Scribbler smiled at Mirror He hadn't expected her to go with him, but he was more than happy about it. "Oh, well, I'm not exactly sure where I need to go to find the things I'm looking for yet. Perhaps if we go where you need to go first, I'll find the things I need around there. Besides, I'm in no hurry, this is leisure time after all." His heart began to flutter for a moment, as he realized this would be the first chance he'd really gotten a chance to speak one on one with Mirror. There was so much he wished to ask this mysterious mare.

"He'll turn up: his type always do..." Orion said - masking his meaning behind a casual tone. Of course Zintiik would turn up: he had been following Willow far too closely for Orion's liking since back in the temple...

Looking back at the other two, he gave a curious look at Mirrors sudden change of tone and desire to be rid of them - but after a second or two he simply shrugged. "Meet us back at the hotel when your done then." He said with a half wave, turning away and looking back to his sister warmly.

 

Trust had let to his downfall before, but it had also given him insight - The ponies with him now had stood by him when they could have left him for dead... and with his recent reassurance that the mare wasn't going to try and hurt Willow or himself, he was content to put any other suspicions out of mind.

"Come on Willow: is there anything you want to do before we head back? Anything at all?" He asked in what he hoped was a friendly tone: he wasn't certain - he had been a terrible brother recently by all accounts and was doing his best with what little time there was in a day... he just hoped that it was enough. "What ever happened to the Aspect-thing... wasn't it following you around?"

Kricket crackled curiously from behind the changing creature - having slipped away to satisfy his intrest in why it was hiding away on its own. 

 

It considered biting the creatures wings: if he had understood the concept of humor, he might have described the reactions such actions received as 'entertaining' after all - he knew the creature wasn't for eating: he just enjoys seeing the responses. He didn't though: he simply hovered along, following closely and watching with interest - curiously stealthy for a bright blue, glowing, elemental aspect of cold...

Pavisa does her best to put on a smile, trying to laugh off the whole situation.  "Hehe, hey, what's so terrible about it?  I wasn't about to let the lot of you go off after the Litany by yourselves...  Somepony has to protect your flanks.  Besides, it was just a job, right?"

 

A job I'd thought I wanted since I was a filly...  But it wasn't like I'd imagined, anyways...  "...I'll be doing more to protect innocent ponies this way than I would be in the Guard on patrol duty.  Though it may be a little tougher for me to pay up from all the bets I keep losing without a paycheck."

 

 She directs her gaze at Kingfisher and grins.  "I wasn't about to let them change me."  She hides a sigh by draining the last of the watered down ale from her mug, leaning back from the table.  She still had a lot on her mind, but she'd said what she had wanted to get out in the open.

Zintiik spared a glance over his shoulder when he thought he heard something behind him, but he didn't catch sight of the aspect following him.  Narrowing his eyes in suspicion he turns back to the direction he had been walking in, starting his slow pace again.

 

He really didn't have a destination in mind - the changeling in the guise of the pegasus was just walking for the sake of moving.  He glanced into windows of shops pretending to be curious, but he wasn't really paying attention to anything he was looking at.  If anything would have caught his attention it wouldn't have really mattered seeing as he didn't have any money to pay for it, though he could always change into a pony that worked at a store and just take something off the shelves...

 

The changeling was still trying to figure out how he could approach the group again, though.  Willow and Orion both seemed upset with him, and he still didn't know Mirror or Scribbler well enough to go to them for help.  He continues to walk while fighting back memories of the day he'd become separated from the Hive, trying not to dwell on how much he disliked being alone.

 

...Maybe if I got them all a present?  Zintiik starts to actually focus on what he can see through the shop windows, realizing he has absolutely no clue what kind of presents a pony would appreciate.  Thinking he heard a familiar sound again he jerks himself around to watch behind him.  Again, nothing, though...  I thought I saw a blue light for a second...

"Oh, you wouldn't believe it friend. Eclipse, you might wanna leave for this, we're gonna talk about a few thin-" Blast was about to finish his sentence, but the unicorn had already vanished. Eclipse was good at leaving areas without making a sound on his way out. Blast sighed and turned back to Frost. "Anyhow, yeah, I was with Kingfisher on an escapade to find an ancient piece of writing known as 'The Litany.' Dangerous, but it was nothing that all of us couldn't handle together."

After leaving the bar, Eclipse followed Pavisa, Aegis, and Kingfisher and listened in on what they were saying. After a short time, he quietly appeared next to them.

"Hey, guys. What are you doing?" Eclipse asked, lifting up his hood.

Mirror smiled back at Scribbler, "Thank you for coming it would be a long and boring walk by myself..." And with a stallion next to her most of the local riff-raff would leave her alone Mirror turned around and started walking towards the noble's district. She slowed only looking back to make sure that Scribbler was following her before resuming her pace. Mirror fell silent, trying to think of something to talk about, for some reason it an oddly difficult task...maybe Scribbler would speak first.

Aegis nodded. He put aside the thoughts of weird weather, crazed demigods and ancient books for now. He was going to enjoy himself with his friends, and support them as best he could. Especially now. "Heh. No kidding? Knew you weren't just some run of the mill goon." It was a weak statement, she knew it was. Still, she had the feeling that both sides were doing the same thing. They both knew that small talk wasn't going to change anything - it just had a way of covering things up until they were easier to deal with. "Well there's always the Dreamer if you're stuck for something to do... 'less you're seasick or somethin'..." She smirked a little more genuinely, jabbing the ex-guard chidingly before looking about at Eclipse.

 

"Oh yeah, look who I found lurkin' outside." She grinned. "Theres Blast about here somewhere too... don't think I've ever seen this place so busy before. Actually... I don't know if I've ever seen anypony else in here at all...." Rubbing a hoof across the poorly-maintained wood that her water was resting on, she held it up, displaying the thick, black smear of dust (and Celestia know what else), almost managing a chuckle. "Yeah, I bring my friends to the nicest places..."

Lost continued to wander around town. She lightly chuckled at the fact that she was, without a doubt, lost. She continued to laugh at being lost. She didn't read it in her book, but she enjoyed this feeling of not knowing where she was going. "Was that why I was here?" It could have been the reason she came to this town, or maybe some other. Who knows? For now Lost Thought was simply enjoying the sights. She came across what seemed like an inn. 

 

It had seemed like such a simply design, but to her it seemed like more. She took a few steps away from it, and stared at it for a second. She hadn't realized it, but she had pulled out her book and started drawing in it.

 

When she looked down, she saw a sketch of the building. All of the entries and access points she could see were labeled, and lots of weird notes and numbers were scribbled down the side. "It's a diagram? No, it's a blueprint." It was roughly drawn but she could tell what it said and meant. She wished that all the blanks she could see in her blueprint were filled in though. "I guess they are places I can't see. Well," she thought, "It's and Inn, I can comeback later; but right now I want to draw some more. This is fun!"

 

She quickly turned to the first few pages in her book and wrote down what she liked to do for fun. Then she continued on, to what looked like a bazaar, so she could continue drawing what ever interested her.

She stopped twice before reaching the bazaar. Drawing only buildings were starting to become boring. So she expanded on her original idea, and started making a map.

Icarus entered the building with Clockwork

 

"I am not one for drinks myself, but they can be interesting for special occasions" He said, scanning the crowd for anyone from the group.

 

Hopefully at least one of them are in here, at least they could possibly point us in the right direction.

 

He walked through the tables and towards the rear of the building, to what seemed to be a bar, so he could get a good look of the area.

Noble Persona

 

Late afternoon. Noble had gone to the Captain's Quarters to think, an endeavour he was not sure if he regretted. He was simply staring into a mirror with a still corked bottle of rum nearby. The look on his face indicated that he was in the middle of a depression, likely caused by his initial actions with the Litany and subsequent breakdown soon after.

 

"I killed pirates and stole a ship just to make myself feel better... so why isn't it working? Is it because I've given myself time to think? It's likely. If I keep doing this, I may as well become a pirate myself. Then I'll have Gwyn plotting retribution and potentially mutiny... No, piracy isn't an option. At least Orion had a goal that- wait, that's it! I've been thinking the same thing. A fairer world, where order and equality are not mere luxuries afforded only to the rich. And I can do it... with this power... I can change the world!"

Pavisa waves a hoof at Eclipse, gesturing for him to join them at the table.  "Hey Eclipse.  Just...  Celebrating my unemployment, heh..."  She really was doing her best to keep a positive spin about everything, at least in front of her friends.  I can mope later, when I'm by myself.  No point dragging the rest of them down.

 

 She laughs at Kingfisher's last comment, prodding the other mare with a hoof.  "Hey, this place is loads better than the last spot we all sat down to have a drink at...  Ya know, we really could've planned that better in hindsight.  Mysterious and dangerous temple probably wasn't the best place to try and get drunk."  She snickers as she says it, just the thought of them sitting in the dark temple passing the bottle of brandy around making her laugh.

Eclipse

Eclipse didn't smile back. In fact, he rarely smiled. He tries his best to keep a look of depression on his face whenever he can. He simply just nodded and walked to the table.

"I never expected any of you to be here. The last time I saw you, you were all on the path of departing. I assumed you left the memory of the Litany behind." Eclipse said, positioning himself on the chair as if he was playing a card game, stumped on what his next move was going to be. "What is your next course of action, considering that our path to the Litany is pretty much completely cut off?"

Frost began to stare in interest at Blast's story of his groups previous escapade. The Litany he repeated in his head nit taking his eyed off of the stallion in front of him. That name seemed strangely familiar to him, but he couldn't put his hoof on it. He shrugged off the thought guessing that he just fooled his mind into thinking he had heard if the artifact. "So...." he paused for a moment before continuing his question. ".....what is so dangerous about The Litany?" He asked, hoping he hadn't crossed a line

Scribbler nodded to Orion, as he turned, and trotted to catch up to Mirror. "It's no problem, I'm glad to be able to spend some time to get to know you better." He smiled, and walked by her side, and looked about the stores as they passed by them. He turned his head after a moment of silence to Mirror, noting she seemed to be at a loss for conversation. "What sort of thing were you looking to buy?" He inquired, hoping to break the ice a little. He was having just about as much trouble restraining his flow of questions as Mirror seemed to be having with thinking of any at all.

Clockwork followed Icarus into the bar, scanning about for any familiar faces. Seeing none, he made his way to the bar, where Icarus had stopped. "Anyone you know?" He asked, hoping the answer would be yes. "I hope so, I could really use something to wet the old whistle soon. It's been a long day." Clockwork wasn't usually one to be social outside his work, but this would be a day where he was willing to set aside his old habits in order to make a step outside his old walls. He had been waiting for an opportunity like this to arise for some time now.

"I have located them" Icarus extended his hoof in the direction of the group's table, looking at Clockwork.

Would have been nicer without the the whole 'life and death struggle thing' or if I actually knew who I was at that point but... hey, the company was alright and the drinks were free!" She said, raising a brow and feigning falling over, catching herself and pointing at the bottle slung beside the cutlass. "Heh, might even be tempted to open one of these on the train."

 

Still forcing a slight grin, she shrugged to Eclipse.

 

"Got a letter from a friend - same guy who pointed us towards the Litany. Says he thinks he know whats going on with all the weird stuff thats been happenin' so we're heading up towards the Crystal Kingdom on the next train. Sounds serious but 'least we're not walkin' this time."

Clockwork nodded, seeing the two sitting at the table. He looked to Icarus. "You've met them before, I'll let you do the talking to start. But I'm in, if it means getting out of this city." He overheard the mare saying something about taking a train to the Crystal Kingdom. This peaked his curiosity in the group doubly, then hearing a hint of news about somepony who might actually know what's happening with the weather. He needed to get in on this. He walked next to Icarus, following him over to the table where Kingfisher and Pavisa sat.

Icarus approached the one he believed to be Kingfisher,the green mare, and spoke, hopefully not interrupting anything.

 

"Excuse me madam, but I hear you are taking a group to the Crystal Kingdom for reasons pertaining to the strange weather patterns," He paused fr a second before continuing " I would like to offer my advanced medical assistance on your journey, and I do believe that this gentle-colt behind me also has services to offer" Icarus Awaited their response.

But...that hardly matters right now. What are you looking for?"

"Don't look now, but we've got more company..." Aegis said, noticing more ponies wander over. He kept his eye on the green one with the grey mane. Something about him seemed off, but Aegis would be pleasant in any case. 'Can't get respect until it's earned. That's what Dad used to say. Then again, he said a lot of things.'

 

Aegis looked around, counting how many ponies there were now and his face fell. "Uh, I don't think I've got enough bits for everypony's drinks. I really wasn't expecting so many."

"Well, I suppose you could say I'm looking for something very similar, although I don't believe you'd find them in an armoury. I have a special form of enchantment technique, I'm looking for a set of special marbles.. I have some already, but it couldn't hurt to have a few more. Especially with what we've faced already." He glanced to Mirror as they walked "You seem somewhat bitter when you mention the owner of that armoury.. forgive me if I'm being too personal.."

More ponies. Great. Redwave would probably be lamenting 'the silent whispers of the sea' or something by this point... Kingfisher wasn't quite as melodramatic. She looked over the pair - they looked quite mad. That said, most of their part already looked at least partially crazy. She rolled her eyes. "Fine - you can come and listen to the Bard's stories, but you're buying your own train tickets!"

 

Glancing at the other two, she shrugged. "We can't really stop them getting on the train anyway - now without getting on the wrong side of... uh, not without causing a scene."

That was quite a lot simpler than I had expected it to be, but no matter, I am leaving with them tomorrow, and hopefully, this leads me back on the creators trail..

Using marbles for enchanting? That wasn't something she had heard of before. It sounded interesting...Unfortunately, she was more focused on his question. "You're fine... But it really isn't something I want to talk about right now...." She fell into silence again. Only speaking after a minute had passed. She didn't want to seem frigid. Scribbler was nice and possibly the only actual friend she had among the others. "I promise I'll tell you some other time...just not today."

Eclipse heard Kingfisher say a few things about a train leaving tomorrow. He then turned his head back to her and nodded. 

"Fine then. I shall buy my own ticket and join you on your little trip." Eclipse said to her. "Something tells me that you'll need me."
