"My name is Willow. What's--" Willow was startled by the abrupt entrance of her brother. "Orion! What was that for?!" Willow shouted at her brother. She knew that Orion was just trying to protect her, but she thought of something. Orion has barely ever allowed her a chance to make friends or trusted anypony that she even talked to. He never let her go out on her own, or even go to buy food from the market. She always thought that it was only for her own good, but this?

"What a freak." Blast couldn't trust that alicorn out there on his own. The Litany obviously gave the alicorn stronger powers. Powers he couldn't control on his own. Blast walked beside Aphrodite back to the camp.

"Hey, uh, sorry for darting away for the camp like that. I tend to do stuff like that." He said to the mare. "One moment, I'm at one place. The next moment, I'm at another. That's just life for me."

Steel checked the blade "the fire isn't hot enough"steel muttered he pulled out his flask and poured some of it's contents into the fire,it flashed bright and hot. Steel chuckled the pours some more and the fire reacted the same way he checked the blade again "almost"he repeated thus process two more times before he ran out of alcohol in his flask

Chivalry was walking until he saw Blast. 'There he is.' Chivalry trotted up to Blast quickly. "Blast! we need to-" Chivalry saw Blasts wound. "Whoa, what in the hoof happened to you?" Chivalry was concerned for Blast. 'Did he already battle that Alicorn pony?' Chivalry thought to himself.

"Ouch. That really hurt!" Red said indignantly. "Kindly refrain from..."

 

The sound of more impacts nearby were enough to silence him, he rolled into the undergrowth to preserve himself.

 

'Whats got him so worked up?' He thought.

 

"Seconds after I spare them, two more come to try and hunt us down! They can't be trusted!" Orion explained. "You can't trust them Willow, they just want to use you to get to me..."

 

He blinked: the glow from his eyes dulled, but didn't fade.

 

Meanwhile, Red took the opportunity to find his hooves again: he wasn't here to deal with this: he was here to secure the litany. He slipped away back towards camp.

"You know what, I don't know, Aphrodite. He seemed to have been snooping around the camp, so I chased them down to see if they needed help." Blast said to her. He was so busy trying to make him see reason, he didn't even bother to ask for his name. "All I know is that he was the one who read the first half of that Litany. It must've gave him stronger abilities and powers. He obviously doesn't know how to use them correctly, and it's likely he's going to get himself and his sister into some trouble he won't be able to get them out of." He said in a worried tone. "I won't allow that to happen."

 

Blast and Aphrodite were stopped in their tracks when Chivalry ran up to them. He heard him as about his wound.

"Nah, just a flesh wound. I've dealt with worse." He said. "I met up with that alicorn and we nearly tried to kill each other."

Pavisa sighed and rolled her eyes.  "Sheesh, it's a scratch.  Not a broken leg."  She smirked at Crimson before continuing.  "I'll get it cleaned before I go to bed, don't worry.  For now I'm just more concerned about the others...  Silver Heart is still out cold.  Midnight was looking her over."  

 

The mare shook her head in agitation.  She was blaming herself as much as Chivalry for the medical pony getting hurt - Silver Heart had followed her out there, and she hadn't been able to protect her like she had promised.

"But... I only wanted what was best for you..." Orion mumbled sullenly - bowing his head to the younger mare. Even with the knowledge of the universe at his command he couldn't help but feel humbled before her. "I did this so that we could be free, I never wanted to hurt you!"

"I meant up there!" The mare retorted, rapping a hoof against the guards head. "No sense o' self preservation! Wanna know a tip to stayin' alive? Move away from things that want t' hurt you."

 

She sighed, trying to sound annoyed instead of approving: It was surprisingly difficult.

 

"Stupid. noble sure, but stupid. Ya' sure your a guard? Never seen one, y'know guard anypony before."

Pavisa flinched as the other mare bonked the hoof against her head, feeling like she was about to get a scolding.  She sat down in the grass as Kingfisher continued, flicking her ear at the comment about the guards.  "...Why do you and the captain have issue with the guard?"  She looked back at Kingfisher as she asked the question.  

 

"I got the impression the captain wasn't too thrilled to see me walk up to him when we left this morning, and now this...  I mean, sure, it's full of idiots who aren't good for much other than standing around in their armor looking tough, but the ideals we stand for are good, right?  We're supposed to protect other ponies."

 

The guardpony was genuinely curious as she asked, the anger from a short while ago now gone from her voice.  She may have been a fairly recent addition to the guard, but the reactions like she had gotten from Redwave and Kingfisher weren't at all what she had imagined she would receive out of training.  Since I was little I wanted to protect ponies worse off than me...  Can I expect this kind of reaction throughout Equestria?  Is there something I'm not seeing?

Crimson chuckled and shook his head, "I think you misunderstand them, being wanted criminals, they probably just aren't used to being friends with guard ponies or other authority figures. I mean, look at me, I'm a pirate, yet I'm a good friend of Twilight, Celestia and Luna, hell! Even my brothers are both guards! One is celestia's royal knight and the other is Luna's royal assassin! Yet you don't see me giving you dirty looks, actually, I like strong and tough mares, who can actually take care of themselves" Said Crimson with a smile and a wink.

Muttering under her breath and rolling her eyes at the pirates comment Kingfisher turned her gaze back to Pavisa.

"I've got my reasons okay? If they were all like you, maybe I wouldn't but that's not the case!"

Accent slipping with bottled up anger, she quickly corrected her speech, mentally scolding herself - it was too easy to break character when Red wasn't around.

"As fer' Red? I dunno, don't like their attitude I guess."

Staggering sideways slightly, Redwave stumbled back into the light of the fire with an irritated scowl. The force of the impact had been enough to easily wind him and throw him through the air: the landing just added insult to injury.

"At the risk of asking a redundant question..." He declared loudly in way of a greeting. "I assume it is because of you that I have had a most foul tempered demi-god assault me?"

 

He sat down and finally had chance to tend his wounds in the form of uncorking the bottle at his side.

 

"May I receive warning of some kind, the next time we fall foul of enemies capable of rending time and space itself? Some foresight would have been appreciated before..." He probably shouldn't mention the mare. "... before it attempts to remove me from existence, yes?"

Chivalry stared at Blast for a second and sighed. "I see, than in this case... I'm going after him, he must be stopped. Aphrodite, please take Blast back to camp to heal from his wounds. And not one of you tell the others what I'm doing, yeah?" After that, Chivalry started to walk past Blast and Aphrodite. 'He's a threat to everypony, if he isn't not stopped before he learns how to control his power, then were all doomed.' Chivalry thought to himself.

Blast shook his head and looked at Aphrodite.

"I'm going with him despite my wounds. You can go back to camp, Aphrodite. I'm going with Chivalry to give this alicorn what for." Blast jetted off after Chivalry and left Aphrodite to go back. Within a split second, he was running beside Chivalry at a moderate speed. "Fighting this guy without me? No way!" He said in a cocky tone. "A flesh wound has never stopped me, and it sure won't stop me now!"

Chivalry looked at Blast, surprised. "What? No you can't. Just look at yourself, you need to rest. With a wound like this during battle, you might... Die." Chivalry was very worried for Blast, it seemed like he was the only one who actually got along with Chivalry on this whole expedition. "I'm sorry, but you have to go back with Aphrodite."

The first sense to come back to Silver Heart was her hearing, the sounds of the forest, the different ponies talking and the general ambiance of the camp blended together into a terrible cacophony that was synchronous with the pain she now felt. Her eyesight was the next to return, after opening her eyes only darkness greeted her. Silver felt her heartbeat increase. Her first reaction was to wonder why she couldn't see anything. What happened to me? Her confusion rapidly devolved into panic as she recalled Orion's lightning strike. Obviously she was alive but this revelation did little to calm her as her mind was bombarded by questions she couldn't answer. D-did the lightning blind me? What happened to the others? Is Pavisa alright? Before the mare could act upon her fears, the edges of her vision began to clear. Everything was blurry but the darkness that initially dominated her vision began to recede. 

 

Even though it wasn't much the return of her eyesight calmed her enough to begin thinking rationally. Oh thank the stars...everything will be fine...maybe. Try to check the damage.... Her legs were too numb to move but she could feel a dull pain in her chest and a sharper pain from her left shoulder. Her vision had mostly cleared up, she thought she could make out a pony next to her but she wasn't sure. "H-hello?" she whispered weakly.

Blast just simply smirked at Chivalry and shook his head.

"No way, man. I'm not missing the chance to give this guy a piece of my mind." He said. "Did you see how I took that thunderbolt to the chest? I pretty much just laughed that off. Plus, I'm not afraid of death at this point. I've been put in many life-threatening situations throughout my adventuring days. Besides, it's just a flesh wound. I've been shot at, stabbed, slashed at, set on fire, frozen, and shocked, and I'm still here."

The first thing Saronyx had experienced, was noise. And not the usual noise of the surrounding area, but noise he recognized as conflict, and the voices of other ponies. Of course, it wasn't uncommon for other ponies to be out and about in this area, at least in most realities, but this time of night there only tended to be certain types. And they weren't always to kind, "Good I came out of that when I did, I suppose." He thought to himself, standing from his laying position

 

The Crystal stallion stretched his sleeping limbs, and took a few steps to get the blood flowing into them. One downside of Rift Watching was it rendered you motionless, and extended observation periods caused one's limbs to fall asleep. He chuckled dryly as he awaited the multitude of pinprick tingling to leave his limbs, "I've seen so many different realities, but never one quite so... curious, as that one. I've seen realities where I'm a Pegasus, and realities where I possessed this very ability, but never one where I was a mare."

 

He stretches once more before leaning down to pick up his saddlebags, and places them over his haunches, "And especially never have I been a mare that actually spotted me before. That was a peculiar conversation, that's for certain."

 

The Visionary as speaking aloud and to himself, but he didn't mind. It helped him think and retain the memories of his Rift Watching. Plus, you never really know when you yourself are being observed. Many would quell and become worried and paranoid with such a thought, but Saronyx was at terms with it. He observed the lives of many in that past, so should he be observed himself, well, so be it.

 

The Crystal stallion allowed himself a brief second to consider investing in a pet. He'd seen one version of himself that was accompanied by a dog that would watch him and break him from his trance should the need arise. Saron decided that should he ever have a chance to acquire such a companion, he'd go for a raven. Intelligent, and with a brazen call. Saronyx shook his head. There was a task now that needed to be dealt with. Investigate the source of the racket. 

 

Taking a second to acquire the direction from which the voices had been coming, he set off at a leisurely trot, in no great hurry to find out who it was. It was several minutes before he found the source. Partway there, he'd spotted the glow of a fire through the trees, and figured that was it. Now he was but a few feet away, and, sure enough, there was a multitude of individuals standing, or lying, about a fire. A decent number seemed injured in some way, both serious and minor, and at least one was rather irritated about something, judging by his tone. 

 

What he said, caught the Visionary's ear. 'Demi-god', and 'able to rend time and space' stood out the most, "Litany...?" It was far fetched, and as far as Saronyx was concerned, didn't exist here. But, he'd been wrong about things before. He stepped into the ring of light, only a few feet from the red maned, white Earth stallion that was lamenting nearly being killed, "Well, doesn't this seem to be a merry little gathering?"

 

There were certainly better ways to introduce yourself, and sarcastic quips weren't a usual part of Saronyx's repertoire, but spending a few hours talking with another version of yourself that was almost always sarcastic, kind of influenced behavior for a short time. Without giving much room for answer to his first statement, Saronyx continued, asking what was forefront in his mind, watching the light from the fire reflecting from his crystal-like coat, "What exactly did you mean by, 'demi-god', if you don't mind my asking?"

Steel nodded "I don't think I know him but Im not sure" steel said as he took out a bottle of spiced rum and to took a drink he thought about checking the blade he left in his for but decided to stay and at least try to make friends in the group -i think that there ponies will be facing a lot of hostiles so I'll get to fight so I'll stay -steel thought

Midnight nearly teleported out of his armor when he heard a quiet voice near him. Looking over at Silver Heart, he realized that she was breathing more heavily, not in the slow rhythm of sleep. 'Great Celestia! She's conscious!' Midnight thought excitedly as he stepped nearer to Silver Heart. "Welcome back, Silver Heart. You were out cold for awhile, but I did what I could to fix you up. Oh, and the name is Midnight Sky, I'm also on the expedition for the Litany. And you should know, Pavisa is fine, from what I hear she shielded you from the worst of the alicorn's attacks while her armor kept her from getting too badly injured. Are you all right? Is there anything you need?" Midnight asked eagerly, he had never actually treated a pony who had been struck by magical lightning before, so he figured if something was wrong the trained medic would probably have a better idea if something was wrong. Midnight just hoped he didn't overwhelm her with all this information, who knows how stable a state she's in after what she went through.
