... Yeah this is why I always have multiple character in RPGs, gotta try all the classes! lol

You too?

It still says "Searching", implying that the roleplay is not ready yet. And there's no harm in asking.

Also, I think there is some justification for the helicopter here, though I would expect them to be small and less complex than the one shown. I doubt they still have metal clad helicopters, but they do have the first generation ones. Pinkie Pie flies one, in fact, generating energy through pedaling. Replace it with an relatively strong electrical motor and you get your "modern" helicopter.

Of course, I don't think it'll ever be used in battle. It leaves the pilot completely defenseless and is therefore impractical for combat. Most likely it'll be used for cargo transport, but the airship would be better for this.

For aerial combat, I believe airships would most likely be used. And yes, they're canon. Large airships are effective in bomb dropping or shooting from the sky. Not only that, but they're durable, though in a reverses way; cannonballs, arrows, and other projectiles can't damage the airship because of it's massive size. Possibly their only weakness is incendiary spells - though even that takes time to burn the fabric and do actual damage. And it can be countered with fireproof protection. However, it is slow and expensive to make.

Tanks are plausible, though I don't like seeing them in a warfare RP. But if we're following Yorick's fanon here, it would most likely be a mobile "bunker". The controls would be different from ours, maybe using levers and switches suited for pony use.

Honestly, I approve of a lot of this when you put it this way.

Does Equestria have electricity and motors and stuff at this point in its history? Well, they must if they have trains and hydroelectric dams, but I'm not sure that any motor the ponies might have would be small enough to power a helicopter without weighing it down. Maybe an airship, like the Hindenburg. Which would be very expensive to make.

Have any of you guys seen Avatar; The Last Airbender? Remember the Fire Nation's War Balloons? I could see something like that being used. It wouldn't be hard to manipulate flames for unicorns, earth ponies could use a kind of specialized oven that Apple Bloom might engineer, and pegasi would have no need.

I don't personally care much for the idea of pony tanks, but I recognize that they're probably there. Not sure how they'd be used if they're basically bunkers. Depends what we decide to do with guns, I guess.

You personally. If I wanted to know, I could just go to your OC pages to find out. And by "perfectly tailored to Whitegold" do you mean your class or my question? If it's my question, then it's unintentional. I know Whitegold looks at everyone for their skills and talents and what they can offer as opposed to what their race or beliefs are, but as an RPG type class, I see them focused on tricks, illusions, and defense with equipment that can be quite costly in terms of money.

I meant my class. xD I know Whitegold uses anything and everything, but they're rather fond of espionage, bribery, and magical trickery, aren't they?

I have to comment, this is one of the most exceptional RPs I have ever seen. It's rather rare to see a warfare RP do something innovative and informative; most warfare RPs I have seen are too cliche, such as changeling/pony war or griffon/pony war or Solar/Lunar war. It kind of tells us that it isn't always someone else that's the antagonist, but your own populace instead.

Plus, most people here seemed to have done their research.

They also harbor an affinity toward the art of playing both the seductress and the puppetmaster. After all, one strategy can involve losing a couple of Juggernauts to some Gem Golems because they tried to get to that hot, tasty Sapphire Siren and her alluring voice. Plus, there's pulling strings and getting two Houses to kill eachother as they sit back, enjoy the show, and laugh about it later at that adults-only place in the District of Delights.

If you're sensitive about the kind of not-for-kids stuff in the world, you probably don't want to hear my interpretation of that specific district...

This wouldn't be possible without the extensive and impressive situation Yorick invented. Heck, the first time we did this RP we decided that Yorick hadn't done enough, and invented more. We gave Whitegold Gem Golems, we gave Everfree Ents. We established a precise timeline so we knew exactly how much time had passed between the Celestial Sisters' Disappearance, Twilight's alicorn transformation attempts and the Flooding of Ponyville, so people planning to enter the RP could accurately judge what happened when, to account into their bios. We innovated, we researched, we made it a success.

That's what I love about some RPs, especially ones like this. They encourage you to get out there and think, imagine, wonder, and learn. RPs are a group effort. They have to be trips we all take together. Which means we all need to pitch in to make it work.

And cliches are almost never fun to partake in.

Hahaha! I think I can imagine what goes on that District hehe. And I'll say this, Dorado is going to be spending a lot of time there haha!

Actually there were Gem Golems and Ents, we just expanded on those ideas. But I do agree with you.

That's not entirely true. A parody can turn a tired cliche into a great joke, or a good story can toy around with an established cliche.

I did use the world "almost". There have been some cliches that I particularly enjoyed. One that was basically a Titanic remake, in the fact that it was a romantic cruise with a ship that sank, and the RP turned into Lost at that point. That's one that certainly comes to mind as being awesome. I didn't say they were all bad.

I had actually made a similar RP to this once; even the timelines are similar, but everything else was different.

It was also 15 years into the future, only less dystopian. Everyone goes on with their life, Equestria becomes a large world power (equivalent to the size of the European Union itself), and it's basically stable. The ponies eventually become patriotic and proud of their exceedingly powerful nation that you basically see them hang the Equestrian flag in their homes and nearly every other facility in Equestria.

But eight years before that event, the Empire showed signs of "tyranny", at least, to some of the population. They passed laws that some of them disliked; which ranged from an Mutiny and Espionage Act to the 1155 Land Ordinance (which was an Empire attempt to organize land between the natives and settlers), to the suppression of the Hoofington Riots.

Eventually, some of the ponies formed the Caballus Federation, along with their own Blue Liberation Army, and seceded - which lead to serious tensions and the declaration of war.

I kind of referenced it off the English Civil War (the way they opposed the Empire), the English Civil War (secession and belief of regional rights), and the Russian Civil War (the "total equality" purpose they're fighting for and the army's name itself).

Sadly, the whole roleplay went underway. Which is why I kind of quit creating roleplays.

Oh. My bad. How did a remake of Titanic become Lost? I haven't watched Lost, but my basic understanding is that it is very different from Titanic.

The tropical cruise ship wrecked. The ship had had a romantic theme. The ponies on board who made it to the evacuation - those who people were RPing as, in other words - landed on a mostly deserted island. There was lots of jungle, a small zebra tribe, and an active volcano.

Makes sense. Sounds like fun, too.

So I was writing the backstory for my OC and was thinking of including something about Blueblood as he is one of my favorite characters (Fandom, not show.). I then looked at pooryoricks' DA page. I didn't see anything so I was wondering if y'all had decided his fate?

sorry but Rarity killed him read this http://pooryorickda.deviantart.com/art/Equestria-Divided-House-Whitegold-305936822 .

Ah yes, Blueblood. My late husband. Such shame he was not able to live longer to lead House Whitegold with me... *has my hand over my face dramatically* Oh, if only the culprit was caught, I would've dealt cold, swift justice to them for their crime!

Rarity, would you kindly leave and refrain yourself from hijacking my computer? Thank you.

I got this idea from a fan comic, but perhaps instead of having The former CMC not like each other, perhaps we should do the opposite this time. Like they are still friends and want to see each other, but can't cuz of their factions. Sorta like Romeo and Juliet but without all the mushy love and the death by irony.

Though it might be a bit annoying to restate this again, but it's a bit strange that all houses haven't made any bigger and completely influential breakthroughs, though they most likely have the technology to do so, and the answer should have been relatively simple. And they should be greatly motivated due to the rising tensions of the houses and unofficial warfare.

Like, they have flamethrowers, repeater cannons, rocket missiles, and freaking airships, but it apparently didn't occur to them to make other things practical. It's strange they don't have repeater crossbows (which should be easy for their time since it's been here for more than a thousand years) and haven't made many portable ranged weaponry, let alone far ranged. Either some houses are incredibly stupid for not coming up with better weapons or they're just limited to certain knowledge i.e unicorns to magic, pegasi to aerial combat, and earth ponies to ground and water.

Maybe if the three species worked together, they would have better military technology?

Yoorik was the one who designed the troops. Not us. We aren't really sure why they are lacking in some areas of tech, yet they also have gunpowder.  I guess they developed gunpowder early and had no use for bows.

If that was the case, Whitegold would outmatch everypony in terms of military technology and so would Everfree and the Cult.

A little off-topic, but you can pretty much sort the Houses into two categories: Racial Supremacists(Category A ) and Co-op(Category B). M&S, Earthborn, and Stormwing would go into Category A because their goals are pretty much centered around proving that their race is the best. The other three would be in Category B because they have goals to accomplish and they're trying to get anypony they can to reach said goals.

@@AnonBrony,

I would totally love that! Maybe at some point, they can side themselves with the Guardians!

I'm not entirely sure that Earthborn counts for A, cause they don't really discriminate against pegisi. They are more like unicorn haters.

Which is somewhat justifiable due to seeing the ill treatment of their species from their most possibly most hated House Moon and Star, which are deeply...religious, in some way. Whitegold is more free, though their economy is corrupted toward a number of ponies.

But then they were caused by other reasons. Moon and Star was because some of the unicorns want to desperately cling to the thought that the Princesses are not gone and worship them as gods, while Whitegold was kind of caused by power control.

And yes, the Earthborn actually tolerates pegasi. Lightning Dust and several other pegasi troops decided to support Earthborn over Stormwing, which gained them their respect and accepted them into their society, though I would except them to still be a bit anxious and nervous about them.

To be honest, I find Earthborn the least tyrannical.

Yet they are still just as much in the wrong as the other four houses... and they don't even realize it.

------------

Okay I should have time today to look over characters, though I've seen Anonbrony has already looked over most of them and has given his own vote of approval. I will be keeping that in mind when considering for my own approval, as I trust that he would not approve them unless he felt I would.

Yes cause cutting off the horns of unicorns is totally not tyrannical.

None of them seemed to have many problems or concerns and most of them offer a nice amount of detail. Though I wasn't totally sure on the amount of detail you require but they all seemed to give as much detail as my bios so I approved them. I could of missed something in my haste however...

Also I will make that list of approved bios latter as you requested, keep in mine though there are a number of player who still need to submit one.

Might just be me being bloodthirsty as per usual, but I think that's a bad idea. Scholar's already said that it's unlikely any of the Houses will win over the others, and that even if they do we all die anyway, and I don't know about you but I'd like to keep this RP reasonably dark and grim since that's what it was meant for.

Besides, Applejack's already accidentally (and that is meant in a completely un-sarcastic way) conditioned Applebloom to hate the other Houses, at least in my rendition of Earthborn.

Yet they are still just as much in the wrong as the other four houses... and they don't even realize it.

Why does there seem to be a constant thing in this thread of it being wrong to fight for something you believe in? Is it just me that thinks that sometimes fighting is necessary or that someone can use violence to further a worthy cause? Has anyone considered that about 5/6 of the Houses are merely acting in reaction to Moon & Star's establishment of dictatorship over Equestria?

Yes cause cutting off the horns of unicorns is totally not tyrannical.

But it doesn't reach the level of Moon & Star where you basically have the Thought Police watching your every move and anyone non-unicorn is enslaved.

"Humanity is the end; knowledge is the means; I will not rest until there are no more secrets to be discovered; I will not rest until there are no more ways to improve; I will not rest until there are no more problems to be solved; I will wield no weapon but my wits and intellect; With these weapons I will battle ignorance until the light of knowledge shines bright; When the light of knowledge shines upon us all, then I shall rest, and not before." - Atmomancer Creed
