. 

 

As it goes without saying, if it's written well.

Not really, unless it's a parody fic using it for humor, I don't really like things that severely butcher the characterization(with one exeception that I find a guilty pleasure just due to how unbelievably good the writing is)

I love them, although it depends on the writing. It has to have good writing obviously. Canon defilement stories are actually some of my favorite type of fanfic.

Okay, I seriously would read a story like that. I always thought that kind of story would be awesome. Maybe have King Sombra take control of Twilight. Like, using her body as a host and the others don't want to do anything in fear that they might hurt Twilight. Meanwhile, she is spreading chaos and darkness. That would be cool.

 

Back on topic, I like those kinds of stories as well. Fun to read.

Well, I guess it just depends on the fic itself. Like for example if one of the characters are acting out of character then no unless theres a good reason for them being out of character. If its a fic, say, where one of the characters are corrupted or something then sure I'll read it unless its badly written or/and is too dark.

 

In my mind it doesn't bother me, depending on the fic, whether its far from canon or not. If its a good story and makes sense, but doesn't agree with canon then I don't care.

 

So yeah, in conclusion, depending on the fic, I'll read it.

That depends on the story in question and how the concept in it is presented, presenting alternate universe what if's can be interesting if done right. But even in those cases in order to work there still needs to be at least some basis in cannon even if it is small it needs to at least be enough to be believable unless you are talking about a parody which can be a bit tricky to pull off. I have one idea for a story where Twilight starts using a money duplication spell, everypony eventually finds out and because it is such an easy to use spell all the unicorns are using it and they use to such and extent that it devalues the currency to the point of causing a hyperflation crisis in Equestria. All the ponies are still in character but the situation itself while it is not a clop or gore fic is still unlikely to be an episode and therefore not cannon simply because of its political message and the fact that it is so over the top.

I never got a chance to read the stories but, I don't mind reading any stories where a villain controls one of the Mane 6. I need to find those stories.

This immediately makes me think of FoE and Project Horizons. You also say that things get explained. I personally consider that 'canon extension' rather than defilement. That's right: I consider FoE and PH to be the canon future of Equestria. Sorry!

 

So yes, I do enjoy that. Anthropology and Project Sunflower were great, because they're drastically different, but there's a logical (or at least, acceptable) reason why and they tie in to the canon.

 

Oh, and yes I really need to read some new fics

If it's done good enough than I don't mind it as much, but I always ALWAYS feel a deep annoyance when I'm reading that makes me want to punch something. Usually that goes away a good 5 chapters in though.

I like stories involving the Mane6's male counterparts. I've also read that one about Twilight becoming the Red Queen. kinda liked the other alt end to it where its all just a pny version of D&D there all playing.
