The school system in southern california is great but it seems this state filled with most aggressive Christians.

Of course, most Christians hate bronies especially the most aggressive ones.

I could see socal being dif.. I saw a report on it at one point, something about a town out there that wanted to ban McDonalds for multiple reasons, one being something about it being the devils draw...

But he probably wouldn't. Because killing is a crime, and people who want to live a casual life won't do that.

Convert him into a brony obviously! All must be converted! Of course, this would involve many brohoofs and hugging, so I guess the last one applies too. Although it seems that his opinion would be impossible to change, these pastel ponies are simply irresistible!

While I would LOVE SO MUCH for every pony to change that would be hard. He should try and have them both embrace difference. Also when bronies are just on and on and on (run on sentence intended) about the show we can cause some hate.

I don't get that tbh. Why is it that in the US, there are Christians who hate bronies? The two appear to be entirely unrelated and if it has anything to do with magic, that's pretty backwards. Here in Europe, I've not met a single person hating on bronies. I was even walking around in my hometown (a small town in Sicily where the vast majority of people are raised Catholic) with a Rainbow Dash T-shirt and no one gave me any weird looks.

 

As for how I'd deal with it, I'd try and reason it with him as to why he feels so strongly anti-brony. Admittedly there are those who are nigh impossible to convince them their way is wrong and harmful but it's always worth a try.

It is kinda sad when people start saying they want to kill people just because they enjoy something they don't. Pretty sure alot of them don't even realise how hollow and pathetic they sound when they try and justify saying such things.

I do not personally know any Christians, Catholic, Orthodox, or Protestant, who hate bronies. At worst they think that bronies are weird but that opinion has very little or nothing to do with their Christianity.

 

Someone explained this earlier - it has less to do with their religion and more to do with fundamentalism, which is popular in the United States. What little I know of fundamentalism has to do with the fact that they are very stubborn in their beliefs, to the point where they will say things about other beliefs (Catholicism as an example) in a negative light and skew those beliefs to fit their own opinions. For example, some of them might say, "Catholics are pagan because they worship Mary!" Well, no, we do not worship Mary in the modern sense of the word, but it is hard to debate with someone about that on the Internet. I wouldn't know from experience in person, though. There aren't too many fundamentalists in Michigan (where I am from) that I am aware of.

 

Fundamentalists are usually (or always) Protestant Christians. But not all protestants are fundamentalists. Some are "mainline," some are evangelical, some are nondenominational, and I am sure that there are more labels than that. No protestant is required to be fundamentalist in order to have protestant beliefs.

 

Fundamentalism is a purely American sect of belief. I could never imagine it in a place like Europe, either.

 

Honestly though, I did not expect to hear about fundamentalism in SoCal... when I think of SoCal I think of Mexican Catholics, lol. But I am sure that there are way more religious beliefs around the area than Mexican Catholicism.

Honestly, if a person was that narrow-minded, I wouldn't be friends with them in the first place. Bronies cause no harm, and do NOT deserve to die.
