The number one OTP in existence: GildaShy. Then after that I like SoarinDash, RarityxSpike, and a few others, I have no idea why Im blanking on this right now.

As for NOTPs, main one being any ship involving Trixie. Trixie needs to be burned. Like, set on fire and left to turn to ash. I also dislike FlutterMac, not much of a fan of SoarBurn, hate all shippings involving Blueblood, as I hate Blueblood as well. You know what, drop him onto the bonfire with Trixie, Im sure their ashes would get along well. Flim/Flam with Gilda is a thing for some reason? I don't like that ship at all.

 

EDIT: Oh yeah, I like DiscoPie.

EDIT#2: I cannot stand DiscoShy, and I loathe when people call it cannon.

EDIT#3: One more ship I cannot stand. GildaxSpike. Just, what!? How? Why? Where did this even come from? Who thought it up? How was this ship conceived? There are people who think this ship is better than Sparity? What? No! No! GildaxSpike is a terrible ship! Why would anyone think of such a ship? Why? It pains me to see shipping of Gilda and Spike because it makes absolutely no sense! Like I get physical pain when I see GildaxSpike content. Seriously, you are all complaining about Sparity, well I shall complain about the abomination that is GildaxSpike.

Favorite is Flutterdash. I love Dashie defending and protecting her. It feels so natural.

 

Least favorite would be Rarity and Spike. I think it is funny the way he swoons over her and does her bidding. But, something more serious would be strange.

9 Reasons Why Sparity is awesome:

 

1. Unicorn+dragon is as gloriously nerdy as you can get.
2. Has actual development in the show and the writers are seemingly encouraging it every chance they get.
3. They are my two favorite characters, so there's that.
4. It is adorable.
5. They are hilarious together.
6. They both saved each other from the Dark Side of the Force (if we count the comics as canon, which I am because Dash becomes a pirate and it's amazing).
7. Scruffy dork gets the beautiful uptown girl by being a nice guy = winning.
8. Both struggle with the whole generosity/greed thing and Spike may outlive anyone he romances by several hundred years, so pathos all around.
9. Nice color scheme. Seriously, it works.

I was never really bothered by the age difference because I always assumed this would happen when Spike is older. Plus dragon physiology makes no sense anyway, so easy work around if they decided to go that route, though I'm not sure why they would.

 

Second Best Ship is DoctorxDerpy. I never ship the Doctor with anybody (seeing as how it's never, ever worked out outside of maybe Romana, but even then it was just flirtatious at most), but I really like this one for some reason. They're background characters, so maybe it's cheating when I say I think their personalities fit together, but whatever, it's really cute.

 

 

Plus if they never hook up, Amethyst Star would never be born, and the space-time continuum would burst apart, and then we'd have Emperor Churchill and giant ants in top hats and a bunch of other stuff we don't want.

 

Worst pairing: Hmmmm...I dunno. The only pairings I don't think work are DiscordxAnyone (I can't see it, he's too big a jackass and my instincts tell me he was always like this) and FlutterMac (the only reasoning is that they're both shy, despite the fact that Mac really isn't shy at all).

Iron Giant has to be one of my favorite movies of all time. xD And Dean is my favorite character from said movie. I remember, back when I was just wee lad, they showed a 24 hour marathon of Iron Giant on repeat on Cartoon Network and I watched it every single time. (Well, until I fell asleep that is, I was only like nine years old at the time.)

Spike seems "normal class"

 

Yes, because if it's anything this show about the pervasiveness of friendship has taught us, it's that love is always obstructed by social barriers.

 

Also, Rarity has not once shot down Spike (intentionally) and she actually started humoring his crush more after he confessed his feelings for her. Of course, this is not an all out deceleration of love or anything, but moments like that happen way too frequently to say that the ship is completely out of the blue, especially when the writers also insert little outbursts like this:

Favorite Fanon Shipping :

1st Fluttermac ( Both have cutie marks on nature-y type stuff, because both are shy/quiet/listeners I think they'd actually feel more comfortable around each other because of that. And strong guy with shy girl is cute.)

2nd Flashlight ( yeah I realize flash sentry didn't really get much development but I'm kind of cliche and really like the knight/princess kind of love story. Plus it could probably lead to some funny situations with her brother and such)

I dislike it because it seems to be a trend with a lot of fan groups. Where two characters are very close friends and they get shipped together. Girls tend to act cutesy and silly around each other in other situations could be considered romantic when it's not. (like the trend of some friends calling each other " waifu" ) . Friends can be just friends. Also I thought I saw somewhere like Faust saying that Dash was not a lesbian .

Being a Rarity man, thru and thru, I must say i am becoming a rather large fan of Rarishy. Out of all the characters that could be the "guy" in a relationship with the hyper sensative and submissive Flutters, Rarity would do it the best. The two have a natural bond, and can spend time together that doesnt seem forced like other pairings. More so this new season has expanded alot on how they speak to one another, its just...natural. Rarity is already an animal lover with Opal, and that wins points with the Yellow one. Flutters clearly needs attention, but not the over cowering she would do if with Dash, or the fumbling for words as with Twi. The two have insane chemistry, enough said.

 

Sidebar: I really enjoy Derpy/Dash, they remind me of some college friends (who are now married going on 10 years!) One eye rolling at the others antics, but both with open hearts, one sharp tongued and prideful the other oh so willing to please. lol.

 

Not so Favs:

Ok bring your pitch forks and fire...but I really do not enjoy Octavia/Vinyl...:cringes at the incoming blows:

 

Wait wait! Don't kill me..let me explain!!! I RESPECT how the fans have developed these Background chars, and Yes i have read the University Fanfic on FIM, its BEAUTIFUL! That said...I don't know...I just cant put a hoof on it. You know? Maybe its the fact neither character has even spoken 2 lines of dialogue, or we truely know there ages or even if they are WITH another pony already. We see Bonbon and Lyra together 6 differnt times in the past 3 seasons, we see Doc whooves sitting next to Derpy in the theater (hisssssss), these two couples the fans love so much to do fics of make a teenie tiny bit more sense. But just because two mares are into music seems a bit, eh...farfetched. BUUUUT! Hey to wish on a star right? Still not my fav.

I think Octav3 is because they're both musicians, and with "opposites attract" shippers, it works very well.

 

I agree with everything else though. Although, this one fic I read is so epic, that even lesbian Rarity worked. The writer of Unexpected Confessions is a genius.

My issue with scratchtavia is we know nothing of their characters. I never got shipping when there is nothing to work with. I can see where we're coming from. The closest we have to personalities for them is Scratch' cheeky grin and Octavia has a very dignified composure in her few appearances. So yeah.. I can see where you're coming from. I just like more of a reason to believe they'd be a couple.

Oh my, where should I start? Those two have so much history, and they are amazing together. In fact, they literally grew up together, unlike the rest of mane 6, and I have a strong feeling this shipping could work, very easily. I actually found that I almost wish for it to happen. And if it did, I wouldn't feel surprised. <3

Spike x Rarity

 

Don't get me wrong, I know that Spike is way much younger than her, blah, blah... but they just go together in a way. Plus, unlike most of the others, they are canonish. They both saved each other a few times, and how they talk to each other is way different from how they talk to the others (*cough*Spikey-wikey*cough*). Plus, they are sooo cute.

 

Twilight x Flash Century

 

Yeah, I got into them while watching Equestria Girls, a lot, even though it's weird since I usually don't ship such cliche pairings. Anyway, this showed a lot of potential, and they are just amazing together, since they are both kind of shy and reserved. I so wished to see them again in season 4, but... nah.

 

Cheerlie x Big Mac

 

Yeah, if it weren't for Hearts and Hooves Day, I might not even consider this ship at all. But they are actually very cute together. With Cheerlie being so caring, yet not too shy, and with Mac's shyness, but hard work, they just complete each other. It's hard to explain why, but they just feel natural together. They are awesome ^^

 

My least favorite pairings would be...

 

Applejack x Rainbow Dash

 

Again... where should I start? Those two are both amazing, but they just don't go together. They are too much... the same. Two tomboys are really hard to ship, especially when those two are competitive, stubborn tomboys like these. They would kill each other after two days. Even their friendship has its issues due to it, and they challenge each other too often.

 

Twilight x Celestia

 

Well... they could work, but I just don't feel like shipping students and teachers. It's just too gross, especially considering that Celestia's at least 1000 years older than her very student. Plus, I always tended to see Celestia as rather asexual godlike figure, so... no.

 

Twilight x Spike

 

I hate this pairing most of all probably. I mean, she's like his mother, close friend, everything... but not mate. That would be simply gross.

 

Of course, I also dislike all incest pairings like Celestia x Luna, Applejack x Mac and so on.

 

For other pairings, I am either indifferent or just don't care.

Least favorite? Eh, well there's none that I actively despise.

There's a lot of shipping trends that I don't like that people totally use in the fandom. But they're in EVERY fandom, so I usually just cringe and then ignore it.

Underappreciated

 

DerpyDash, I can actually see this, in The Last Roundup Derpy was trying her best to help Rainbow with the town hall decorations in hope that Rainbow would go out with her or something. How funny would it be if it turned out Rainbow Dash turned out to be Dinky's Dad..or Mom I guess. I mean we've all seen a couple like this in our lives.

 

Flutterpie, this kinda goes back to Twidash in where I can see not only being happy with each other but also learning from each other without totally ruining their characters. Pinkie learning to clam down a little and too think about things more, and Fluttershy becoming more open and not to worry so much (hints Dragonshy)
