I was just about to finish the opening ceremonies, just giving other people time to add their reactions and the "New Avatar" scene before I finished it. But I shall finish it now. From here, you can progress your character as much as you want until the first floor boss scene, which we have to figure out a system of determining when to do boss battles.

Sword Art Online mainly focuses on bladed weapons, especially swords; hence the name. 

 

There are also "Skills" as well, which are special powers given to each person. For the exceptionally best, there's the "Unique Skill".

 

And yes, magic exists in SAO.

Uhh, no. Sword Art Online was a game created without magic. Magic was present in Alfhiem Online, later in the series, but not in Sword Art Online.

The only forms of magic in SAO were the teleport crystals and enchanted weaponry. For this RP though for unicorns they have very short range of telekinesis. This is just so that they may be able to grip things. See exhibit A.

Since Carlton would have his throat slit, logically, someone would have either killed him in PvP dueling or killed outside of city boundaries. Therefore, one person would have an orange marker over a green one.

Oh man, that is a tough one. I'm really into the two-handed long swords, but seeing as how they are really slow would be worthless, unless i can swing it around like it was nothing, but that might be a bit too much. I have an idea to counter it if you approve this thought.

Well if you're sticking to cannon in SAO, in episode 11, Asuna makes mention of Kirito's Strength parameter, stating that it would be easy to lift her with it. So for the beginning, you could start off at a slower speed, but as you gain in levels you can up the speed.
